Prices okay. All golf courses are price gouging these days. Definitely not worth it but it is okay. However two cheeseburgers and onion rings $40. Show up to pay and the girls are expecting a tip for making a cash exchange on a register. And give you a terrible look because you're not leaving a gratuity. The audacity. $15 burrito. You order a bacon and egg burrito. End up taking a bite and it's full of onions and peppers. Can't take a simple order. It's a 25 cent charge for a couple of eggs and a 20 cent tortilla. You guys are definite price gougers. If anyone deserves a tip it's a Mexican guy who's working his ass off behind on the grill. Get rid of the girls. Golf course is in decent shape. Not a bad golf course. Guy at the pro shop total clown show. Has a terrible attitude and this is borderline confrontational. Just give it right back to him and he puts he puts his tail in. Genuinely the worst course I have ever played on. I live in Arizona where it's currently 115+ and the grass conditions there are better then they are at enagic. There's chuncks of fairway missing and gopher holes,gravel, and grass trimmings in every single area of the ruff. Somehow this course costs $150...... I genuinely felt like I was being scammed. On top of all this there is no ranger that goes out and monitors pace of play. Me and my brother were stuck behind a twosome that held everyone back and put everyone an hour + over pace. And the pro shop guy was your typical emotionless and rude pro shop guy who you just can't stand to talk to. I've golfed many courses cheap and expensive and NOTHING was ever as bad as enagic. Welp I praised this course a few years ago after the new owner took over and really turned the course around. It was beautiful, but now it seems to be falling right back to where it was. Patchy fairways and sand traps that are practically mud. I have no idea what happened along how the course has seemed to go backwards. Inwas recently there and just saw that they require you to purchase a residence card for $40 so you can get the residence fee? I can just show you that I live in this area via other documents. Seems like a money grab which is in poor taste. A bucket of balls for the range has gotten expensive as well! Not sure if I recommend this course or not. If youre paying $150 to play the course then its absolutely not worth it. For that price you should go to higher end courses. If you catch twilight hours its a reasonable price. I certainly wont be golfing here as much as I used to for a price tag that high. Hope they change some things. Staff have always been really nice here however so thats a nice plus. read more

The course used to look great and was very affordable used to make the 30 minute drive down to otay just to play now you need this stupid enagic resident card otherwise your tee time is $30+ more just played it recently the course is dried out also the Marshall is a jack like relax Paul Blart you're driving around a golf cart making sure pace of play is smooth no need for the attitude and yelling especially when our groups been waiting in our carts for the people in front to hurry up then asking us if we have a problem yeah you're the problem bud read more

Don't be fooled by any good reviews. Came for my brother in laws bachelor party. The management harassed us for failure to keep track of payment for the round. Staff was whispering " check their bank accounts " for proof of payment". Particularly the front desk guy rushing us to get payment in when nobody else was in the clubhouse and we were 30 minutes early to our tee time. Mind you we are a majority Mexican group. Cart guy was rude when asking us to separate and split into 4 carts when that is not what we booked with the tee time. Drove all the way from Arizona for this. The worst part is someone who worked there came up to us once we finished at home 9 to yell at us for pace of play but we ended up not even going 18 due to the staff. Overall worst experience and this gives San Diego golf a bad rep. Hopefully not everywhere is like this. Arizona golf has nothing but professionals. read more

This was my first time here and I can honestly say it was pretty cool. Range: The range was very nice and easy to read with the distance markers. The price for the range was I guess normal compared to other places. Putting Green area: The practice green was very well maintained, but it was on a slope. So yes it was very nice to practice on but there was no chance to practice straight putts as the green is on a slope. So all putts are either going left or right, or downhill and uphill. No actual flat green. It's all good though. Tough reads make better for honing in putting. Course: The course was great! The layout played fine! The maintenance crew has done a great job. I have a few buddies who didn't like this course a while back, but I guess they're okay with it now. Very similar to the San Diego Resident card, they plan to have a resident card option which I believe will be $45 per year and reduces the cost if you play here often, but it's only for this course, as where the SD Resident card is for Torrey Pines, Balboa and Mission Bay. If you live close to the area, I recommend on getting it as it's one of the nicer courses, but if your like me and like to visit various courses I probably will not. Especially at $45 per year. I'd do it for $25 though. I have seen a couple San Diego Golfing influencers recording here, but that has no effect on the pace of play here. They're pros at what they do so they respect the golf etiquettes, and they're pretty too. Wink Wink! read more

I am done! 1) I was a member before Enagic took over and was told I could renew my membership if I purchased one of their water treatment systems. I already have a water treatment system in my home. I was told "I could sell it to a friend" or just hang on to it. Ugh. Okay, water under the bridge and I cancelled my membership. 2) They increased the daily start times to 7am calling it a city requirement (which we know is not real). I told them that would not work for me since I play 3 times a week and like to tee off at first light so I could get 18 in and be at work by 9am. So, I moved to Encinitas Ranch, Riverwalk, and Crossings. 3) I played Enagic every now and then for a while, but they jacked up the rates. It is now $70+ during the week and $102 on the weekend for residents. That is on par with Encinitas Ranch. Sorry you are not in their league. 4) The course is not in that good of shape either. Sand traps are often hard or have water puddles, patchy fairways and poor kept greens. Seems they only care about the course about a month before their big tournaments 5) THE FINAL STRAW - I received a notification from Enagic they now require all San Diego residence to pay for an annual Enagic ONLY resident card @$40 per year to get the resident fee. WTF! Just ask to see the freaking driver's license. What a money grab. Please don't call out San Diego residence card for playing Torrey because you are nowhere near the caliber or class of Torrey. FYI - I agree with other posters that the marshals and starters are often power hungry and not that friendly. Even at the first start time at 7:00am I have received flak from the starter.... you just started, WTH! On a positive note, the people in the bar and grill, and the kids managing the carts are always very nice and helpful. read more

Their new (June 1) "county resident" program is bonkers. Booked on GolfNow at the San Diego County Resident rate because, you know, I live in this county. The rate is about $70 for a "resident" on a normal weekday morning, but $40 more without, which is steep considering the quality of the course. But no problem, I live here. Problem is, it's not for county residents, it's their own weird membership program that doesn't with with any other courses and costs $40 for a yearly subscription. Cheap money grab, which I found out about while checking in. These guys are intentionally misleading golfers by naming the program to resemble the city's resident card program (which works for all municipal courses in the city limits if you get the card, and is a city run program). I asked the kid running the desk who tried to get me to buy in if he could see how that was misleading, and he shrugged and said he didn't want to discuss it. Between the weird water system sales, the bad course management (been that way awhile) and their new cash grab scam, steer clear, there are better spots in San Diego for a $110 tee time read more

Even if every other golf course in SoCal is booked, DO NOT COME HERE. I've played every course in San Diego and I've never been treated WORSE than here. Bad experience start to finish. The starter did not believe we payed our fees, even though they don't give you a receipt and the proshop messed up our check in, essentially calling us liars. The worst was the marshall Armando who AGGRESSIVELY YELLED at us when we were on the tee box. When we told him that he could be nicer, he doubled down and said we could keep pace, even though we waited for the group in front of us on every hole. When asked for his name, he said Armando and asked if we wanted his social security number too. Pathetic and rude. This was on 17, a par 3. Two holes left and you manage to make the experience even worse. When we spoke to the manager afterwards, he excused Armandos behavior by saying he tends to "joke around". None of this was remotely close to being a joke. It turns out the marshal had already called in to the pro shop to say we were on our way, so the manager just said "I've already talked to him" without even listening to what we had to say. Completely disregarded and no apology from anyone. I can stomach this if I'm playing at my (wonderful) muni, but to pay $400 for the foursome ($600 if you aren't already members) and be treated like that start to finish - you're better off doing ANYTHING else. The driving range mats suck, you cant even put a tee in them. The course is in rough condition. Rocks in the bunkers. Rakes with no teeth. And the first cut is full of bumpy uneven dirt patches. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE. read more

Never experienced this before: I was not allowed to come watch my partner play. We always check any club's policies before going, and I'm always dressed within the dress code, we even offer to pay for the cart seat if needed, or a discounted price for entry. Again, I don't play but I still am respectful to the club's rules. But this place didn't have anything on their website policies that stated I couldn't go, they didn't even allow me to pay a junior price for the game, or pay for the cart seat, there was no valid reason for them to deny me entry. Yet they stood their ground and stated "no spectators." What a shame. First and last time we book here. I decided to hang around the clubhouse but even that was not at the level their high horse was at. Not impressed. read more

The course is, interesting. However...... we had an experience with, volunteer, wanna-be, "range master ." He comes on, with the A-frame, Navy hat." First of all, you suck at golf. Second, don't tell me "hurry up." This guy couldn't hit a broadside carrier... next, he stairs us down like Dwight from the office. Perhaps, focus on you and not the successful golfers who could run your wife down twice and ask you to clean up the MESS in the morning. Overall, typical Chula Vista attitude about not being able to afford the North County courses. And- isn't this place owned by a Japanese water company? But you can't afford --- water? The total range master volunteer dude can take a five iron and stick it (if his wife will allow it). read more

First would start as I ate at the clubhouse and ordered a French dip and onion rings. They put mushrooms on the French dip without asking me which I am allergic to mushrooms. now to the course. I was a single player paired up with other singles. pace of play was absolutely terrible it took 3 hours to get through front 9. At one point at hole 4 par 3 we had one group on the green and we had 3 groups waiting on the tee. I didn't even finish the whole course because it took too long on the front 9. I got the hot deal on Golf Now App at $94 which I still think was too expensive for this course. This course at most is worth $75. read more

What happened to Enagic (Eastlake)? This use to be one of the preferred courses in the South Bay and now it's the most overpriced, poorly maintained golf course in SD. The fairways look like they haven't been cared for in months--patchy, uneven, and completely unacceptable for what they charge; on top of requiring a bs resident card even if you live in San Diego and show proof. A friend invited us out and I was a little intimidated to play but so grateful I did. I shoot around 90 sometimes less sometimes more (lol) so I was prepared for the worse never playing this course. It is true, if you find yourself off the fairway, the rough holds true to its name ... rough. It took me a few holes to figure that out, but once I began to course manage, my round got a lot less stressful. Notice I didn't say better. The course is well taken care of, especially considering we're coming to the end of Summer. They water each hole well, the tee boxes were kept up and the greens were really good. On a practical note, the seats on the golf cars were about as nice as I've ever sat in. Golf should be an experience not just a round. From their range visible the moment you walk towards the clubhouse to the putting and chipping areas, they start your experience off the way it should be. I've played this course three times now and have never been backed up or felt the need to speed up. The pace and people were great. This is a quality golf experience in San Diego. Although, I might be bias because I shot my lowest round of my life here a few weeks ago. For the record it was an 84. For me, that was cause for a celebration! read more

Paying $150 to play Eastlake felt like buying a luxury sports car, only to find out the engine is a lawnmower and the seats are made of duct tape. That's the level of disappointment on display here. This course should be a crown jewel, but instead it's been left to rot into a patchy, joyless pasture while the owners gleefully collect green fees like it's a toll booth. The only thing lush out here is their appetite for cash. If the plan is to charge country-club prices for cow-pasture conditions, at least be honest about it. I've been in the Golf biz in SD County for 30plus years so I have had the opportunity to have played pretty much all the golf courses in the area...private and public...a few have closed. Kind of beaten up and patchy.. I imagined being the course trials for The Farmers Insurance open; it would be at least better than a local muni golf course, also had a ball roll into a gopher hole unfortunately . We have some golf groups that we invite to play with us up here in North county coastal and they say greens are bad at Enagic, I didn't know what they mean until I saw and played it myself. The layout is okay but kinda weird ,Watch out on hole 1 as stray hooks from the practice area end up landing next to you or behind your back when you are in the fairway read more

Do not plan on a pace of play and focus on your pace of stay as you will sit on most holes for about 30 minutes due to the staff not being aware how to track and manage the course and players. Funny thing is they have smart cars in which show the clubhouse and Marshall where every cart is. Yet they refuse to step in or even help. Marshall is terribly dim. Tragic what has happened to this place. What used to be a premier place to play in the Southbay for us locals to be proud of (host US open local qualifier) has tragically become a dumpster fire. Extremely over priced with their money grab program. Maintenance has tanked (weeds growing out of bunkers, shaggy greens). It used to be a 4, now it's 2. I grew up in Eastlake, played HS golf from 2001-2004 and it was great. The staff was cool, range was nice, and course was consistently well maintained. I started hitting the range again after bought it out and it's obvious they're trying to push out the community it was originally built for. I didn't have a polo after years, but my dad said women were there in leggings, tees and even tank tops so not to worry about the range. However, I was just kicked off for wearing tailored shorts and a black shirt. They said the policy had just changed. If that's true they should have told us for next time. I would have obviously worn a polo if going out on the course, but treating locals like they're hobos is a great way to lose customers. A course originally built for a nice community being run like it's Augusta is a great way to decrease business. We will not be returning after our gift cards are gone. read more

Customer service is not their priority at all. I've been coming here for years bringing everything from scratch players to people trying to learn the game. The experience I had today was by far the worst, the Marshall did not speak to us like customers and did not speak to us like human beings. We brought 2 new players to the course and was hawked for 6 holes with no conversation at all. We had to rush non stop even after we let the group behind us pass. We had 2 new players trying to learn the game and they no longer want to play because of this treatment. Marshall watched us for 6 holes straight 20 ft behind us which made the new players very uncomfortable. After the round I spoke to the pro shop which they got very defensive. They kept speaking about pace of play (which I completely understand and 100% support) but, at the end of the day we are paying customers too. Am I not allowed to bring someone trying to learn the game? They made it seem this course is for only people who play good and are fast. The pro shop gentlemen were very defensive until I reminded them that we are paying customers as well. Speak to me like a human being and let me know how we can speed up play with our new players. We deserve the right to be treated the same and deserve the right to be spoken to like human beings. 1 gentleman at the pro shop (short and bald) was very defensive and kept speaking about pace of play and saying we were behind 2 holes. We let the group behind us play ahead so that we wouldn't hold them up and nobody was behind us for several holes. The other gentleman spoke about bad reviews for pace of play (which I don't really care about!)....I simply told them that we are customers too and deserve the right to be treated like the rest because customer service should matter more than what they are concerned about. Marshall should have spoken to us instead of hawking us for multiple holes with no explanation. The treatment I received from the pro shop was very hostile until I reminded them we are customers too. Short small guy seemed angry because I was complaining which I told him I was not asking for anything in return but simply telling you our treatment. Guy in PGA shirt eventually apologize and shook my hand but it felt half hearted. These guys don't care about growing the game, they only care about money and whoever their members are. I have always brought new players here because the course is usually in great condition and the customer service has been good. I will no longer be coming here and I sincerely hope they look at theme selves in the mirror. I 100% understand pace of play and I frequently play at Torrey pines, this course is NOT the same and they do not care about your average customer. The pro shop people were clearly unhappy with what I was saying and did not respect my opinion at all. They did say they would speak to the Marshall but at this point it really doesn't matter. Edit: course was in terrible condition, each bunker was filled with water and course was cart path only. Mud everywhere and inconsistent rough. How can we play fast with these conditions? read more

Where do I start? The new resident membership is outrageous. Instead of checking IDs, they bypass that entirely and jump straight to charging additional fees. Course conditions are far below San Diego standards, yet prices are far higher. They expect country club treatment without putting in country club effort.
