We haven't been over to Empire in awhile but last night planned for pizza and wings. Unfortunately to our surprise we were told by the lady cashier that we could not order from next door at wing shack and bring it over to eat with our pizza. When I ordered from wing shack they welcomed us to bring our pizza over to their place to eat their wings. I appreciate Wing Shack. As far as Empire, they have lost my business. I have a Wing Shack on the west side of town. I will gladly get my pizza from somewhere else and order wing shack over here. Sorry you cant put aside hard feelings and get along with your neighbor but you lost a customer last night. Greeley's best pizza by a long shot. Thin crispy crust done right in a proper over. No conveyor belt oven here! I really appreciate their good sliced sausage, not those nasty precooked crumbles you get at a chain place. Nice to have a good slice option in town for when a quick lunch is in order. Pizza is the star here, but there are some other highlights too: -Pizza rolls are bomb! -The croutons on their salads seem to be made in house and make getting a salad worth in on their own. -You can order wings from Wing Shack next door to enjoy with your pizza! My only complaint would be occasionally they get a bit aggressive with their cheese/toppings and the thin crust doesn't hold up. We got the Brooklyn Bridge pizza (I think that's what it was called, lots of pepperoni and garlic), and it was incredible. The crust was delicious too. The large pizza is the biggest I've ever seen. The staff is friendly and fantastic. This is hands down the best pizza I've had since moving to Greeley. This pizza would stand up in any major city including NY. The pizza is big, thin, and delicious it's exactly what N.Y. style pizza should be ( foldable slices ) If you like a thicker crust or something else local like BlackJack then you may not like this as much but it's hard to imagine not liking this place. There are many styles of pizza and they are doing the N.Y. style perfectly. I just wish they would deliver to my side of town, until then I'll go pick one up when I crave pizza. We've actually been here 5 times. The staff have been wonderful each time! They acknowledge my 11 year old son when he is at the counter for something. A lot of places ignore him if I'm not with him. Placed an online order and was told 15-20 minutes, past experiences told me to allow an extra 10 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes after and they had not even started the order yet. Was told it would be another 15-20 minutes but they would call my name out when the order was done. After 25 minutes went back to the counter again and asked how much longer and after another 5 minutes for them to find the order I was out the door. When our friend suggested this last weekend, I was skeptical because I don't usually like NY style pizza; I find it too greasy and difficult to eat. But I was really pleasantly surprised by Empire State Pizza. It was really good and not very greasy at all (Pizza Hut is more greasy, in my opinion). Have had problems with food never showing up before but tonight was the final straw. Ordered through noco nosh and waited the allotted time plus some which ended up being 2 hours and nothing ever came. Calling the restaurant led to some confusion as they "couldn't find the order" and then somehow magically they did. Spoke to manager mike who offered to put the pizza first priority and give a credit for next time. This seemed like a good solution so we accepted. It's now been an hour and a half and nothing has ever showed up. When we called to speak to a manager again, and all we got was that they couldn't hear us on the phone. One day I was craving pizza and stumbled upon the great reviews of empire state pizza. As I scrolled through the reviews, I changed my mind to getting a calzone with cheesy bites as my appetizer. I placed an order through orderup, the delivery service. For my calzone, I wanted to make my own so I put in Italian sausage, pineapples and banana peppers. The calzone itself is huge- big enough to share between 2 people. However I was saddened by a lack of cheese and an overload of sausage. I am a meat lover and carnivore by heart, but it stuns me to say there was too much meat in this calzone. And I only got a frugal drizzle of pineapple- maybe 5 bite size pieces in all, same for banana peppers. The proportions were all wrong and it didn't make my calzone enjoyable. The cheesy bites were just ok- once they cool they get a bit rubbery so eat them while they are fresh! With so many pizza options in Greeley, I'm not sure if I'm willing to give empire a 2nd chance if I'm craving a calzone. read more

I hade a Caesar side salad, it was mostly iceberg lettuce with a handful of tiny croutons and the dressing was NOT real Caesar. The Florentine chicken sub looked and smelled like vomit on bread and that made it hard for me to eat. We've been grooving on the pizza from here lately but were in the mood for something different and decided to try the calzones. Hubby chose cream cheese, black olives and garlic for his calzone fillings and I chose garlic, red onion and mushrooms. The calzones were good. This is the best pizza I've found in Greeley. I tried the rest and this pizza has come out on top hands down. I'd give 5 stars but one time I ordered their version of a supreme and the center of the pie was really soggy. I've ordered the same thing again and didn't have an issue so I have to assume it just wasn't cooked right that one time. If you are considering ordering from another pizza joint in Greeley, don't waste your time and money. This is literally the only place in Greeley worth messing with. The crust is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, toppings all seem to be high quality. The sauce is good, and they don't put too much on. The Buffalo Chicken Rolls are good too if you want a change of pace. The competitors pies I've tried in Greeley have run the gamut of OK to pretty f'n terrible. When I first moved to Greeley I ate here and didn't really care for Empire. I returned with coworkers recently and found that I liked it. They have the most enormous pizza and their calzones are pretty amazing. I like that you can order at Wing Shack too. Definitely worth a second try. read more
