A juicy burger, large fries, and creamy vanilla soft serve was exactly what I needed after a long day of tumbling down the slopes. And Empire Dairy King delivered. Ordering is easy; you order at the counter and they'll give you a number card for pickup. They had affordable pricing and the portions are huge. I got a kid size soft serve, and it was regular sized. You should've seen the look on our faces when we saw someone walk out with a medium size cone (absolutely ginormous). Unfortunately I did not have the chance to take a picture of my meal before completely devouring it, but please enjoy this photo of the view.

Mmmm, what better way to end off some snowboarding in Colorado than to stop by Empire Dairy King on the way home?! Came here after some snowboarding with the awesome sauce Dr. Matthew, Dr. Shannon, and Ryan! The fried mushrooms were life-changing. One bite into them and all the mushroom juices gushed into your mouth! The burger and fries were pretty good too, but the fried mushrooms were the star of the show! I also had a strawberry chocolate milkshake. Surprise surprise, it tasted like chocolate covered strawberries! Step aside Dairy Queen, there's a new empire dairy king in town (what does that even mean)

Been wanting to stop here for years and finally did! Small little local joint super friendly and fast service! Got the cheeseburger with fries and will be back for a shake or softserve! Delicious simple and did not disappoint!!

Love this place. Great ice cream and sorbets. Awesome fries...maybe it was the 15 mile insane hike before??? Nice service.

I love the name! It cracks me up for a long while. The Empire Dairy King has got all the small town ice cream parlor charm you can ask for. But it serves more than just dairy! Classics like burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings... make the place smell greasy but people like us are attracted by the grease and smoke! We waited in line patiently to get our orders. They did not disappoint! Our fries and onion rings came in paper sacks where the oil obviously soaked through. The fries (and our friends let us taste their Sweet Potato Fries) were great. Onion rings are big and just what a child would remember as onion rights. Not the best batter and don't expect "tempura style", but it hits the spot. Unfortunately the dairy goods are lacking. We ordered a pineapple malt but it was just vanilla soft serve with pineapple flavored syrup. And I tasted ice crystals when I ate it with a spoon. Still a must visit spot in Empire!

Simple, straightforward and delicious. I've always driven by this spot and never stopped. Finally made my stop and loved it. It's a humble vibe with kind service. The burger hit the spot, the fries are hot and crispy but did taste a little greasy. The chocolate malt was so good and actually reminded me of a frosty. Will definitely be stopping here again!

Stopped by for ice cream on the way back into Denver after spending the day in Georgetown. There were so many options and flavors to choose from ice cream wise, but we ended up going with the swirl soft serve in cups instead of cones. Very delicious and perfect consistency - exactly what you're looking for when you want soft serve ice cream! After checking out the menu there, we only wished we were hungrier so we could have tried more ice cream and maybe a grilled cheese or chicken sandwich. The place is a tiny, hole in the wall type but at least they had surprisingly decent bathrooms and excellent customer service.

Love this place have to stop on my way home from winter park every time. You have to get their soft serve every time and their grilled chicken sandwiches are really good. It's always busy so expect a wait or a line but they also have good call ahead service if you're in a rush

I'm sorry, is this a perfect cheeseburger? (Yes, it is).

I have such a soft spot for any place that feels like a sneaky, humble, hidden gem and Empire Dairy King is EXACTLY that. I can't even tell you how many times I've done the DEN--WP--DEN drive and seen this place in tiny little Empire and thought "Huh. Looks worth a stop." In truth, it took me over a decade to actually stop. And now I'm sitting here disappointed that I wasted so many years just driving by! Let's start with the menu. SO many options. Burgers! Melts! Dogs! All the fried sides you could dream of wishing for. And then the ice cream and shakes and malts and sundaes. This place truly has it all. A packed menu and (I'm willing to bet) all of it, delicious. My friend and I both got cheeseburgers and loved them. Just a humble little cheeseburger with the works. Nothing fancy, but perfect in its simplicity. A humble, tasty little burger. We also got fries (great) and fried mushrooms (good, but I think I'll try the fried pickles next time I go). And then, obviously, shakes (this place makes a great shake). They have a cozy little seating area inside and more seating on the patio outside. I'd imagine on busy days it may be difficult to find a seat, but I would definitely say it's worth the wait. Please consider this your sign if you're thinking about it: Stop here. Delicious food in a cute little place.

This place is awesome! We stopped here per a friends recommendation on the way back from the mountains and it hit the spot for lunch! We ordered a BLT, bison burger, fried cheese sticks, French fries, soft serve twist, and lemon sorbet. Everything was delicious, especially the BLT. For anybody that loves a BLT, this is the classic one you crave, highly recommend. The service was also on point and quick. It was also PACKED!

We were driving by when I saw the sign for white chocolate dipped cones. I am a big white chocolate fan asp we hung a U-turn and went it. The king is a cute shop. There are tables inside and out. The clerk was friendly, took our orders and got them to us quickly. The ice cream was soft serve although they do have hard ice cream as well. The white chocolate dip did not harden like the regular chocolate dip. It was thick and a little grainy. Overall I am glad I tried it.

The servers were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by the female host's attitude. We were directed to a different entrance and mistakenly thought we could order there since the menus were displayed on her table. Instead of simply explaining the process, she gave us an unfriendly look, seemed annoyed, and had a moment (literal pause for few seconds ) before telling us she was only a host and not taking orders. When we asked for clarification, her response was, "Like I said, you order when you're seated." We also noticed her interacting similarly with other guests--rarely smiling and appearing irritated while speaking with customers. It's disappointing because we were looking forward to try it here, but the lady host's attitude left a bad impression and why in the world they hired someone like her in this nice restaurant , she just painted a pretty bad picture with the restaurant. They're currently pouring ciders from around Colorado as well as other cider-producing regions, which made for a fun tasting experience. It was a great way to try several different styles and producers in one place. The food looked fantastic, and several people sitting near us spoke very highly of what they ordered. We'll definitely be returning to try the menu for ourselves. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to talk cider. The staff was equally welcoming and made us feel right at home. Overall, it was a great experience and a perfect fit for Idaho Springs. We can't wait to come back and spend more time there.

We stopped at Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery because we liked their outdoor seating. The weather was perfect for enjoying a nice, shaded outdoor lunch. Our group of six all ordered water for drinks. The server brought us filled glasses and then told us if we wanted any refills, we could get them ourselves from the big cooler jug outside. Um...okay. The rest of the service was pretty much the same -- apathetic. We ordered a flight of beer for the four adults at the table. It was about $30 and came with about 15 small glasses of cider, one of each flavor they served. We shared it and got to sample everything that way. I ordered the Cider Burger (medium rare) with fries as my side. It came out medium well, which instantly ruins and dries out any good burger experience. The fries were tepid as well. I don't think we even saw our server again until the end, and even then we had to wait for awhile for the check. So, overall, It was just an okay experience. If I'm in the Idaho Springs area again, I wouldn't return to Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery. I'd definitely explore other options.

That part alone earned the review. What happened next is where it goes from bad to embarrassing. Within a day of posting that review, two of their employees, people who have never done business with my company, decided the appropriate response was to go leave fake negative reviews on my business, McAfee Electric. Not a misunderstanding. Not a coincidence. Straight retaliation. So I updated my review with screenshots showing exactly what they did and reached out to management multiple times to give them a chance to fix it. Instead of addressing it, they doubled down. I was told my review was "emotionally based" and that I should be ashamed for including screenshots that show their employees' names and the reviews they chose to post publicly. Think about that for a second. Their employees publicly post fake reviews, and somehow I am the problem for documenting it. That tells you everything you need to know about how this place operates. Bad service is one thing. Every business has an off day. But retaliating against a customer's livelihood and then trying to spin it as the customer being "emotional" is next level unprofessional. If this is how they handle criticism, imagine how they handle anything that actually matters. Plenty of places in Winter Park that know how to run a restaurant and act like professionals. This is not one of them.
