I had not been to this place since 1996, but we returned to the area for a weekend and I wanted to check out the old neighborhood. Well, Stella's is still going strong, and better than ever. We arrived about 9:30 am on a Saturday morning. There were still some booths to choose from, and also folks sitting at the counter. I ordered an egg over corned beef hash (something you don't see much on breakfast menus in Maryland) and my husband had the Special breakfast with two eggs, bacon, and French toast. Both plates were a home run. The food came out faster than I expected. The two servers were really pleasant and hard working. My husband wants to go back there on the way back to Logan. read more

What a great new find! First time here and I promise you it won't be the last. Just came in for a quick breakfast in my way to work and everything I got was delicious. They made the corned beef hash just how I love it.. well done how I asked for it. So good!! French toast is solid. Love their iced coffee as well. So they are under new management and boy has the service gone down hill .... placed a phone under and young lady on the phone was extremely rude ... I just got a breakfast sandwich and her respond was that's it , that's a small order and had to see if she could get it for me .... after talking to someone she said ok that's fine and it will be 10 minutes ... I arrived promptly 10 minutes later and order was not ready ... same young lady said it will be right out ... ended up waiting an other 15 min at the restaurant for a breakfast sandwich... I've been ordering take out breakfast from here for years and never experienced this type of service before ..... And fix your door !!! read more

I'm convinced this place is part of an alternative reality. I went for breakfast last week and it was silent when walking in. Mostly older people were there so I can't say it's a great spot for young adults. The walls are a muted color and there is no music or any background noises. The workers did not acknowledge me until after I sat down and even then, seemed like they only came over when they absolutely had to. My grandfather used to bring me here when I was younger, now I have the pleasure of bringing him myself. This has been my go-to breakfast place for years. Cash only. A couple of ATMs are nearby and they even have one inside. Classic American fare for breakfast. Kind of a townie joint. Blue collar and earnest. Clean venue, booths and counter. Stella's is a decent diner in Milton center. There is plenty of free parking on Adams and the side streets. We came here for breakfast this morning to check it out. This place is cash only, and so make sure you have it; otherwise they have an ATM in the diner and there are a number of bank ATMs on Adams. Service is friendly and quick. Prices are decent. Food is good. I had a mushroom and cheese omelet, which comes with home fries and toast (I got raisin toast). I also got an order of bacon, extra crispy. My food was perfect! Sttttteeeelllllaaaa! We keep going back to Stella's because it's close and easy and consistent. Consistently average, yet consistent nonetheless. The decor is straight up 1987 and tragic, but you really don't go to a place like Stella's for the decor anyway. It's almost always busy but tables move quickly so you usually don't have a super long wait. They don't have cheddar cheese, which I always find absolutely ridiculous, I mean who in the eff doesn't carry cheddar cheese? Even without the cheddar, the omelets are decent as are the home-fries, again nothing to rave about, but the prices are good and it's a neighborhood place. I did have my first affair with a grilled bagel at Stella's and for that I will always be grateful. read more

The server was very unfriendly and never checked in, never offered coffee or tea refills. Then when she took the money to pay the bill, she kept the change for herself and assumed it was her tip!! The coffee was a little weak, but the prices are always right in here. Its very bare-bones....which is kinda what I like about the place. It has real diner chairs and booths and you can tell the waitstaff have been working there for 5+ years! They're quick and very friendly. If you want a no-frills, classic diner breakfast, then this is the place to come. I give Stella's 3 stars because of a few reasons, first, the service can be pretty unexcited that you are there, second, if it's a busy weekend day, there is no real system to seating people and with two entrances, I've seen patrons get annoyed that people who have come in after them will get seated before them, third, the food can be lackluster. I say "can be" for the service and food because out of the three times I have been here, two times that was the case. However, our first time, we had a very friendly server, and the food was great - just what we wanted from a big diner breakfast - so it could just be that the next two times I didn't order their specialties. read more

The service is lacking, to say the least, with an unfriendly waitress team who seem annoyed that you are even there.
