Nothing but the best from this shop! I bought a used RAV4, 2011, 22,000 miles from Freeman Toyota, and got on the freeway and it made a high pitched noise. I thought it was normal for a long time. It got worse so asked them about it and they checked it out. The owner said to use my extended warranty I bought with the used card and get it fixed at Freeman Toyota. I was treated with respect and dignity by everyone there...the cost was $100 less than the least expensive Honda/Acura shop in SLO. Everything was written down and explained to me in detail when I picked up my car -- Dan came out and went over everything with me. I was contemplating buying a Camry and wanted to have a mechanic check it out before I signed the dotted line. Both people I asked for recomendations pointed me in the direction of Empire Zoo. In fact, my friend ( a good customer) called ahead for me to let them know they were sending me. The owner, Dan, took about 30 minutes to do all kinds of checks, drove it around for a few minutes and talked to me about what work the car needed. Finally!!! It took trying five other mechanics before I finally found Dan and Emily's shop. They run a place that is honest, reasonably priced, and treats everyone with respect. Dan was able to diagnose and fix the problems that came with my new/used car, and has been proactive with all of my vehicles, since. They read the service manuals, and the manufacturer updates, and know how to do everything, or where to take it to get it done, if they don't. Dan always explains everything, and saves the old part for me to examine. And now their two sons are part of the crew! Last year, my man and I traded in our impractical 1977 Mercedes diesel for two modern Subarus. Well, ok, so one of the those subarus isn't quite modern, but it is fuel-efficient and simply cheap to maintain. *Especially* given that we take both cars to Empire Too, where no one seems the least bit interested in ripping us off or even padding the bill just a tad in their favor. My dad had a car dealership when I was a girl and I grew up believing everyone in any auto-related business was at least part con-man, dad included. But Dan, the owner of Empire Too, completely demolishes those stereotypes. Our cars are always dealt with in a timely fashion, even the week of Thanksgiving. The prices are reasonable. We've needed to have just a couple of parts replaced, as we bought our cars used and they are both more than ten years old. Each time, Dan asked us to research the cost of the parts and repairs before he went ahead with the work. And he's even sent us on our way without charge for a couple of jobs that took less than five minutes. If you drive a Japanese car, please do yourself a favor and take it to Empire Too. Been going to Empire Too for YEARS! They have worked on my last 3 Honda's and they are FANTASTIC. Dan and Justin, are great to talk to and explain everything that is going on. I had my tires done at a local spot and they told me that I had some items to fix on my car before they could balance the tires. They said they would do it for $700! I called Dan and he took a look at what I needed. This fix ended up costing me $120 at Empire Too. Would ever go any other place! read more

I've been taking several cars to Empire Too for several years. Usually after the warranty service expires. They are absolutely top notch. They review what was done when you pick up your vehicle. Even to the point of showing the parts that were replaced. There prices compared to dealers I've used are more than reasonable. The only drawback with this repair facility is that sometimes you might have to wait 2-3 weeks for your appointment. I think that is a sign of high demand from much repeat business. read more

The best, responsive, efficient. When I get a check engine light I just drive in and 10 minutes later they have interrogated the computer and sent me on my way with a plan. The only down side: They are so good and honest that the waits for routine maintenance can be long, but you drive out with feels like a new car at a very fair price. read more

Their work is always guaranteed and they never recommend unnecessary work. I made an appoint mentioned early in the week to get my window fix, the driver window stopped rolling down and it's been really hot. But the day before my appointment I was unfortunately laid off. Not knowing the outcome of my future I called to cancel my appointment to preserve my savings. They refused saying that it's been to hot and the a need to breath a bit easier with the turn of events in my life. They made an agreement to fix it with an open ended time for me to pay them back. A friend referred my husband & I almost 10 years ago & we have been loyal customers ever since. A couple of years ago they went above & beyond with customer service & I have been meaning to write a review ever since. I dropped off my Acura RSX a couple of days before Thanksgiving & when I told them I was going out of town the owner, Dan, offered to take my car to his home rather than leave it sitting in their parking lot while the shop was closed. He would bring my car back to the lot on Fri & lock the keys in it so I could pick it up. On Fri my car wasn't there & I went into a bit of a panic all weekend long. Their answering machine doesn't allow you to leave a vm & I hadn't thought about asking for Dan's home #. First thing Mon morning Dan called apologizing profusely that he had forgotten to bring my car back. I was greatly relieved my car hadn't been stolen but a little peeved at the scare & inconvenience. However, I understood he had been with his family over the holiday weekend & was really doing me a huge favor by even offering to secure my car to begin with. When I arrived to pick up my car Dan apologized again & offered me a 50% refund on my repairs. I was floored! The repairs were needed, done well & had nothing to do with the communication snafu. It was obvious that the gesture was made solely to show how much they value their customers Empire Too does great repair work. They notify you immediately if they find something, show you the old parts, check for free any weird noises & stand behind anything they have previously worked on. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly & efficient. I actually enjoy chatting with them during my visits. These guys are so great. I recently took my car in for a medium service, and told them I would be taking a long road trip. They checked everything out for me, and told me to bring it back for a quick check just before I left. They even went above and beyond to retrieve a key that had fallen between the seat and console.
