The good: Staff is always accommodating and friendly; smash burger is the best ever experienced (not over/under seasoned; not over-"smashed", grilled onions on point); ); thick bacon on point! ; bathrooms clean/smell good; prices on point with drinks and food, reasonable and on the mark; dill pickle shots = WOW! I recently visited Georgetown, CO from New York, and stumbled into Mother's Saloon -- and WOW, I'm so glad I did. The bartender, Taylor, was hands down one of the best I've ever encountered. She was energetic, welcoming, and somehow managed to make everyone feel like they were the most important person at the bar -- all while keeping drinks flowing at top speed and total efficiency. Taylor has a commanding presence, but in the best way -- she clearly knows what she's doing, and it shows. She's the kind of bartender who can hold the room, keep the vibe high, and also tell you exactly what to try. Came in on Thanksgiving and had one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had. The woman with tattoos behind the bar kept drinking while she was working, and multiple times she disappeared to the back, leaving the entire bar with no bartender at all. At one point we were ready to close our tab, and there was literally no one to be found. It was unprofessional, uncomfortable, and honestly pretty shocking to see staff drinking more than the customers. Definitely not the experience we expected on a holiday. read more

Good selection of food and drinks. Someone mentioned needing a credit card to start a tab but I was able to pay with cash and be trusted, so who knows? Anyway I have been here twice and each time left with a full belly and the appropriate amount of drinks for the money. Good value for what you pay for, that's hard to find. There is no better way to put this but some dive bars are sad. I'm giving this place a 3 star since it's clean. Other than that it's a sad place for Georgetown locals to do some self loathing. This is where mountain town folks in the area go to the ponder what they did wrong in life. The food is okay but if you wanna be depressed while listening to a combination of horrible trap mumble mouth hip hop and some country music from the juke box, this is your place. Even writing this review is making me depressed reminiscing on the depressing atmosphere. With not many options in Georgetown, CO, this place fills the gap quite well. We were just passing through and glad we found this place. Very comfortable and friendly. Plenty of things to drink on tap (or in a bottle). We arrived a little late to get the full menu options but the chicken fingers satisfied. Tons of character here, and the service is spot on. Local joint if not the ONLY true bar in town! Situated right on Clear Creek you wanna go out back and smoke something and just take in the view/ trust me. Lots of local beer and they even had an amazing Pineapple IPA from Crooked Stave on tap. Patrons are mostly locals, some aggressive hounds lurking so don't leave any FEMALE at the bar by herself! Went in here on a Saturday night to an interesting collection of urban snow folks coming back from the mountains mixed in with locals. Georgetown is a pretty small town just off the 70 and this is one of the first bars you'll find. The bartender when I was there was super nice and the drinks were solid. A jukebox had some classic rock stuff on it and this place seems to be a Sublime bar with a lot of posters and signed stuff as well as their CDs in the jukebox of course. Local dive bar (in the good way), dive bar parking lot (in a not so good way). There's obviously a lot of history here, and luckily its friendly enough inside to get some of those stories out of people. The bartender (hair done by Harley Davidson) was very friendly, though she seemed a bit overwhelmed by all of the customers, so we had to wait a little long which was mostly our fault (we just sat down, probably should have gone up to the bar). Local ladies Jill and Gail showed my mom, dad, and myself around and made us feel welcome, and the little chihuahua charmed me at the first ear scritch Its a bar first and restaurant second, in that there's a menu, but only alcohol and traditional mix-ins to drink (cola, sprite, O.J. etc.). Food is pretty damned good for a bar, my mother had a burger and (big) onion rings, which she said was among the best she's had in CO., my dad had the cheesesteak special of which he happily ate every bite, and I had the Dip which was big and juicy, and some wonderful fries. OK I will admit that I was looking for a dive bar on the way to summit county, we'll look no more it is found!! Small bar in George Town resembling a spot a biker gang would hang out at (but they dont). A relatively nice atmosphere (for a dive bar) and a deck overlooking the creek of Georgetown. A quick drive from Denver along I-70, Mother's Saloon exceeded our expectations. The owner and his wife and daughter greeted us warmly and served excellent fish and shrimp tacos. We enjoyed the patio overlooking the Creek and met very nice people enjoying the Sunday afternoon. read more
