Emmy Pizza is brand new, the restaurant next door just closed, and you'd think the owner would be on-site capitalizing on the opportunity. Nope. Instead, we got a manager so clueless it felt like watching someone try to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded... with oven mitts. Dozens of open tables, yet asking for a booth turned into a committee meeting. Ten minutes before a server appeared. Fourteen minutes for one draft beer, glass of a wine, and a cocktail. At that point, I started aging in dog years. Our server then pulled a Houdini act, and getting the check required flagging down strangers like I was trying to hitchhike out of a desert. New restaurant, prime location, zero urgency. Emmy isn't serving pizza, they're serving up missed opportunity on a hot plate. read more

I was starving for a good pizza and decided to try out Emmy's. Ordered a regular Margherita with fresh mushrooms. There are no words to describe the taste of the sauce, cheese, crust that's cheesy crunchy on the sides! Service was quick, friendly. Will definitely return. We had a great experience at Emmy squared. Our server, I believe her name was Tatianna (I might be getting that slightly wrong), was so kind and patient with us - especially since we came with our 3 year-old and 6 month old baby. She went out of her way to bring us baby, a pen, and a highlighter so our child could be entertained until the food arrived. She knew the menu well, provided great recommendations, and just overall provided us with great service. The food was delicious. We got the Caesar, the chicken crispers, and the Big Ang pizza. Everything tasted great! For drinks I had the Dos Fashioned and the Espresso Yourself - both were fab but the Espresso Yourself was next level. Went here with the family for a Wednesday night dinner. While the servers were very friendly, they were not very attentive. It took us almost 40 minutes to get our food and the place was almost empty. No one came back to check on us after we received our initial drink order so we sat with empty drink glasses for 10-15 minutes. The food was mediocre at best as the pizzas were burnt but obviously had been sitting for a while because they were cold. I'm guessing this place doesn't last long. read more

My daughter told me about this pizza place. Her boyfriend and she love this place. Pizza is fantastic she said. So my husband and I went and tried . They were packed that night. We did not know we should have made a reservation. But who would have thought to make a reservation at a pizza place ? LOL. So we waited ! Other guests came with no reservations and I saw some disappointed and angry customers ( NOT Sure why ! Restaurant was busy for goodness sake ). Anyway, we got seated after a long wait ( which is soooo worth it ). Pizza was super super delicious. Service was absolutely fantastic !!!! Managers ...... let me start here ! This is where everything can be fixed when you are at a busy restaurant, long wait and very hungry ( most people get very grumpy ‍). The managers , Victor and Will , they ran around like crazy too just like their staff. They made time to stop and checked on their guests also helped with the food service. We noticed this and so grateful to be there and ate one of the BEST pizza we ever had . The service from the staff and the managers that make sure all ran well ..... TOP NOTCH ! Went with a party of 9. While the restaurant was fairly empty, they said they had no room for us inside, making us sit outside on a super hot day (yes I know we could have gone somewhere else but it was kinda late and the kids wanted pizza). Took forever to get the food. Half the food came out at one time, and so half the group finished our food while the other half waited at least another 15 minutes for theirs to come out. No notice from the server, no explanation as to why everything else took so long. Their compromise was to give us free brownies and a promise of a discount that didn't show up on the check. We are pretty easy going, but when the food comes so far apart, that's pretty bad. Pizza was good.. reminded us of a good ole pizza hut pizza. Most likely won't be returning. read more

This was our first time here and was looking forward to trying it. Our server was just lovely. I did notice another server who look like he just rolled out of bed and pulled his shirt out of the laundry basket. That's not good but as for the pizza, it was delicious and we will definitely be back for that. The sausage on top of the pizza was delicious. Italian sweet sausage with huge crumbles and the pepperoni seemed to be sliced fresh not just pulled out of a bag. The bar however, had five TVs on and not one was on a real sports game after it all it is baseball season. Visited newly opened Emmy squared but upon arrival had to return glassware as it was dirty the restaurant itself just felt dirty and not cleaned for being a newly open location. Ordered the good paulie, but there was no Italian sausage and when asked the waiter about this, they informed me it was just under the cheese, but showed them that there was absolutely no meat on the pizza. They said they would bring a side of Italian sausage out, but near 20 minutes later and a cold pizza we just had to throw the Italian sausage on and eat it that way. The waiter did not check in or follow up with us on the food. Sadly, a underwhelming experience, considering the food was actually very tasty. read more

Let me start by saying that it takes a lot for me go out of my way to write a bad review. Normally I would just not go back and not suggest to others. However, for Emmy Squared I make an exception. My experience was horrible. I ordered take out at 8:29pm. I just ordered a small pizza and a chicken sandwich. I was told 20-30 mins. I returned in 30 mins and was told another 5 mins. That turned into 30 mins. The food finally came at 9:30pm. There was no explanation for the long wait at least not until we asked. We were told the sandwhich got messed up so they made another. For the inconvenience, they said they would throw in lemon pepper chicken wings. Come to find one, they didn't give us the complimentary wings but lukewarm mozzarella sticks and two, the sand-which was burnt. The pizza was also undercooked. This was upsetting considering the food was pricey. Will not be returning and customers beware. read more

Got to sample the menu for the grand opening, tasty new addition to west broad village! I liked the margherita and emmy pizza. Kiddo liked pepperoni of course. Love Chicago deep dish style thick crust with crispy edges cooked and seasoned well. I didn't love the supreme flavor it was doughy and not as crisp or as much sauce as the others. Brussels sprout salad was nice to have a different type of salad but the one I got was lacking, needed more dressing and toppings. The bread sticks had confit and pesto, flavor was good but greasy for my taste which is why it pairs well with marinara. The burger was really good! Meat was dense and not tender to me but was quality meat. The cheese was very good, strong flavor and pretzel bun was very rich and toasted perfectly. I tried the two mocktail flavors and both were so delicious but very pricey for non alcoholic drinks. Service was nice and good atmosphere with outdoor and indoor seating with a bar. Overall was a good experience, it is on the pricier side so would be a once in awhile treat for us. read more
