The food is decent, the tea they served ready the moment I sat down along with a glass of water. This establishment is the type of place I go to regularly, the atmosphere is nice and makes me feel at home. The biggest complaint from me is their seats are smudged like they have not been cleaned. We got take out from Emperor's Palace (way better than Burger King that's just across the street) and the food is great! Kids loved their spring rolls and fried wonton and we enjoyed the pan fried noodles. Their chickens wings are so yummy and juicy too! A great little gem! read more

I placed an order for pickup and when I got it home the garlic butter chicken wings had so much salt on them it you could see the granules on them and we couldn't at them. When I called the restaurant they told me to just pour some of the sweet chili sauce on them!?!?. All of the rest of the food was very bland and had no flavor. The breading on the Breaded Almond Chicken and sweet & sour pork, and shrimp was doughy and NOT tempura style. Shouldn't see bread like dough. The BBQ pork was very dry and tough, the breaded Almond chicken had no almonds, the Sweet & Sour pork was so overcooked I couldn't even cut through a piece! Normally we only eat at Golden Star in East Bremerton but they are closed so we thought we would try Emperor Palace, and was so disappointed that I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. I tried to call the restaurant and when the young man answered his English was good and as I was explaining what was wrong all of a sudden he didn't speak English? First and foremost the lady at the counter was VERY rude and even if the food had been good I would not go back but lets talk about the "food". The wonton soup tasted like something frozen and store bought chicken broth with no vegetables in it, no shrimp just a few wontons that were definitely frozen and a ton of green onion. Didn't come close to Mandarin in Silverdale. Any wonton soup I have ever had anywhere has a little cabbage, peas, shrimp and wontons with nice broth. Worst I have ever had. The hot and sour soup was slightly better but nothing to write home about. If you are going to be rude to people at least back it up with good food and yours in NOT!!! By far our favorite Chinese place in Kitsap. The food is always delicious, and the service is incredibly friendly. They treat you like family! My kids love going there, and I love that it is laid back and they don't mind the mess and noise that can sometimes accompany even the best behaved toddlers! The parking lot was good sized and yes the outside of the building does look a little dated, however once you walk inside the front door it is a different story. Instantly greeted by a small asian woman with a lot of eyeshadow, who smiled warmly, took us to a table, told us about her favorite soup of the day (some sort of noodle delight) and let us be. For lunch specials, they had about 14 options, all priced $6-$10. The portions were HUGE. Now let me say, I'm a good eater, I was always a member of the clean plate club, and I couldn't eat all the food. Fresh tasting noodles, nicely cooked vegetables and a nice assortment of side sauces. I would highly encourage you to try them out for lunch and ignore the older reviews. I went there with my husband one night because we were craving some chinese food and yes, we know our good chinese food. After that she finally came back, took our orders and went back to the back of the restaurant. And then I heard something that made my blood froze. She said something in Cantonese which I understood, telling someone in the back that they had an asian girl customer with a white guy, and that I should be embarrassed. I couldn't hear the rest of what she said as she was walking into the kitchen, further away from me but after a while I heard laughter Excuse me? He's my husband and I don't care about skin color difference. I was so mad but I didn't tell my husband what I heard and we continued waiting for the food because we were hungry. Well I ordered prawns in lobster sauce which was not good at all. There were only 7 prawns in my whole $13 dish and the rest was just this veggies covered in goo. I didn't even finish my dish. My husband ordered some mongolian beef which was super oily and he said it was gross. Sure he may be a white guy but we know our food. Let me start with 2 years ago I had Anaphylactic shock, yes I was sent to Harrison in an Ambulance. Long story short, I was told from Dr. Montalbano (Advanced Allergy and Asthma) that I'm highly allergic to Cockroach. In the past I have eaten there over 50 times and the food is good other than the dry fried rice on every combo plate. Since then I have spoken to the Health inspector himself and they have cleaned up the area's they had problems in the past. I look forward to eating some garlic prawns someday soon. read more

Although Emperor's Palace is popular for delivery and take out, I enjoy dining in, as the service, atmosphere, and cleanliness are all some of the best in the business. The owners and staff are all lovely. Everything is consistent. Best Kung Pao in the county. The rice is never over-cooked. There is never a spot on the dishes. The free tea is excellent (jasmine oolong, I believe), and the fortune cookies are the good kind with the little rose on the fortune. They first brought out this soup and the liquid in it was like fat that was a little thinner than jello.
