Local moose lodge has a breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday morning that is well worth a stop. The food was perfectly prepared and allowed for add-ons at a very reasonable price. Pretty tasty food, I had a Pasadena chicken sandwich which was yummy & sweet potato fries. We all tried strawberry daiquiris ! I had to send mine back after two sips. It was one of the worst I've ever had. Just had a watermelon nutral can after that. Hanna was awesome, the manager checked us out so we didn't get to say good bye but she was sweet and on it. Been a Moose for a year now and never had a problem, went to Englewood for lunch and the waitress told us my wife had to be a member. I have never, ever been told this anywhere. They give you two guest visits and she did not explain that. She was not very friendly about the whole thing so we up and left! Called the main Moose and they said she was very wrong. Very , very disappointing. I understand there was a change but your spouse still gets 2 guest visits. Won't be going back there anytime soon. read more

We are traveling moose members & we have visited over 100 lodges. By far this was the worst lodge.. when we entered the lodge (with our cards in hand) i stood behind someone trying to get drinks. I was told to go to the service area(nothing was noted service area) I moved to the area they called service area & 2 books were on the bar so I waited in line. Finally my turn I was told they are full service & someone would come to our table(would not give me drinks) we sat at the table over 30 mins & still no service.(the person sitting behind us went to service area & got a Bloody Mary) Chairs opened at the bar so we moved. My husband moved a chair & we were yelled at NOT to move them. So we waited again for drinks & the bar tender never came back to us. 45 min waisted... we left & went to the Eagles & Elks(were members too) They gave us Great service & wonderful people. We joined with our son and daughter in law recently. We don't get there that often, but the bartenders seem to remember us when we're there . The food is always GOOD or GREAT ------ depending on the night, but the atmosphere is ALWAYS FABULOUS for regular people just looking for a fun, FRIENDLY place to spend an evening! And the BEST part is the live band and dancing on the weekends (and Wednesday!) Please look into the kitchen before you order DIRTY, you see employees vaping, setting on the prep tables, combing their hair. Watch the staff go into the male bathroom and they never wash their hands just push back their hair out their face. We close enough to check out his fingernails very dirty under his nails. No hair net for the long hair, no hair guards for facial hair, no gloves use by an body in the kitchen. When leaving we notice a couple of the staff sitting under the canopy appears to be smoking pot the way the cup the item in the palm of their hands. Something important about eating here is you either have to be a member or be with someone who is a member. They will ask for your Moose card when you are seated. Have been here two of the last three nights while I've been in town and gotten a burger both times and definitely enjoyed them! The Memphis burger was really good and I would say the fries were the best part of the meal I had to stop myself from ordering more. The menu changes every night and they've got it listed out by the day what you can order so if you do get a chance to stop in here multiple times odds are you won't get the same thing twice. Came here for some drinks and trivia night and it was a blast! They had a ton of people participating in the trivia night and it was good, competitive fun (very hard trivia questions though). If you know someone that's a member and you're around the area definitely suggest checking their schedule for the night and stopping in for some cheap drinks or a fun game night! read more

I am a current Moose member and retired from Law Enforcement after 33 years of service. I am 100% permanently disabled with a spinal cord injury suffered in the line-of-duty. I went to "The Family" Moose Lodge 1933 in Englewood FL on Tuesday afternoon with two other Moose members. My injuries do not allow me to sit in chairs commonly used in restaurants and bars so I carry a chair with me whenever I go out. We walked into Moose 1933 and there were about 10 to 12 empty bar stools around the bar. I started to move one of the bar stools to replace with my chair and was loudly and embarrassingly yelled at from across the bar by the bartender telling me I was not allowed to move any bar chairs and that I could not sit in the chair I brought in with me. The bartender was named David. My friend explained to David that I was disabled and not able to use the bar stools provided. David did not care. We then spoke to a female Manager and she did not offer any assistance either. We, of course, left and will never return. The experience was demoralizing. Has anyone at your Moose Lodge heard of the Americans with Disabilities Act - or just common decency. I have used the same chair in dozens of restaurants and bars in the past; including many other Moose Lodges without issue. I have never been treated with such disrespect or callousness before. Visiting from Port Charlotte. 45 minute drive to see another Moose. Pass on this one. Before we sit down, bartender tells us it's only two working due to callouts, we ask if anyone is coming in to help she says no. Asked for menus but we only were served 1 beer in under an hour and never got our order taken or asked for another drink. Thing is, same bartender was giving "regulars" prime service. Then replacement staff started showing up who was nicer than she was, and allowed us to pay our tab and leave. This time she blamed the weather on the crowd. Some friends invited me to dinner here tonight, since they have been members of this Lodge for a number of years and thought I might be interested to join as well. This Lodge has over 4,000 members!!! So I was impressed and intrigued enough to want to try it. Monday night must be BBQ RIBS special night, so all three of us ordered that for dinner. It came with FRENCH FRIES, COLE SLAW as well as BEANS. The ribs were out of this world, fall off the bone! Service was very friendly and drinks very reasonably priced.
