Looks like a pretty new buffet with trendy interior decor and LED lighting. Service was pretty good and the price wasn't too bad for a Monday night. My main issues were the selection on weeknights and quality of the food. The selection wasn't great. Pretty limited compared to other Asian buffets. And some of the items weren't great. The pork ribs were chewy and tough. And the sushi was pretty dry, probably because it was sitting out for too long. And it was pretty busy inside. The chicken on a stick and black bean clams were pretty good. Might give it another try, but maybe on a weekend to see if they have sashimi and crab legs. read more

In order to find the best Chinese buffet in the metroplex we had to cast a really wide net. After all, these types of places aren't exactly known for their high ratings. Empire Buffet looked to be the most promising though, so we made the trek out there for a birthday meal. We arrived just before 3pm in the hope that there would be a lull in activity between lunch and dinner. That strategy clearly wasn't effective because it was plenty busy. I guess everyone else had the same idea! As far as the selection, they've got all the usual suspects associated with a Chinese buffet including a hibachi station, sushi, salad bar and even some American foods. The only thing that appeared out of the ordinary was that they had more seafood dishes than other buffets. The food was kind of hit or miss when it came to quality and flavor. For example, the calamari and some of the shrimp were rubbery and didn't taste fresh at all. Other things, like the orange chicken, fried noodles, and oddly enough, the coffee cake, were so tasty they were worthy of getting seconds (or thirds!). Normally, the service at a buffet isn't particularly memorable, except this time it was. Our server attended to our table of 12 like it was her only duty and seemed genuinely happy to do so. Finally get to try this buffet in Duncanville, a little out of the way from Arlington, but price is very good for all the seafood selection that you get. We went on Saturday, $18 per person. You get snow crab legs, snail, blue crabs, a lot of seafood and a good selection of everything, seated right away, no wait. Buffet is very new and clean. I think this one is better than king buffet in terms of seafood selections. read more

Great family experience at any time of the day. The food is so good and plentiful. The people are so nice and don't get in your way. There is everything here to eat if you can think of it from sushi to pancakes. The ambiance is causal and this is great for eating with huge groups or huge appetites. read more

Came by on a Saturday around 2 pm to see what Empire Buffet offers that differentiates them from the other buffets minutes away. Pros 1. Location - right off highway 67 2. Ambiance - trendy with music and lighting 3. Service - nice managers and servers, clean lot and restaurant Cons 1. Location of serving plates - stored under buffet. Open to sneezes and little sticky fingers 2. Food was luke warm unless ordered at hibachi bar 3. Raw peel and eat shrimp not served on ice. Hubby got a few slimy ones. Did not eat It seemed like the amount of options were smaller than their competitors. Food was just that, a buffet. The way the buffet was set up made it seem like it was bigger. The amount of dessert options were smaller. Our total for 2 adult buffets, 1 water and 1 tea was $42, $50 after tip. We will try again during the peak hours when the food is hot. read more

We are elderly (80s) and I'm disabled, asked for help to hold plates/tray through serving line. "No help. You pay. You eat. No time." I politely asked a manager for help. Same response. "No help. No time help. You pay. You eat." Wife and I were stopped at the exit by a customer who had interrupted her family meal. "I will help you." "We really appreciate your kind offer, Miss, but these young Chinese people should be helping, not one of their customers." The young Chinese people were watching and heard me. This place is good. They don't have an ice cream machine, but they do have a chocolate fountain. Service was good. A little bit more expensive than other buffets. I personally prefer Bamboo Palace. read more
