Call me pleasantly surprised. This little "Italian" spot has been on my radar. I use quotation marks loosely as this restaurant also serves tacos and other Central American flavors. However, when you advertise pizza, I'm always getting Pepperoni to see how the restaurant does. Not bad. The cheese is good quality, the pepperoni is perfect, and the flour crust delicious. While it was lacking in sauce, ( it's only on the edges) the pizza was still missing something. I just couldn't put my finger on it and helped myself to a second piece. Is it that ooey, gooey, drippy pizza...No, but I think it could be and I am looking forward to experimenting next time. My companion tried a sub with a side of onion rings. They really enjoyed the flavors and quality. We ordered at the counter, but for dining in, menus are brought to the table in this Extremely casual establishment. I would have loved to have a beer with my pizza. Sadly, No alcohol was served. Your beverage options are a few fountain drinks, or more choices in bottles. read more

We have a large group of friends who go out to eat on Friday nights. It's usually a challenge to find an establishment to accommodate us all. Joe's is always a great choice. I always call ahead, and they never say no. In the warmer months we can sit outside. The menu is varied and I've never made a bad choice! Service is pretty good, considering the size of our group. I was the only one in there on a weekday and now know why. The sauce is super bland, has not taste, and the crust is weird. It's not typical pizza crust. The veggies taste like they come out of a can, so was super disappointed and paid $20 for that pizza. Didn't get cheese either, so they didn't even deduct anything. Mrs Yelp is away for work, so yours truly was flying solo for a few days. So on a whim I thought I'd order Pizza delivery from a different restaurant than what we normally do. Figured why not let me try another business. Not because I was unsatisfied with the other spot, but just to try something new. So now that I have that preamble out of the way, let's get to it. I ordered a plain cheese, and because I needed $15 or more for delivery I added some garlic bread w/cheese. Because you can't have enough carbs in your life. Email notification that delivery is expected in 45 min. Joe's is about 2 miles from my house. (What would be nice is a text update since I supplied my phone number with a delivery. ). Pizza and garlic bread showed up 15 min early. 33 min from order to door bell ring to be exact- very nice. And very very polite delivery man too. The Garlic bread is good. Nasty, garlicky and good bread. I think it could use a slight more cheese but that's nitpicking if I'm being honest. I ordered a plain cheese. The dough is very good. Good amount of cheese and tasty sauce. I added a bit of salt and I'm not sure if it's really needed. I warmed up my 2nd slice in the air fryer- 3min at 350 and it was just like it was out of the oven. So it looks to do that whole reheat / leftover thing well. All in all I think this is enjoyable to warrant another visit. read more

Well, finally! I've been on the search for good New York style pizza since I moved away from the Tri-state area last year. I can't even begin to tell you how many pies I've had that have been lackluster, sad, or just plain terrible. So to have a [ginormous] slice of quality pizza for $3 was such a welcome surprise. Joe's is located on the Midlo Turnpike and isn't far from the connection with 76. I rarely visit south-side for a variety of reasons, including that I generally avoid driving and also hate all the tolls, but I'm willing to make special trips for Joe's pizza again. I'm only docking a star because the Italian hoagie was lacking. I can't recommend them for sandwiches unless they change their roll vendor. The roll was bland, too puffy, and brought down what could have been a great sandwich. I am curious about their pasta dishes, so I'll order one of those the next time I grab a pizza. What's really nice is that you can order and pay through Yelp. Pickup was a breeze. I was in and out in maybe a minute. But from what I saw of the interior, it looked like a cozy place to dine in as well. There are several tables and the pizza area is wide open at the front. I like that type of concept. read more

Brooklyn style pizza!! We had our first slice as we were out running errands and wanted a quick snack. Very good!! Excellent crust and sauce to cheese ratio. Real Italian sausage sliced not ground up. My wife thought it was a little salty but that was probably my fault using the garlic powder. We definitely will be back. read more

We were craving a pizza by the slice place and found Joes on google. They have pizza slices , pasta, sandwiches , and food for the entire family even picky eaters. I love these local pizza places. The food was great and homemade. My 6 yr old son loved his cheese slice which is enough for 2 kids. We had 3 slices and fountain drinks for $17 and the slices were a really good size. Almost enough for 2 ppl, but not today since we weee hungry ! Hats off to local pizza places like Joes. Quick lunch for less money than McDonalds. read more

I really enjoy their pizza one of my favorites in the area. We've eaten here and ordered to go many times and have never been disappointed. The pizzas are huge and delicious. It's a small restaurant with a small team but they are always friendly and will deliver at my job right down the street even when they aren't doing delivery. The staff was very friendly, once I spoke first lol. But the during the wait for my takeout order the staff became more friendly by the second. The cook was very generous and even gave me a extra slice of pizza for waiting for my order, so you got a star for that! Needless to say I really enjoyed my food, it hit the spot. We love this place. My wife goes for the chicken livers. I usually get different offerings of spaghetti. But this night I decided a good Sailor Sandwich would be good. Usually awesome at Joe's but there was a strange taste with the pastrami. Most of time I thought it was just dry or something. But last two bites I tried to eat were chemically tasting. It had come in contact with something and no guess of what chemical but certainly not a food taste. I let waitress know plus she saw only half was eaten. No offer to replace. The place has huge slices of pizza starting at $3.00 for a slice of cheese ($3.50 for a slice of sausage). My wife and I can get a couple of slices and a side of perfectly fried arancini balls with a side of sauce and a drink for under $15.00 including tip! Since my original visit 27 days ago I have returned here 4 times for pizza. I absolutely love it. I've sent about 15 clients here, and 3 coworkers have gone after tasting when I've ordered. My coworker who doesn't normally like pizza (only likes one pizza joint in downtown NYC) loves this place, and asks for it for lunch when we work together. Joe's is just outside my subdivision but had never tried it until recently. I can't remember the last time I ordered pizza, so that is probably why...... However, Yelp helped me to see that maybe I should give it a try. I initially used the Yelp online ordering which turned out to be a mistake, It said my order would arrive in 45 minutes. Since the restaurant I about a mile from my house and it was a Sunday night, I called after about 40 minutes and was told that the only Yelp order that had come through was for 11:00am the next day... Yes, mine! My confirmation certainly did not agree with that! They said they'd get the order to us ASAP which still took almost another 40 minutes. The minus star ;( Though it could have been cooked a bit more, the pizza is truly what you'd expect for New York style. Thin crust, zesty sauce and LOTS of cheese. Toppings are of good quality, too. I recommend that you always order a large as the leftovers may be even better. A couple of weeks later, we tried again. This time calling the order in. Much better delivery experience. Someday I may make the long journey to the restaurant, but for now, when I NEED a gooey, cheesy pizza, this will do just fine! read more

So, I am dissatisfied, but I want to be complimentary, because generally the food is delicious. Twice I have ordered a Stromboli for delivery. First time by phone, second time using the Yelp app. Both times I received a Calzone. It would be helpful if they could post a picture of their version of Stromboli, just so I can be convinced they know the difference. Go ahead and google images of Stromboli and Calzone. Big difference. But like I said, I ate what they sent, and it was great, so I can't be too hard. And I haven't yet ordered their Pizza which I have a hunch is pretty darn good. But I just wanted a Stromboli, twice, and I think about that every day I drive by on Midlo. Better luck next time. read more

My family and I have been going to Joe's pretty regularly since the pandemic started, the quality of their food has been all over the place, but its never been terrible. Many times it's been not the best, but it's one of the few non chain places that will deliver to us. We usually order a pizza and some apps. Yesterday we ordered something different hoping that we would find something that would become a new staple. We ordered a couple of pizzas and a Spinach and Feta calzone, which was under stuffed and essentially empty. I figured that Joe's being sparse with ingredients was the biggest issue we would have that evening but I was incorrect. Everyone who had the Calzone spent the rest of the evening being violently ill. More than likely Joe's under washed or inappropriately washed their spinach and it's been running a gastronomical dooms day count throughout my family. In Richmond and stopped here for dinner and wow was it good! All the food was fresh and hot and served very quickly made to order. My mother got mushroom pizza and I had a stromboli and both were absolutely delicious. She also had a caesar salad ("excellent," she says) and I had garlic knots. I went in for a takeout order, there was only one other person there so that's the only reason I was kinda upset. I had to wait a little while for my food. HOWEVER, it was completely worth the wait. In town for work, didn't feel like sitting at a restaurant by myself so I got my calzone to go & I didn't get to experience the sit down service but my order was completed swiftly and everything still tasted delicious! Did my order for takeout, but when I went inside to pay for my order they had cheesecake on display that I could not pass up.
