This was my first time coming here, I saw pictures and reviews online and wanted to try out and they did not disappoint! Service very friendly and attentive, food came out very fast and was so delicious! We had the blueberry bread French toast which was awesome. And might I add that their hash is home made?? Probably the best I have ever had. And they have lots of specialty flavored iced coffees, which for me is a HUGE plus. Ordered Emma's for takeout and got a bacon omelette which was ok, nothing special. The banana bread French toast was extremely good, great flavor and texture. I have a tiny little secret to tell you all. Sometimes I will visit a place, not write a review in time, and it'll fade from memory. I'll have the overall gist, but one paragraph reviews are not my style. Thus, I will return so I can be my usual, loquacious self. Emma Lisa's is a middle of the pack breakfast spot. It is not the pre-frozen, corporate approved, mass produced grub served at places that rhyme with PiHop. It is also better than diner food, but is otherwise unremarkable. I ordered a 2+2+2 with Chorizo and Apple Cinnamon Pancakes (fall special). The eggs were cooked to the requested over-medium, but lacked any salt, though there was a shaker on the table. The chorizo was grilled nicely and a fair portion. The pancakes were hot, fresh, fluffy, and had a perfect sugar level. Apples and cinnamon were a wonderful touch, also. I think the key to Emma Lisa's is to manage your expectations. They don't do anything special, they are not farm to table, and they don't have something like skillets that you couldn't make at home. What they do have is solid breakfast food that may just need a little salt. Good for when you don't feel like cooking and cleaning, and don't want anything too complicated. It is my favorite place for pancakes or eggs benedict. The service is good, but this is not a place for a leisurely breakfast. The waitress is friendly, but she is always rushing. She clears my plate while my friend is still eating. On Labor Day, when we asked for a takeout box, she cleared our water glasses without asking if we were finished. While we were still signing the credit card slips, a gentleman came to the table and asked us to leave because there was a line out the door. When we left, there was a family of 3 in the waiting area and 2 people outside. We have been there when there were 8 or more people and 30 or more minutes wait for a table. Therefore, we know not to stay and talk after we finish eating, but didn't believe it was necessary for him to ask us to leave. We were there for 1hr 5 minutes. Is that too long? read more

Eggs weren't exactly over medium (they were over easy) but that happens all the time at a lot of places Biscuit was freshly made, but tasted a little like basic Bisquick--not from scratch. But again, it was good enough and definitely not hard or tasteless! Sausage gravy was nice, and a great consistency, but I always wish for real chunks of sausage in it, not just the specks used to make the start of the gravy. Home fries were fine. Cooked well but lacking any distinct seasoning. Pancakes were good, but a little overdone on one side (you can see I forked off portions of the pancake to eat, yet the bottom just stayed in a solid piece) Like just a step up from microwave pancakes unfortunately. Make sure to double check the hours of operations, as I've come here hoping they were open for breakfast and they were closed. They close early afternoon on some days.
