The only nail shop I will go to in Houston. I'm not originally from Houston, TX, however this nail shop gives me the feeling of my former go to nail shop in my hometown. Very homey and everyone is nice and accommodating. It's not your top notch nail bars that you'll find around Houston, however that doesn't bother me at all. It's perfect. Mimi is my nail tech, she knows what I like and I always leave satisfied. I recently got the OPI Sugar scrub pedicure, absolutely wonderful!! My feet still feel soft and smooth. The prices are good compared to other places and they take their time. I choose to schedule my appointments, however they do accept walk-ins. read more

This is my go to nail shop. I've never had a bad experience here. They are a very busy shop! The workers are all very nice and good at what they do. Usually I only go for a pedicure with the occasional manicure here and there. This visit I decided to get my nails done. I did a full set with the powder. Total $45. They are a little longer than I would have liked but I'll just get them cut down when I go back. read more

This owner of this little 25 year old nail salon probably has one of the sweetest, most inspirational nail salon stories I've ever heard. While getting my brows waxed by Lily, the owner of the salon, I asked why her English was so good. Cuz we all know the countless numbers of times we've always had to repeat ourselves over and over at these nail salons, ("Whaat? No I don't want "crital jail"!). But her English... She formed complete sentences! And pronounced every letter! I was so impressed. But it hadn't always been like that for her. When she first moved here 25 years ago... her English was awful, and she cried every night because she was so frustrated that she couldn't speak to her customers. She wanted to say so many things, but there was such a huge language barrier! One day, one of her customers told her, "Don't cry, honey! It's okay! You just have to practice!". The next day Lily said that very customer returned with a children's book... and took the time to slowly teach her her ABC's, how to pronounce things, how to read. "Keep trying! And watch lots of TV! TV is good just listen to it!" So over the years Lily practiced and practiced (and probably watched lots of TV). Now her English is pretty impressive for a Vietnamese nail salon owner! And that customer? Yep! You betcha! 25 years loyal and probably one of her best customers! The warmth of this nail salon truly reflects in all the customers that come in too. While getting my nails done by Angela (the sweetest gay guy ever! And nail quality on point!) I noticed a constant flow of customers coming in. But they were never mad that the wait was soooooo long! In fact, some of them just marched right on in and made themselves comfy around the salon. ("Don't worry, I know yall packed imma just sit down over hurr and watch some tv I ain't in a hurry momma"). One lady waited beside me for 1.5 hours jUST to get her brows done by lily. Apparently it was her birthday too! So Lily didn't charge her, told her not to worry about it. Now if that's not warmth, I dunno what is. Anyways I shared that story because I wanted to thank whichever customer it was, who from the kindness of their own heart, first taught Lily English. Not everyone takes the time to be kind to foreigners, let alone an immigrant you just met working in a random nail salon. You are a kind soul. Thank you. I hope you read this. "Wait but who's Sonny though?! The salon's name is Lily Nails by Sonny!" you ask? Well you're just gonna have to ask Lily for yourself when you come in to get your nails done. :) (My total was $54... $8 brows, $18 shellac nails no mani, $28 deluxe pedi. A bit pricey. At first I was concerned that the guy doing my nails didn't understand anything I was saying but then I was pleasantly surprised that he gave me a beautiful manicure. I soaked off my organic powder overlay and was going to try acrylic overlay again but decided to just let my nails breathe a while. Benny was thorough and pleasant and this place is close to home! This was my first time coming and while my experience was good, I won't be returning. I got a shellac manicure, pedicure, and an eyebrow wax. The manicure was nice when I left but I knew they wouldn't last long due to being painted so close to my nail bed. Today is Sunday and I went on Tuesday of last week so it hasn't been a full week yet and my nails look terrible. They are closed today so I can't even go get them fixed before leaving out of town for the week. I'm very disappointed because this was a waste of $30 and my time. read more

First time coming here but probably won't be my last. I just moved and was looking for a new nail shop and I might've found it! I came on a Friday afternoon around lunch time and I didn't have to wait. I got a shellac full set and pedicure. The place quickly filled up but they still took their time on my nails. I had been looking for a new nail place since being relocated due to Hurricane Harvey. Out of frustration I turned to Yelp only to find this place. My first experience was incredible! I arrived right at their closing time and Ms. Lily told me no worries, she'll be right with me. She is so sweet and her conversation made me feel like family. I was her last client last night but she took her time to insure I was happy with my nails. I have found my new spot! She told me that she never reads her Yelp reviews and I encouraged her that she really should! So if you're reading this Ms. Lily, thank you! This place has so many good reviews that I was excited to go and try them out. I walked in and told them I needed a simple soak off. She asked if I wanted a full set and I told her no just a soak off. I was contemplating getting a pedicure as well but I wanted to look around and see how good their work was. I was instructed to sit in the last chair and everyone was busy with other customers. I sat for 15 minutes with no one acknowledging me or I letting me know how long it would be. I've been getting my nails done for 18 years at various places and multitasking is a big part of salon management. No one got up to take 14 seconds to put acetone and water in a bowl so my nails could begin soaking. I won't be returning. read more

Took my mom to this nail salon before a wedding reception. They offered her a beverage right after she sat down and they got to her quickly. Granted, I had also called in to make an appointment but we got there earlier than the appointment time. She got a shellac manicure and pedicure for $62 ($30 for the hands, $32 for the feet). Over all, a pretty good deal and they spent about an hour and fifteen minutes on her. I guess only time will tell to see if the shellac actually holds up. I'd recommend this place. read more

Great salon for mani/pedi, refills, shellac, etc. Staff has all been here a while so they know what customers like. They will do you nails exactly how you like. They are friendly. Weekends they are pretty full so you may have to wait. It's up to if you want to wait. During the week not as busy. I recently moved back to city and this is still my go to nail salon. Prices are good and color selection is great. They do great jobs on acrylic and powder refills. read more

I've been to five different nail salons since I moved here. I've finally found the salon for me. Great customer service and very friendly atmosphere. I went here because i read So many good reviews I loved the way my nails looked, i went on Saturday by Wednesday my nails were already popping off i was very disappointed Mind you I have an office job. I've have been coming to this salon for years. Up until about a year ago I never had any issues. Let's start with the extensive wait times. During peak times they need more staff to service guest. Guest do not have 30minutes to wait for service after they quoted 15min. Since I am unable to get my nails done due to profession, I only get waxing. I can come in and they always tell me to come back. Today, I went in at 9:13, 13min after opening and was told to come back later. I can come in at 5 and will be told to come back later. Is my money not enough for service? Do I need to make an appointment? After this last incident I will not be returning. If you are on a time limit or not spending 30+ dollars keep driving past. read more

Went super early right when they opened. Place smelled great was and was clean. Tech took care of me got a full set and a pedicure. Nothing out of ordinary I observed. They used liners while doing pedicure pulled tools out of new packaging. Only thing I did see was they refilled oPI polish bottles with other polishes that were not labeled. read more

Avoid! This joint it located in a hole in the wall strip mall that should have been my time to run away. However, I was in an urgent need to a mani and it was the first nail place I came across. Not only is the place run down, has 70's decor but they do a poor job. The technician cut me twice and it was the most awful manicure experience ever. I have been getting weekly manicures for the past 20 yrs and it was the first time it felt miserable. To top it off they charge high end prices. A manicure in this place should not be more than $10, actually even if it was free I would never come back. read more

I went here today based on the recommendation from the ladies at the front desk of the Marriott Courtyard and they were amazing! I am in town on business and needed a pedicure and dipping powder on my nails. I stopped at a place yesterday and they did a terrible job. I had to go to Lily's so they could fix everything. They started from scratch and did such a good job. Very detail oriented and very friendly. I would recommend to everyone!!! read more

It does not matter if you get here first. They will take their old customers first and won't even let you know how much longer you will wait. I won't come back here again unless i have a bunch of time. There are a lot of places that don't make you wait so long. Bad customer service. My pedicure was pretty though after all the waiting. read more

Went in to get a full set of nails. Walked in and asked and they said they could do it. I was promptly seated and offered a beverage. Then I sat there waiting for over 30 minutes while 4 employees say at the table next to me having a fun conversation and playing on their phones :( I finally got up and left when almost all the tables were empty and I was still waiting. read more

KK and Kim were amazing. I came back three weeks later for my birthday and it was not a fluke. The staff also surprised me by singing happy birthday. It was super cute. I will definitely be rebooking. Just a note: I usually go get my nails done at off times to avoid crowds and parking is usually decent (can find a spot without waiting but lot is pretty full). I am not sure what it is like during busy periods.

I came in for a manicure pedicure. For the manicure, I wanted builder gel with design on a couple of my nails and pedicure. Just a regular gel pedicure Pedicure: if I come back again, it's only exclusively to get a pedicure done and that to a basic gel pedicure. And that's because of the 20% of discount that I can get. Other than that, even the pedicure was suboptimal. The massage was just a lady rubbing her finger around in circles around my foot and a little bit of my ankle. No pressure whatsoever and didn't even massage my calf. On top of that, everyone around me was getting a neck massage after or some sort of back massage. I didn't get anything like that. The pedicure cost for what I get is still pretty expensive including the 20% off discount where I might as well go somewhere else get everything I get for the same exact cost. Manicure: I'm actually embarrassed right now to show my nails off for the next month. I do nails at home so I have somewhat of an idea as to how the quality of the builder gel should look as well as certain nail paint and nail design. I got a cat eye done, and I can see the brush strokes of the nail paint on my nails of the cat eye. I can also see the difference of the layers that she did on my nails. I can see the basic nail paint then I can see on the side of my nail where she didn't cover my entire nail with the cat eye color. On top of that my nails are not rounded evenly. They are all not equal in length. The nail paint isn't even applied evenly. It's applied at an angle so you can tell where it's close to touching my cuticle to where there's a solid gap between my cuticle area and the nail polish. The design isn't even remotely close to what I showed her. When I made the appointment, I asked them to book me with someone who can do nail art because I've had bad experience with nail art not looking remotely close to what I show. They promised they would book me with someone who's experienced. I hate to say this, but I could have done a better nail art job by myself. The cherry on top for me was when I had to apply my own cuticle oil on my own nails. At the end of the day if I ever come back here, it's to get a basic pedicure done with the 20% off discount. They are not good at doing cat eye. I'm not saying this based off of my experience. I'm also saying it based off a couple of friends who got cat eye here and were disappointed. The level of work I got done with the 20% off discount is how much I pay at a regular nail salon so I might as well just go to regular nail salon especially if they up-charge here to then give me a " 20% off ".

I asked for a luxe pedicure she gave me a rush job. At first she stated she couldn't do it, due to an incident that happened at her home. I was getting ready to leave. Then, she stated she could do it. I got a shellac pink on my hand and feet. Wendy basically stated that African American people do not pick a light color. They like brighter colors like blue, green, orange basically a bold color. I felt it was very stereotypical. All people get all colors. I came back the next day for the manicure. I had to ask her several times to get the skin off of nails. She did a horrible job. She kept saying she would get the dry skin after. I feel like if you don't want to do the job right. Do not take the customer. I will post a picture of the side of my nails after the manicure. Wendy, kept stating I will get it later. Wendy, also asked me for a tip after the manicure. If you do a good job. People will give you a tip. You don't have to ask. The pictures were taken right after the pedicure. The vibe was ok. I also have a tip for the pedicure yesterday. The tip is also that someone brought you business in to your place of work. A tip is earned.
