I strongly recommend finding another AC company; English Air Inc. lacks basic diagnostic competence and places the burden of expertise onto the customer.I initially paid them for a service call and repairs, providing a full list of system symptoms. Their junior technician ignored these symptoms, failed to properly diagnose the unit, and replaced a part that left the system completely broken. On top of that, it took them over a week just to source common parts.When I reported the next day that the AC still failed to work, dispatch promised to send a second technician at no charge. Instead, the second technician diagnosed an entirely new problem, stated the system should have been replaced from the start, and attempted to charge an un-agreed-upon service fee. I refused the duplicate charge and requested a supervisor call to discuss the issue.Rather than contacting me, English Air Inc. immediately filed a construction lien against my property without any adult discussion or communication. Because the system's age has nothing to do with their missed diagnosis, they had no right to bill me a second time for work they failed to complete initially.Ultimately, they claimed I had no proof of our verbal agreements and used the lien as leverage. Feeling forced under extreme duress to avoid an extensive legal process to remove the lien, I reluctantly agreed to pay half the disputed amount. Even then, they were unable to provide a physical invoice, a text invoice, or a formal quote from the second diagnostic visit. They left me no option but to provide my credit card over the phone with absolutely zero documentation or formal receipts. I am leaving this transaction feeling entirely extorted. read more

UNBLIEVEABLY BAD. In fact, the correct term is "useless". I'm an engineer, and when my HVCA failed, I knew exactly what had gone wrong. So, I called English Air because they were a distirbutor for the make and model of my other HVAC systems. But they don't stock parts, so I would have to wait until the got the part - a motor for the inside blower. I gave the the part numbers which I could read off the unit. They said they would let me know when they got the part and could do the installation. The next day, I got a call from a technician who said he was on his way. Great! (I thought.) But he didnt come with a part. Instead, he came with instructions to inspect the outside compressor. He came with no parts, and looked completely lost. So he did nothing... except present me a $118 bill for his trip! So I called English Air several times to ask when they would they get the needed part but no one answered and I never got a reply. Finally, I got through to someone who told me that they *texted* me (to my land line home phone?) an estimate for the repair. Well, land lines don't accept text messages but they do have answering machines, and English Air never called. But now, they would send me an email. That, I got. Their estimate did NOT include any credit for the do-nothing trip, but did charge $1002 for a new motor plus $600 labor to install it plus taxes. Oh...and it would take 3-5 days JUST to get the part. I called mutliple times but had to leave messages, asking if, among other things, they would refund the $118 for a trip in which the technician was not prepared to do the requested service. I never got any answer by email, home phone, cell phone, or text. Suffice to say, English Air is off my list. And, just so you know - given all the problems with HVAC contractors in general, who I find frequently rip off customers - I decided to do the repair myself. A suitable motor was available from many sources for about $200, but I played it safe and got an exact OEM replacement brand new for $450, also avaiable from many sources. I chose one that included next-day delivery for $6.99. There were about 10 screws to unfasten altogther, and the blower assembly slipped out for easy access. It took about 30 minutes to take the old motor from its mount, put the new one in, and plug four wires into the exact place the old motor wires went. I wasted nearly two weeks waiting for English Air to give me their ridiculous estimate after showing up unprepared to do anything. I've been dealing with English Air for 2 years now. 2 years ago I had a MAJOR PROBLEM with our AC. The problem was Solved extremely well. They did such a Great job that I asked about Service Contracts. Robert was at my home today doing that exact job. He was very professional, answered all my Questions and did exactly what you would expect. I am a condo owner and had the pipes flushed and cleaned out approximately one year ago. The service charge was right at $100. I called that air conditioner business again to clean and flush the pipes but they no longer serviced the high-rise I live in. I called ENGLISH AIR to service my AC without asking what the cost would be to me.. MY MISTAKE. I assumed it would not be much more than the $100 I was charged the year before give or take $50 or less. ENGLISH AIR charged me $388. for the same service I had received the year before from the other AC repair business. I stood and watched the entire time they were at my condo. Our AC unit broke while we were in Birmingham,AL for the birth of our first grandson. We spent 2 weeks helping our daughter Sabrina and Joaquin (our grandson) and Gabriel our Son-in-Law. We returned on a thursday morning and it was 87 degrees in our bedroom. I called English Air and Dalton came over and diagnosed a fatal flaw in the compressor unit outside. He was able to temporarly fix it but warned me that it could fail at any time. Teresa and I decided to replace the 6 year old TRANE unit which we have had multiple service calls and replacement of condensor coils, and once replaced the compressor. We ecided to purchase a new Daikin with 12 year warranty. Low and behold 6 guys came and replaced the old unit the next day Friday! Unbelievable service, awsome team and Dalton , our service engineer was outstanding ! We highly recommend Dalton and English Air. (Especially when we find ho-hum service to be common at other companies.) read more

I needed a scheduled ac. Tune-up and was also having some issues with my 3 year old unit that was struggling to cool down the house and was running continuously. Roman from English Air was by far the best technician I've had to date. He listened to my concerns and issues I was having, went over the entire unit inside, outside, and examined all duct work and vents, went through all the functions of the thermostat educating me along the way. I had an appointment between four and five got a text at 3:36 PM saying that the service tech Anton Martin was on His way Anton Martin never showed up to my address I sent Text back to the saying that the service tech has not showed up I sent several taxis saying still waiting on the service tech at 5:15 I got a phone call from Anton Martin saying my service call had been rescheduled because he said he had called my phone and I did not answer for one thing he did not call my phone and second of all I had a text at 3:36 saying they Anton Martin was on his way never got a phone call from English Aire Saying my appointment has been rescheduled as I was talking to Anton Martin he was very belittling to me told me I did not deserve a service call today because I did not answer my phone Anton Martin needs a class in customer service I am in the customer service industry and I would never have talked to a customer that way I would i've been apologetic and asking how we can fix this issue and reschedule an appointment but Anton never offered any of that we will not be doing business with English air we were going to buy a brand new carrier system for our house but we will not be doing that with English air any longer read more

English Air did the job, which was to clean our dryer duct. Eli, the technician was very nice. The process went well and he was efficient. We talked for a bit and felt we were in good hands. However, when I went to use my washer a few days later, I had a spewing leak everywhere and my garage flooded. I guess when the washer was moved, the drainage pipe somehow unhooked. When we called to explain the problem, they blamed my husband and said he was the one to blame for moving back the washer and dryer back in place. This is a lie! My husband only helped the technician, Eli, move everything back! Why didn't Eli check to make sure all the connections were hooked up and intact before he left? Why did the owner of the company blame my husband? Horrible customer service. Do not recommend one bit. For a $127 dryer duct cleaning, instead of trying to help, they decided to blame us and make us fix the problem they created. Very disappointed. read more

I've used English Air to install several new AC units for my rental properties. I had an old AC unit that was installed by another company before I knew of English AIr. The AC stopped working because of a burnt out circuit board. I took a picture of it and contacted English Air first thing in the morning before they opened and they got back to me right away and had someone at my rental within 2 hours with parts in hand. The technician installed the circuit board and checked to make sure there was no other hidden damage to the AC unit. He also changed out a Capacitor for the outside unit as that was not operating at 100% and may have caused a future problem. AC was up within 2 hours and tenant and I were very happy. So great responsiveness as no one likes to be without AC in Florida. Their pricing is very good and didn't cost an arm and a leg. The technician clean up after and was on his way. Everyone was pleasant to work with and customer satisfaction is clearly their number one priority. You won't find a better company in central Florida. read more
