A true 'Pedro staple. Hole in the wall spot with a totally inadequate parking situation but worth every freakin' dime. Excellent tasting, cheap eats that's guaranteed to hit the spot every stinkin' time!!! If nothing else, try the potato tacos. Simple as hell but oh so tasty. Chili verde combo, chicken tacos, red chili anything... All good. Doesn't hurt that the place is 5 blocks down the street from home either!!! Best hard shell tacos! I hate hard shell tacos. My friend took me here and ordered them, dared me to talk smack after I tried a bite. After I tasted them I just went up and bought two for myself, and after that I have ordered them everytime since. Fresh tomatoes, lettuce, chedder cheese, meat...why am I getting so excited about them again? You'll know why after you try them. I guess part of the reason is because they fry the taco shells themselves the old fashioned way in the oil with corn tortillas. They taste fried to order, not sure if they are but they are still warm and crispy from when you get them. Soooo so good. Two abuelitas in the back, making it all without gloves, ya know. I've been going to this place for over 5 years now and it's been consistently great! Very authentic Mexican food and the owners/workers are amazing! They are always so sweet and helpful and the food is given in a timely manner. I usually get their potato tacos and chicken tacos. Both are always fresh and taste great i also LOVE their guacamole. The Enchilada House is a San Pedro favorite. Usually a hodgepodge of people here... mostly dropping by for take-out. The food is good, a step up from Taco Bell or Del Taco. The prices here are very reasonable, most dishes are priced under five dollars. The quality of the food isn't bad. Most dishes are prepared as they are ordered. Why not a better score? Well, it's location is a little questionable. Unless you're familiar with the area and feel comfortable in it, most people might pass on this place. Also, there is not much by the way of seating... There is only one park style bench that you might have to share with others. read more

Well... You get what pay for. I got the bean and cheese special with potato and beef tacos. The prices were very reasonable but you get what you pay for. The bean and cheese burrito had no cheese. The beans themselves were bad to me and had a funny taste. The beef taco's meat was bad. It had a funny texture and tasted funny. The Jamaica was very watered down. The only thing I liked was the potato tacos. They had a decent flavor and a nice amount of potato. They were a little greasy but I like greasy potato tacos. I would come back to get the potato tacos and try a cheese quesadilla. I really wanted to like this place because the prices are excellent but I'll keep looking read more

Inexpensive and authentic from what my taste buds said. They have a good selection of choices, several taco choices for those who enjoy a good taco. My food was ready within 5 minutes from the get go. Enchiladas were really good as well. Parking is street parking and there was one bench to eat at so it's not a sit down place but lots of places near by to take your food to and enjoy your meal. I haven't been here in a fewyears and here's my recent encounter: Menudo - 3.5/5 Stars. Definitely needed the fixin's to make this happen! But after adding some salt, lime, cilantro and onion it was good. I remember this being my favorite menudo, but the seasoning is different. It was a bit dry at first. Carne asada - 3/5 stars. There's very little seasoning/marinade, but the cut of meat is decently good. So it stills tastes good naturally. Beans - 4/5 stars. Pretty damn good. Rice - 2/5 stars. Much better when mixed with beans. Light flavor. Service - 5/5 stars. Very welcoming crew. Cash only! Value (Quality of food x Price) - 5/5 stars. I will be back. Have been going here for decades, walked here as a teen from SPHS and still my go-to for a quick special #1. HOWEVER, smack in the middle of COVID-19 the cashier not wearing face covering, gloves or enforcing that customers wear them either. She was handling food, preparing sodas, scooping ice from a bag and handling all the cash. Nasty! When confronted her reply was "We've been very busy and my mask is in the back"!
