The service here is great. They will help you make choices that will fit your design aesthetic and your budget. That being said, their pricing is quite misleading. We went in one day and asked about the pricing for their Landscape Canyon tile. We were told it was something like $14 a foot!! Looked online and everywhere it was between $4 and $5 per foot. What I learned was that they give contractors they work with what they call "wholesale pricing" which is really just what retail is on the internet and everywhere else that you can buy their branded product. That was a little upsetting. I was under the impression that I was getting a deal but in reality I was not. I paid $3,000 for everything (product and necessary materials) and another $2,500 to get it installed. Project was about 500sf--three bathrooms, kitchen, pantry. I was happy with the quality of their product, which greatly exceeded both my expectations and anything offered at Home Depot or Lowes. Their so-called 3D printing for stone tile is incredibly realistic. We wanted tile for longevity and ease of cleaning and we could not be happier with the appearance of our floors. Just make sure you do not pay their "retail price," if necessary get them to price match what's available on the Internet or just buy online from another retailer (Emser seems to sell true wholesale to other outlets and they in turn sell at the same price offered to contractors). All in all I'm happy and would recommend Emser to others, with the above caveat of course. Oh, and we got three bids. One guy told us that he could "get us a deal" and that the product would only cost $6 per foot. Shady. If you're going to go with one of their recommended contractors, use Doug Anderson from Designer Tile. Working with Doug was quite literally the best home improvement experience I could imagine. He was accommodating, professional and incredibly talented. Doug, you probably won't see this but you are truly awesome!

Granite Outlet - This was our favorite for my friend's remodel.

    Granite Outlet

Adj: Extensive (as in extensive selection)…read more My friend and I came to check out granite outlet on a frigid winter day right before the end of 2025. It was a cold, but at least it was a dry day. We drove all the way out here from West Sac, but it only took about 20-25m. Not bad on 50 going east. This is the original store iirc. They no longer have the store on 52 Ave near Sac State, but they still have the Sunrise one. We came here first thinking they have all the selection, but it turns out this location has all the NATURAL stones and only SOME of the engineered stones (read quartz which is NOT quartzite, yes, it gets confusing), so we did end up going up a few miles to the Sunrise branch too (see my review of that one shortly). This store has SO much to choose from! We felt like little kids in a candy store (except for the shivering from the cold, lol). My friend's trying to remodel a couple of bathrooms in her home so she's looking for something that's understated, but yet elegant and timeless, not flashy or loud, but still aesthetically tasteful. Unfortunately, she didn't find exactly what she was looking for in the material she wanted it in, for durability, but she found one that just *might* work so we went ahead and got a quote for material and labor and the price wasn't bad at all. You can see there are just so many designs and patterns to choose from, it can get dizzying and overwhelming, so I highly suggest not coming here alone, but w/a friend (or a partner if s/he has the patience and interest), and then doing a lot of decisive eliminations, so you can get down to a short-list or else you'd be here for a LONG time, lol. I enjoy design and remodeling type of challenges, even if it's not my project, so I was happy to come w/my friend to give her my 2 cents and to see what's new w/trends and prices, etc. If you're looking for a baseline for a project, G.O. is probably one of the best (if not the best) place for a quote. They have crews that they send out to do their projects if you don't already have a contractor. My friend was worried that there'd be pressured sales and I reassured her that this is definitely a DIY type of place that you can browse as you like w/NO pressure to buy at all. In fact, no one came up to say hi or ask us if we needed anything, so if you're comfortable w/this (or even prefer it), this is the place to go.

Because the…read morenew baseboards are taller, we had an ugly mismatch in the transition from the living room to the hallway. Checked all local home improvement stores and none of them had the size of baseboards that floor installers put in. Finally, after days of searching, I stumbled upon Moulding Base and checked their website. The website doesn't show what they have in store, so I gave them a call to check, and they confirmed the baseboard is in stock. Even though Rancho Cordova is not our part of the woods, we drove over to the business park where Moulding Base is located to pick it up. They also deliver, but I did not check how much it would be, since the distance might not warrant the cost for us. If someone lives closer and doesn't have a pick-up, this is definitely an option worth exploring. Since these baseboards come in 16 feet pieces, we had to have it cut in half, so it would fit over the gate in my pick-up. They will gladly cut the baseboards in the back before loading the product in. The store has all sorts of baseboards and moulding, just as the name implies. If it exists, most likely they will have it here, and if not they can order it. While I won't be coming here every time when replacing baseboards, in case there is something non-standard that local Home Depot doesn't carry, I now know where to go.
