When I say tiny, I mean five-tables-tiny. Six, if there isn't a large party. By all means, make a reservation. They had no choice but to turn people away Saturday evening. "May I see the wine list, please?" I asked. They don't have one. But they DO have wine, a nice selection from Italy. In describing what I like -- cab or malbec, around $30 -- the owner/server/host, suggested an excellent blend. $27. We started with antipasto. Look at my photo. Does that look good, or what?! Both T and I ordered piccata -- he veal, me chicken. Served over homemade fettuccini, the entrees were light, lemony and delicious. Dessert? Why yes. I asked the owner/server/host what the most popular dessert is. Limoncello cake. Not made in house, but boy, was it good! (I made sure T didn't have more than his fair share.) Not to be a snob, but NYC boasts the most delicious Italian restaurants. We know our food! And son-of-a-gun, three of the five tables tonight were filled with New Yorkers. Everyone other than us had been to Piccolo before. (And yes, I do talk to people I don't know!) If you don't want to wait weeks to get in to Carmello's, give Piccolo a try. I think you'll be pleased.

Came here with my family a few months ago and they are straight from Italy. This was the most authentic Italian food I've ever had. The pasta is so fresh, the meatballs are so tender and flavorful. I was just taken here for a romantic dinner and it was even better than the first time. The owner is so personal and made us feel like we were a part of the family. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone if I could. It has a special place in my heart

Decent spot. Limited time open. Night only. Italian food. Lasagna worth trying. Smaller. Good service.

Ask the Community - Piccolo Italian Restaurant

Are they still open and are they practicing CDC covid guidelines?

Does anyone know if piccolo is still open?

    Yes.

Do entrees come with salad and bread or is it extra?

A salad is a separate item. However excellent Italian crusty bread is provided with the entree item selected. My wife and I enjoy the anti-pasta salad.…

I parked and waited at the bar to be helped. My food was ready! I paid and left. Grateful they gave me silverware. Items were packed carefully. The meatballs were fantastic. I love ricotta on top. The pasta dish was ok. The cheese was so congealed it was like an omelette. I could lift it out of the dish. I'm sure it's better hot and fresh but I don't recommend it as a to go item. I ate some bit saved the rest. The next time I ate it, I reheated it and added more chicken :) It's pretty basic. No complimentary bread. No included salads. But the restaurant is outdoors, casual yet nice. I appreciate the timely to go order. Food is good.

They had very loud music compared to what we normally hear walking by, which was pretty annoying to try to talk. We ordered a ton of small plates to share with the table and there were so many to choose from! The tuna tartare was everyone's favorite but we liked everything. We also ordered the Arancini but that came out after the picture was taken. We had 3 adults and we didn't even finish everything we ordered. The service was great from the host stand, our server, and food runners. The dining area was clean and once the sun went down, they opened the side walls to make it a large open space. We will definitely come back. Our only issue was that the music was just so obnoxiously loud and it made it hard to have a conversation without yelling.

Our server (Sky) was welcoming and attentive. Food - Good. I could have easily assigned the experience 5 stars had the food only been a bit better. This is the second time that I dined at this restaurant. The first time I had a pasta entree and it was extremely salty. We had noticed many other people ordering the pizza then, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the charcuterie and the carne pizza to share with my wife. The pizza was very good. It had a thin crust with ample toppings. The charcuterie was disappointing. At a cost of $24, it was sparse. There three types of meat that were sliced thin into very tiny piles. The cheese consisted of about six very small pieces each of blue cheese and a dry (unrecognizable) cheese. There was a small pile of almonds, a tiny serving of relish and a few pieces of artichoke hearts. Overall Value - Good, but could be much better.

Sky was our server and he was excellent. We started off with the charcuterie board. It showed up with bleu cheese, which neither of us like, so he went and got us some mozzarella, which was very nice. Everything was good, but my only improvement would be to have more than one little piece of bread, maybe some crackers. We then decided to order a carne pizza. The pizza was perfect. Thin crust, tasty sauce and lots of toppings. Unfortunately we couldn't even finish it as we were so full. This was a much better experience than our previous trip.

Our ladies dine on their Italian wedding soup as an appetizer which was hot, flavorful with tiny meatballs, escarole, tiny pasta, and savory broth. Entrees were a myriad of Chef Rocco's delightful dishes, carpaccio, chicken piccata, an array of pasta dishes, Italian sausage & peppers , meatball sandwiches, individual pizza's, and much more. However, the HUGE hit of the day mostly all seemed to desire was their chicken piccata! Oh so delicately delicious! As I've said, we went back for more and will again. Only downside was while the Caprese Salad was good, it was small for price and had only a minute amount of basil. Otherwise, GO. TRY IT.
