To say they loved it is an understatement, my 15 year old son loved the burger so much he made us come back on our last day to get it again, his new favorite burger! The burger really is incredible. Get two patties, and let the sauce run all over your hands. The pretzel bun makes it, it's soft and salty, burger perfection! The pizza is also amazing!! The founders pizza is so good!! The perfect pepperoni, jalapeño, and honey, and that marinara sauce is crack, why is it so good??!! Good Pauline pizza and we added mushrooms- hello!! Delish!! Stopped by to try a promotion on slices today! The cheese pizza was fresh and crispy. Could use a little more sauce but overall very good! Service was great! Kaae I think was her name was friendly and smiled making me feel welcome. The wait staff who brought out my pizza was also nice. A good spot for date night or large group dining. Detroit in the city. Ordered the 6 slice Detroit pan pizza. Flew all the way from Cali to hit my usual pizza joints when we walked to one of my old favs to find a new joint in its place. Emmys apparently has been here awhile and we didn't even know it. Love the story about the couple who owns it. Pizza came out in 20 minutes and within 10 minutes there was no trace it was ever at the table. Devoured. Delicious. My hats off to this young dynamic couple with a vision. Delicious pizzas and burgers. Centrally located on a side street near Times Square, cozy seating, staff were really nice but had to ask twice for a few things cause they were pretty overworked. Sooo Good!!! Taste: We loved everything we ordered. The chefs special pizza under promised and over delivered... truly exceptional. The brussels sprout salad was unique and delicious. And we loved both cocktails... the espresso and pear bourbon drinks. Service: The service was fine. Our dinner reservation was for 8pm and they closed at 9. In fact, things always manage to surpassed my expectations. Loved it here! I had wanted to try this place for awhile. I was staying in the area, and it was conveniently located on the same block. I stopped in for dinner on a week night. There were other people dining, but there was no wait. We ordered pizza and the salad. The food was incredible! I was pleasantly surprised, even though I had read other great reviews on Emmy's food. I saw a young family, a group of friends, a couple and more small friend groups. Very good Detroit pizza with the delicious caramelized edge. So good! And while you think the pizza will be heavy, it's not. The dough is light and fluffy- with mouth watering caramelized cheese on every edge! Their Caesar salad might be one of the best I've ever had- it's fresh and seriously well made. But it's a huge portion and they wouldn't serve a half-portion so it was expensive and wasteful for me, dining alone. I highly recommend the pizza and yes the salad is that good. Too bad they don't size down the salad for a single person (or even just for two!). Go here. It's good. It's an easy vibe and accommodating for anyone. We ordered a couple small pies to our roof nearby, slices were small, cute, dough was thick and fluffy. Delish. Flavor was really good- the spicy pepperoni was ACTUALLY SPICY!!! I'm a little torn about this; Could've been a 5 star. I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza here. I really enjoyed the detroit style chewy center and crispy outsides a lot more than I expected I would. I love that you can get a large for only 5 dollars more which makes it so much more economical and family friendly. Check out the specials before you decide to order! We actually missed them and then had to change our order; props to our server for getting those last minute changes in. In any case the downside for me was the burger; in general we enjoy the Emily burger very much, and while not so much the west village emily, the burger just wasn't nearly as delicious as what we were expecting given Emily(brooklyn) burgers. I'll start by saying this review is for delivery so unfortunately I'm unable to comment on the ambiance or what the location is like in-person, but I did have an issue with the app I ordered through (Toast Takeout, the service you are redirected to when you click order for takeout or delivery on their website) and tried calling the location directly twice and got forwarded to voicemail after the phone rang and rang each time so my impression of the service isn't great given they couldn't be bothered to simply pick up the phone. That issue aside, the food that was delivered to me was a bit hit or miss. The pizza was out of this world good! Seriously, amazing flavor and texture- crisp crunchy edges and fluffy interior, the Big Hawaiian had just the right amount of heat and sweet to tantalize the taste buds! The pizza itself is small and so are the individual slices, but half of it fills you up quick so it's perfect to split with a friend or save for another meal. I completely get the hype now! The Chopped Italian Salad was a real let down. There were barely any toppings, it was essentially just a box full of chopped romaine with 3 grape tomatoes sliced in half, a handful of chickpeas, a few slivers of roasted red bell peppers, some flavorless pieces of provolone, and chunks of soppressata that personally I did not enjoy the taste of one bit. For a salad that costs $22 I genuinely expected something fresher, higher in quality, better in taste, and just far more than what I received, I'm genuinely astounded they would let this go out the door. For a salad this simple you, either do it well or don't do it at all. Overall, I'm torn. The pizza was hands down some of the best I've had and I'm looking forward to having it again, but I'd probably never order anything else off the menu so I think takeout might be the way to go so you can fix your own sides at home. read more
