We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite and yelp reviews were great so we decided to stop in. We were immediately greeted with smiles and seated. Interior looked nice and newly renovated and really clean (the window sill *was*a bit dusty but I'm kind of a freak about that stuff so I'm not holding it against them lol). My wife and i had to stop to let our kids use the bathroom so my wife walks in to see if they where open and then comes back out to inform me they where open and the tall guy behind the counter that works there came out and told my wife and i we couldn't bring our kids in to use the bathroom because we didnt have a clasy wardrobe on. Its not even that clasy inside the restaurant. They should'nt judge a book by its cover. I think its very rude they would not allow our kids to use the bathroom. I would NOT recommend eating at this restraunt for having terrable service to people. read more

Yesterday was my first time as a customer at Empire Grill. We had a little bit of a larger sized party (8) so we arrived well before the lunch rush. I will say the updates are beautiful and the restaurant was very clean. The food portions are some of the largest I have ever seen. My Greek salad was perfect, however, others in our party were unhappy with their order. The one thing that will keep me from coming back was the terrible service we experienced from our waitress. I'm unsure if maybe she is a little inexperienced at waitressing, but she was awful. She brought out our food in such an odd order. I received my salad, but did not receive the dressing for my salad or the pita bread until about five minutes later. She brought out a person's food at our table every 5+ minutes, not all together so we could all eat at once. We had to wait ten minutes for a carry-out container. When we asked for our bills, her response was, "I'll get to it when I can, my section is full now." She later asked if I also wanted a carry-out container, but I refused because I could not wait ten more minutes for her to return again. There is a lot of competition for this type of diner in the Sterling Heights area, so service always needs to be top-notch. I'll probably give Empire another chance because maybe this particular waitress was newer or maybe just having a bad morning. If you are in a rush, this may not be the place you want to stop at for a quick lunch as there are many other places that can accommodate the lunch rush much better. read more

Love this place! I had dinner with my dad after a long day of working outside. We had saganaki, lemon rice soup, split pea soup, hamburger, and the pan fried lake perch. THE BEST strawberry pancakes I've had in a while! I have ordered here with my office multiple times and were satisfied every time! There have been a few snags here and there but the way it's handled always makes up for it. The owner (or manager) called himself and cleared any issue up immediately. The food was better this time but the service is lacking, several tables with empty water glasses or beverages, got our order wrong she had a attitude and flipped back through her ticket book and read it out loud then said ohhhh. This place is SO GOOD! I used to go to LA Coney all the time and when I saw that this place was opening up I was excited to check it out. I looked for a menu online and was pleasantly surprised to find a very nice website along with menu AND they deliver! I called and placed a delivery order and they were here in less than 30 minutes with a warm chicken caesar wrap, chicken noodle soup and Iced Tea ($15 delivery min. which is totally doable). The woman on the phone who took my order was very thorough and nice and the guy who delivered my food (Paul) was SO sweet! He was so appreciative of my business and seemed genuinely happy to be bringing me my food. Then I started eating and the food was DELICIOUS!!!! I had the chicken stir fry and a pita melt w/ chili fries. Everything was amazing. The food seasoned perfectly and the chicken w vegetables to rice ratio was perfect. Most places fill your order with rice so I really appreciate that. The Patty Melt could have a few more grilled onions. That being said the flavor was amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. They rent the place unfortunately the outside doesn't do justice for how nice it is on the inside. Whoever owns the shopping center should appreciate his tenants and reface the center. read more

Parents got us into this spot for after-church meals to share some good food and conversation. Hits the right breakfast & brunch offers on the menu. I like it and it's a solid restaurant. Can't go wrong with their signature omelette or side of fries. Look sometimes I want a thin crisp shoestring French fry and other times something more hearty. They have the hearty and crunchy textured light seasoning French fry that's great! Had the corn beef hash and just okay. The gluten eating crew really enjoys their cinnamon raisin bread that is good, delivered fresh, hot and buttered again it's hard to not enjoy that. As a foodie picky kinda lady about my brunch spots I like a menu special that's fun and creative and kinda makes me drool. They are a couple steps up from diner coney so it's fresh and quality food that's not frozen or in a can but it's a good size menu to choose a sandwich or entree for dinner or soup. All good but for me on a 5 star I'm looking for the little touches of character and amazing service and a few creative menu dishes that set you apart. My daughter and I came in tonight for dinner. It was our first time here, we were looking for a new diner to try in the area. Saw this one on Yelp and decided to try it. Upon entering the place was well decorated, very clean, new everything it seemed, and about 4 or 5 other families inside having dinner (a Tuesday night). We were told to sit wherever we liked and chose a booth. Our waiter (didn't get a name... tall blonde haired male) greeted us warmly and was very knowledgable about the menu. Friendly and kind, with pleasent conversation. We ordered the salmon dinner with sweet potatoe fries & the Dinty Moore corned beef sandwich. Both were amazing!! Really really good. I couldn't put the salmon down, it is drool worthy. My daughter loved her sandwich and we were raving to each other the entire time.
