Yum! Went to the drive thru here. I chugged the horchata before I even got home. Next time it will be a large and one for my boyfriend too! You can order inside I believe but I don't know if there's anywhere to sit. I ordered six tacos for us, carne asada, fish and Al pastor. They were so authentic and street taco style. I should've ordered a lot more. No pineapple pieces with the Al pastor :/ but great flavor just the same. We got chips and salsa. Salsa was good but safe. I also ordered us the chicken fries, got all the dressings on the side and it was a good choice. The chicken was diced perfectly to pair with fries. This is one of my favorite fast food restaurants. Once you eat here you'll never eat Taco Bell ever again. The owner is very nice, very sweet. Emis is legit! Being from Southern California, the Mecca of Mexican food, I can honestly say Emis has game. The carne asada burrito was succulent and flavorful with the onions and cilantro blend. Took me right back. The bean burrito was also very good, beans were on point. It was by total chance that we came across it after our farm visits in the country but I'm glad we did and that we now have a drive by option when we are nearby. The cutest, quaintest little spot i found in Medina ended up being a diamond in the rough. Located just outside of medina square, Emis taqueria boasts authentic mexican food and boy does it deliver. Its strictly drive-thru OR in and out. There is absolutely no seating inside whatsoever. there honestly isnt enough room in the little lobby area for more than 4 people to fit comfortably so be sure you either go on a sunny day to sit on their picnic tables or you utilize the drive thru. Ordering was a breeze, menu was cute and simple, right down to the point. Prices were appropriate for the ask and our food was out in less than 10 minutes. Talk about service. Now on to the food, because lets face it if you've read this far thats why you're here. I got the street tacos, because in my experience if you screw up a street taco the rest is just whatever at this point. Carne Asada, Pastor, Chicken and Chorizo were the choices i went with. The easiest of the tacos imo. Each came perfectly seasoned and portioned, the shells were fresh and delicious. Meat was tender, cooked perfect and enough on the taco to make the $4 worth your while. I also got the chips and salsa, some rice and i couldnt resist a nice cup of Horchata (21 or older ) but again it was ALL so worth it. I was full after my second taco but give up? No I was committed. I took a bite of each of my tacos and my favorite by far was the asada. The rice was moist but not too sticky, tasty and filling. And the horchata?! ARRRIBAAAA. Seriously it looks like a dive passing by, i honestly was confused by the outside of the building, but the food was well worth it. Emi's is, in my opinion, a gem and a treasure. Their chiles rellenos are breaded in the most lovely and light batter, and are always a treat. The staff is always cheerful and friendly. I drive 45 minutes to satisfy my craving for their quaint menu, passing many many full service Mexican restaurants along the way! Limited menu that does it all SO well! My family LOVED Emi's!!! We all downed our meal as if we hadn't eaten in a month, including a chicken quesadilla, chicken fajita quesadilla, pineapple salad, beef enchilada and a couple other items. They even gorges on the rice & beans. We also enjoyed a brief visit by Emi (?). She wanted to make sure we were enjoying everything and surprised me with a lovely Mother's Day rose. Stopped by Emi's for lunch recently and ordered some tacos. I didn't use the drive thru because I wanted to snap a couple photos. Upon arrival, I saw that they were cooking some meat for tacos and the menu was clearly posted on the wall. I was greeted while I was perusing the menu and I asked what their most popular items were. The lady said that the carne asada and al pastor street tacos were the most popular items. So I ordered one of each plus a chicken taco. My tacos were ready in just a few minutes and I took them home with me. My favorite taco was probably the al pasto followed by the chicken. The carne asada was okay too, but not as good as the other ones. These are some legit tacos! I will be back to taste other menu items soon! read more

My husband and I watched a documentary on tacos and of course, had a wild craving for them after. We stopped by and ordered the al pastor tacos, carne asada tacos, and the chicken tacos, all of which were very tasty. My favorite was the al pastor taco! We also tried the beans and rice sides, which were really good, but definitely ordering just tacos next time. It's a little gem, hidden in the area and definitely worth trying! I would like to give a better review for them but after 3 times ordering and mistakes every time, I can't. The food is good and the drive up window great. Unfortunately every time I've ordered street tacos and asked for no onions, I get them piled on instead! Nasty. Today I requested a side of sour cream- nope, none in the bag once it got home. Great little place off the Square in Medina. Service is a little slow, but is ok as they are building a lot of different items and it's not all traditional fast food style Mexican. We have gone a few times and by far the nachos with steak are the best on the menu from what we have tried. There are a lot of toppings and a good blend of flavors. The street tacos were good as well with many different options. Note that they are real street tacos so don't look for toppings like Taco Bell. Good full flavor, but could have a little more in them. Vegetarian options are out there, but nothing so far that makes you crave it. The veggie burrito is tasty and would recommend it. Will try some others soon. read more

This establishment is located on the SW part of town, away from the hustle and bustle of Medina proper. And in a small drive through painted a festive green. The drive up menu is somewhat difficult to read, and first the young woman and then man spoke way too fast before, during and after our order was taken. There was a moderate wait, because the food is made to order, and off we went to eat at home. My wife's chicken nachos looked great and was soon acknowledged by her, the only disappointment was the abundance of onions. I got their street tacos: two beef, and one chorizo with chopped onions. Street fare is usually pretty good, but the key is to find the right balance between meat and shell. No one enjoys eating double tortillas without some substance, because then they just taste like cardboard. Their beef tacos were just that; too little meat, lack of seasoning and no cilantro. Their chorizo taco was great. We like to find small, local, independent eateries, and this one is no exception. We believe they are worth another visit, but next time we will be more specific with our order. read more

I ordered a variety of things off the menu to share: smoothie, tacos, chips, etc. you go inside to order and there is no place to wait. I would like to highly recommend this small place to anyone who would like to try some authentic food. Street tacos are the must try and please don't expect ground beef and cheese on it. Emi's is EM-AZING!!! Best street tacos in the NE Ohio area only next to La Plaza Mexican market in Lakewood. As an Ohio native I've lived in Texas for several years and these street tacos just as good as the ones on the streets in San Antonio. I got some chicken flautas, a chicken and asada street taco along with a smoothie, and all were phenomenal. I think I'll try the horchata and/or tres leches dessert next time. Love the drive through style set up and awesome service. Will be making the trip to Medina from Royalton more often! :) Muy muy bien! read more

I'm not sure if there is some connection to the previous reviews and the restaurant but something is just not right about this place. I am from Texas, my father, born in Mexico and I have to say that I have been disappointed, not once, but twice by the food here. The first time I came here, I ordered a burrito and it was drenched in what tasted like cheap spaghetti o's sauce and it was soggy; inedible. I also ordered the soup and all I could taste was cilantro. When I called the restaurant, a young man answered. I voiced my dissatisfaction and was basically told "too bad" until I demanded to speak to a higher up which ended up being his parents which I'm assuming is Emi. She told me to come back for a $16 credit. This was when they first opened. I never returned for the credit. Today, I said, "let's try it again". I ordered the #5 - 3 taquitos with rice and beans and again, I'm sadly disappointed. The taquitos were tiny with no guacamole as pictured on the menu. No salsa on the side. The rice was completely inedible due to oversalting and I am a huge salt fan. I figured maybe if I mix the rice with the beans, it would calm it down I was wrong. The only reason I would return is for the horchata. It's fabulous and taste homemade. So sad to write this review as I had high hopes for this place. read more

PROS: Drive thru Mexican joint serving food truck style tacos and burritos. Very cheap prices and excellent quality. Go with the Big-OH burrito or any of the street tacos. Service is very fast. CONS: Very few. The only real issue is a tight drive thru lane that makes it logistically challenging during busy hours. They have a small waiting area for picking up to-go orders but parking is limited and the space only has room for 3 people or so. read more

Ok, so the first few weeks were kinda crazy after they opened. However, that is fine because they are a new restaurant and need to find their groove. They have, and the food is still great! The staff is getting their act together on order accuracy (which was a big problem at first). Also, the line is moving at a normal pace. I have to say I am a little concerned because my family loves their food a bit too much. Seriously, try the Grilled Chicken Quesadilla or the Al Pastor Burrito and then tell me you have had anything in the state of Ohio like it. I love this place because the food is by far the best Mexican food in town. The prices are great. And I can get it to go. I really have no complaints because any flaws I run into feel quaint and good in the manner that you can only find from a small, family run business.
