Our party…read morerecently came here to see The Odyssey and I had to take time off from work because I was only able to find available seats for a 3 PM showing on a weekday. [Parking]: Regal LA Live will validate parking for up to 4 hours for $8 plus 10% tax using one of the scanners inside the theater, but visitors must park at the West Garage (Lot W) Gates E and F only (1015 Georgia St). [Amenity]: I am not a fan of how the concession stands are set up here. The main lobby has only one line for the sole concession stand. It also has a separate concession bar with no line. There is another concession stand in the IMAX 70mm waiting area, but it was not serving anything during our visit. There is a water fountain right next to the restroom, but it was not working. [Tickets]: The IMAX 70mm auditorium has two types of tickets - Reserved (reclining seats from Rows A through K) and Balcony (non-reclining seats from Rows AA through GG). $31.99 per person for a Reserved ticket to a weekday 3 PM showing plus an additional convenience fee on Fandango. Regal's website was buggy and I was not able to use a Regal Groupon code for the IMAX 70mm showing, so I recommend sticking with Fandango for a smooth purchasing experience. [Seating]: Our party sat in Row I and I would say those reclining seats were quite comfortable. [Conclusion]: No complaints about the actual IMAX 70mm showing, but one star off for paid parking (other IMAX 70mm locations like Regal Irvine Spectrum & IMAX in Irvine and Regal Edwards Ontario Palace & IMAX in Ontario offer free parking) & one star off for the non-ideal concession setup & another star off for the non-functional water fountain.

Unfortunately, when I arrived, not a single employee knew what I was talking about, and it turned out they hadn't even received any of the promotional items for the film. Might not seem like a big deal but damn you played with my emotions--Not even a poster. Big thanks to the employee that went out of his way to confirm. If you're going to promote a giveaway, make sure your staff is informed and the items actually make it to the theater. The theatre room itself was also really warm. They say the first impression is the one people remember and yup this is one that will remember for a while.

So much that i had to make a review. We watched the notebook and drank hot chocolate which was included with our ticket (not sure if every ticket has it). It's definitely a vibe but make sure to go based on the weather because although we were next to a fire pit it was a bit chilly. You're allowed to bring a blanket though but we were silly and forgot. This theatre is done in Dolby Cinema format which is probably one of the best formats to watch films in. The seats are not recliner seats but it's still comfortable. I also parked at the Bronson Gate as it's the closest to the paramount theatre.

At a recent showing, I ordered the Culver Combo and the popcorn was almost entirely small, crumbly fragments, the tiny broken bits you'd normally find at the very bottom of the bag. It was basically impossible to eat. I got a refill halfway through, assuming I'd just gotten the ends of a batch, but the replacement scoop from a fresh machine was no better. On top of the texture, the popcorn also just doesn't taste good. it had a slightly burnt taste every single time. 2) About an hour into every movie, it becomes obvious there's no AC or fan running. I wouldn't be surprised if a CO2 monitor showed elevated levels. I've flagged this to staff on all three visits, and each time turning on the AC fixed it immediately, but it's never on by default. Sitting in a hot, stale theater for two hours is genuinely unpleasant, and the difference in air quality the moment you step into the hall is obvious. I really want to like this theater, it's a local business and I'd rather support it than a big chain but I won't be returning unless these issues are addressed/fixed.

It's such a nostalgic movie theater with a person at the one box office who greets you warmly and is nicely dressed in a vest, the cartoon countdown from 10 minutes to it's time for the show, a classic confessions person taking your food and drink orders to the detailed orientated rugs and fun designed lighting fixtures. The restrooms are clean and modernized. The lighting could be a bit brighter. Inside of the theaters is a fun experience. It's as if we're transported back in time with it's art deco style on the walls, plush and roommy seats that start with many seats in the back then goes to two seater aisles the closer one gets to the screen. The screen it self is hidden behind a plush or velvet curtain until it's time to watch the other movie previews, watch a cartoon about going to the concession booth or the hilarious "Turn Off Your Cellular Phones" Victorian opera style. I caught a matinee which was a great price and the other attendees enjoyed the movie! I love this theater!

Everything is always so well organized and it's just the cutest theater. Now the only negative for me is finding parking, but that's always an issue in this busy area of Los Feliz. My usual routine is to check for street parking, then check the tiny lot behind the theater, then I usually end up at the $8 church lot. The flip side positive of this is there are so many food and dessert places around for pre or post-show eats. I like that this theater is a bit more cozy than other locations, but honestly it's a normal size when thinking of it as a straight movie theater. I most recently saw Come See Me in The Good Light (an amazing documentary that will shift your perspective on death & grief) with a spirited Q&A with the producers Tig Notaro, Jessica Hargrave & Ryan White centering around poet Andrea Gibbons. Go watch it on AppleTV! Now I say this to emphasize that there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The movie and the Q&A after had good views & good vibes. The seats at Los Feliz Theater are wide and comfortable faux leather. This was the first time at a smaller non-chain theater I wasn't constantly shifting in my seat, as the seats were just plain comfy here though they don't recline or anything fancy like that. Concessions aren't overpriced, with many thinking the popcorn here is above average. And just $5 for a LARGE! Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff! I really like coming to Los Feliz's Vintage Cinemas and I'll be back for sure.

Like this movie was so great, it has redefined what I can expect from a Marvel movie, and movies in general. But this review is not about the latest Spider Man flick, it is about Alamo Drafhouse Cinema. And I firmly believe that one of the reasons why I loved Brand New Day so much is because I saw it in Alamo Drafthouse. The movie going experienced was enhanced, dare I say even honored, by this place. And, I might be wrong, but saying that a place made a movie better, is the loudest clap a moviegoer can give to a place that plays movies for goers. I am not sure how I first heard of Alamo Drafthouse, but I selected it as the venue that will host my movie going experience because I fe;t Spider Man deserved the stage. When I got there I was surprised by one sheer fact: I have walked by this place many a time, and I never knew that it was there. Which made me realize in a much broader way that what they say about LA is true--- one will never be bored here because there is always something new to do, and if you cannot find something new, than you might not be looking hard enough. The entrance to the place that holds Alamo also had a reminder that we might all need to hear: "say whatever it is, before it is too late." I entered and the place gave me Bing Bang Theory basement vibes if Howard or Sheldon had the funds to create a luxury movie theathre in their basements. The place was replete with a lot of different posters, and toys, and other memorabilia. If one is a flick nerd, then this place will be their slice of heaven with reclining sheets. I clipped just a few pictures of the different do-thats that this place. For instance, they had a wall full of Spider Man posters. As I walked past them and into my designated theatre I felt more excited to see the motion. Also, they had this area with tables and beers on tap with the Spider Man from the 90's playing. Which makes me believe that Spider Man 97 is coming along the pike cause this cartoon is not quitting. But I thought it was such a great touch to play this cartoon because it is responsible for having so many people fall in love with the wall crawler. It was appropriate nostalgia that frame the movie. So if I have not made it clear, being in this place is a small museum that reminds us why we love movies, beyond them offering escapism when times get tough. The movie rooms were small, quaint, and comfortable. I think most people would agree that a recliner while watching a movie may not be needed, but just like fudge on ice cream, it makes the treat better in a rich kind of way. Additionally, this place offers food delivered to your chair by a server. The besides me had a whole happy hour situation going on. He ordered three margaritas, a hamburger, fries and enjoyed his time. It was all about being good and happy at the movies. This place facilitated that. I was not hungry. But I was inspired by my neighbor to order a treat---- sea salt and vinegar popcorn laced with gold fish, and it was a nice little treat. First, I never had that combination before. It was great! The goldfish cheese taste was deepened. Not in every bite but the ones that were in the bottom of the sea(bowl). The second thing that they did, that another Yelper. comment on was, they "have a no-phone policy." Meaning that when the movie started to play they encouraged us not to use our phone or we might be asked to leave. We were told we can report people on our phone using their phone. And they addressed the irony of it--- and resolved it by saying just don't be a jerk. It as like putting a pretty ribbon bow in a package that was once difficult to wrap. The movie had previews but before that they had a comedian re-cap the journey to this movie and it was funny. The comedian wondered if DR. Strange was also the type of guy that buys liquor for a minor since he did a universe altering spell for one. Then before the movie they showed a video with Holland stating that this Spider Man Movie was created for "you." And to a much lower degree, for sure, this Yelp was written for you too.
