    17" wood fired pizza

Best meal we had in NYC!!! Service was great and food was amazing! Great pizza joint vibe! Drinks were strong and priced right. Old fashioned is on point from a KY bourbon connoisseur. Salad and the sausage with peppers for an appetizer were amazing. Entree was an order pasta with sausage and the spicy marinara sauce...wow was so good!! Also got the 17"wood fired pizza with sausage and pepperoni.. as a KY guy wanting to try NY pizza..this will MAKE us come back!!! Outstanding! Service and managers were so friendly and accommodating. Making sure all was right with the meal and service. Definitely trying again the next time we are back in town!!

Come across this place on a late night back to our hotel. Wanted pasta and it seemed like a good spot to try. It was pretty late and the restaurant wasn't packed. The service was ok, not the best but who knows. It's not a huge deal. The chicken fettuccine was really good. Amazing. My sister in law had a burger. She said it was good too.

One of the best flavored bites of pizza I've ever had. Kept it simple and ordered a margarita with no toppings. Sauce was beautifully sweet with a great tomato flavor and the crust had perfect chew, not fluffy or dense which really added to it being a first class slice.

Five stars: Great I might be biased because I was starving after traveling 7-8 hours, but the food here was delicious. We got into NYC around 10 PM, so many places were closed. One of the benefits of this restaurant is that it is open late. It is also close to many of the hotels by Central Park. The staff were friendly. We did not interact with them much because we ordered fast and devoured our food shortly after it arrived. I liked the decor of the restaurant. The upstairs area has a lot of seating if you have a big party. I thought the prices and portions were reasonable. We did not think we were going to be able to eat everything, but we surprised ourselves. I cannot say whether this is the best pizza in NYC, but it was pretty darn good. We would go here again!

Right next to The Tonight Show. There are a couple of "Angelo's Coal Fire Pizza's" in the area, mostly the same menu. This location has more seating up straits so requesting seating upstairs to avoid the awkward on top of your neighbor seating like most NYC establishments. We had the Caesar salad, Italian salad and the cheese ravioli. We enjoyed the food but not the price to portions. Salads are like a side salad and not an entree. Ravioli is delicious. They have a full bar selection with 3 draft beers and another cans wine the wine list look extensive.

A convenient Midtown stop for great Italian food. With a traditional-feeling atmosphere Angelo's has a larger seating area upstairs than downstairs. Located next to the studio where the Stephen Colbert show is taped. Service on a weekday at noon was very good. Only a few parties were eating when we were there. We started with the Grilled Octopus appetizer. The octopus came with capers, a couple different kinds of olives and fingerling potatoes. While bold on salt, but not salty, this was a delicious dish. I ordered the Spaghetti Con Polpette. Polpette are meatballs. The tomato sauce was fresh and excellent, about the best I have ever had. The meatballs were large, tender and mildly seasoned. Overall, an excellent dish. JP opted for the Spaghetti Di Grano Duro Con I Vegetali, a fancy way of saying pasta with vegetables. This dish was quite decent. Our entrees came with warm rolls. The butter packets were cold from the fridge, but I will mostly overlook that because everything else was so good.

We stopped by here before going to Gatsby and had a great time! The food was absolutely delicious - pro tip: ask for pesto sauce on the side and dip your pizza in it... Absolutely to die for!

Great pizza! We wanted a pizza stop that we could enjoy while in NYC! Love the vibes and the service was great! Highly recommend!

a pretty casual restaurant that seems pretty traditional. there's free bread and olive oil for starters. we tried the: - 17" old fashioned margherita ($26) with mushrooms (+$3.95) and sausage (+$3.95) - rigatoni alla vodka - spaghetti con polpette - fried calamari everything was average at best. the meatballs in the spaghetti were kind of mushy, but they were huge. the rigatoni was much better. the calamari were kind of bland but the marinara helped. the pizza was alright, crust was kind of chewy though

Not to be dramatic but this pizza saved our night. After a challenging first day in NYC with travel mishaps, nearly missing entry to Othello, and the most brutal windy rain I've ever walked through, my friend & I stumbled into Angelo's and ate this entire pizza at 11pm. No regrets. Would do it again.

We had a quick dinner (30 minutes) before a Broadway show. It was perfect, fast, delicious and authentic. We ordered the individual margarita and white pies to share between 3 of us. It was perfect because we were hungry. Service was nice, the ambiance is a typical Italian pizza spot. Definitely check this place out if you need something rest but tasty before a show!

My family and I dined here last night after seeing a show on Broadway and I was pleasantly surprised at how hot and fresh the food was! We shared a Salmon Tartare, the Eggplant Rollatini and a 17" Margherita Pizza, all of which were great. The crust was ok, but the sauce and cheese were wonderful. I loved the eggplant dish which had a generous amount of sauce. We shared a pitcher of sangria, which quickly watered itself down and I can't say I'd recommend getting that drink. I'd come here again after a show on Broadway - perfect for a late night bite!

Honestly I wasn't expecting much but I was so impressed! I thought everything was delicious. The salads were huge & came with fresh Parmesan. The mozzarella sticks had the perfect 'pull' & the marinara sauce was flavorful. The brick oven pizza is thin & crisp and juuussttt right. We saved a couple slices and had them for breakfast the next morning & it still tasted great! We were seated quickly without a reservation, but it was a weeknight. The host & server were both friendly & attentive! Of note they don't sell pizza by the slice, but you can order to go! There's kiosks at the front. I definitely think this place is worth a stop especially before or after a Broadway show

The arancini was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, and served with a rich, delicious sauce that tied it all together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. I'd love to see more restaurants creatively use these kinds of spaces in the future.

To start with the good: the arancini were perfectly passable, and the Sicilian pie was enjoyed by all. I would describe it as more of a Detroit style actually, with a super crispy crust and nice textural contrast. On the other hand, we did not enjoy the seasonal vegetable pie or the nepo pie. I generally really like this sort of no-cheese, umami-heavy pizza, but the nepo was so salty! I'm not sure what specific ingredient was missing, but missing it was. My hopes for a recreation of the rossa pie I enjoyed at Farina prior to their closure were dashed. As for the vegetable pie, the vegetables tasted like the frozen veggies one might find in what was once marketed as a "TV dinner". It was a shame, since the sauce of the white pie was otherwise pretty good.

The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard.
