This place on a Friday around 10:15 AM was open. Had the combination plate and a coke. $25 including tip. The food for me was 3.5 very different style. I had the chicken enchilada but I could find the chicken. Sadly there was a hair in my salsa. I didn't have the courage to say anything... the beef taco hard had potatoes.

We came here for the first time on a Saturday early afternoon, and loved the experience. The food was incredibly delicious- very authentic and powerful flavors. We had the mole chicken enchiladas, and caldo de birria (chivo). It did not miss. We also had two micheladas, de cerveza Victoria. Overall, wonderful experience. Will definitely come back again!

This is our third time eating at this restaurant. They specialize in homestyle Oaxacan cuisine particularly mole. Many times when we do come, it is already closed. I don't think they follow the hours of operation strictly. If they are slow, they tend to close early. This time I called in advance and they said they should be open that evening until about 7:30pm. We had the Carnitas plate and the Coloraditos (mole). The carnitas were good but a bit on the dry side and my husband preferred the mole enchiladas instead of the chicken pieces. We do like coming here and from now on will always call in the advance if it is during the evening hours. According to the waiter who may be the son of the cook/owner, he said that they aim to stay open until 8pm but the evenings are usually slower in comparison to the morning and lunch hours. Parking is on the street.

I came here for a weekday lunch with my husband. The place was pretty quiet with only one other diner. It's a very casual spot near a busy intersection. I've driven by many times and I never knew this place was here! I got the enchiladas de mole negro which came topped with lettuce, onions, avocado, and queso fresco. I really enjoyed the mole here! It was delicious and had that amazing smoky flavor. I love Oaxacan mole negro in general and this one did not disappoint. It was a well balanced dish that was rich in flavor yet with fresh and light components from the avocado, onion and lettuce. The portions were huge and I couldn't even finish my plate. Washed it all down with a cold and fizzy Mexican Coke. So good! There was one guy running the whole show doing all the seating, taking orders, and cleaning. Wouldn't be surprised if he was also helping in the kitchen because he disappeared after he took our order. He did a great job! Friendly and efficient. If you want to try Oaxacan food in the South Bay, I recommend this place! Authentic and delicious. Parking: street

I pass by this place all the time and finally got around to checking it out. It's deceptively big and there are a ton of tables. I came for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all - it's a mom and pop place and it always feels good to support local business. I got the mole negro chicken enchiladas and thought it was decent. The mole had a little kick to it which I appreciated but thought the chicken was mediocre - a little on the dry side. Yes, you can mask the dryness of the chicken with mole but I was hoping it would be great on its own.

Overall the food was absolutely delicious, flavorful and filling. I got a side of rice and beans which was enough for two. First time coming to this location and I will definitely be visiting again. The service was great and the vibe in the restaurant made me feel like I was in my grandma's kitchen.

It's been so long, since I've been here!!! A family owned restaurant for authentic Oaxacan food, made with love. I had the pleasure of ordering the asada nachos. Everything was GREAT about my meal. Tortilla chips handmade, asada seasoned perfectly, tomatoes, avocados and sour cream with fresh diced onions. Sooo good. My better half ordered Buenos ranchero with nopales. Oh and mexican squirt sodas in the glass bottles! Jose the owner, took our menu was very nice and went over items we had questions on. Quaint restaurant with authentic flavor and a feeling of eating with your family! That's what I got from dining here. So if you're in Lomita, pay this restaurant a visit for homemade food with family appeal.

Food was really good. Prices are super reasonable. Definitely will be back. It's like a whole in a wall but definitely a good one .

We've been coming to this restaurant for years, but the service keeps getting worse. The food is still good, but the experience is consistently ruined by poor service. The waiter, a short man who often serves guests, is extremely rude and makes it uncomfortable to even ask for basic things like chips or silverware. During our most recent visit with a group, his behavior was shocking. When my meal arrived, his mother--the cook--kindly brought it out. A few minutes later, the waiter came back, picked up my plate without asking, and said his mom had given me too much food. He literally took my plate to the back, removed part of my meal, and returned it with half the portion missing. It was humiliating and completely unacceptable. The cooks are kind and the food tastes good, but the service and cleanliness are terrible. The menus are sticky and dirty, and the rags used to wipe tables have a strong, unpleasant smell. It's disappointing to see a restaurant with good food ruined by such rude service and poor hygiene.

I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Before her food was ready, she received an emergency call and had to leave immediately. That's the reality of being a first responder--when a call comes in, you leave immediately, no time to wait for your meal. Before leaving, she politely asked the cashier to cancel the order and refund her card. Instead of showing understanding or offering assistance, the cashier was dismissive and unhelpful. After completing the call, my daughter contacted the restaurant, apologized for the inconvenience, and again requested a refund. She was initially told that the receipt had been thrown away. Later, the receipt was apparently found, but she was then informed that if she wanted a refund--or even the food she had paid for--she would have to return to the location in person. The problem is that she lives more than an hour away and was only in the area because she was working. I called the following day in an attempt to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I was met with the same attitude. The employee refused to provide her name, refused to provide a manager's name, and refused to provide any contact information for someone who could address the complaint. To be clear, this is not about the cost of a meal. Had the employee been courteous, professional, or even remotely helpful, we likely would have let the matter go. Emergencies happen. Schedules change. We understand that. What prompted this review was not the lost food or the refund itself--it was the employee's rude attitude, lack of professionalism, and complete unwillingness to help resolve a simple customer service issue. I will also acknowledge that by the end of my phone call, I became frustrated and was not as polite as I should have been. I regret that. However, that frustration came only after repeated attempts to handle the situation respectfully and being met with rudeness and resistance at every turn. A business can recover from a mistake. What it cannot afford is employees who treat customers with contempt and then refuse to provide any way to contact management when a legitimate concern is raised. Management should be aware that this employee's behavior reflects poorly on the entire business. If this is how customers are treated when they encounter an unexpected emergency, then potential customers deserve to know before choosing to spend their money here.
