Ah-maze-ing!!! I've lived in Harford County my entire life and never tried out this gem, and I wish I'd been here sooner! Absolutely the most incredible environment, staff, and food. Our server was Gill (Jill?) and she ensured we were well taken care of. Every one of her recommendations was on point. Everything came out hot and correctly. Nothing was forgotten but she didn't hover like some servers. She was there when we needed her, not when we didn't. She was knowledgeable and full of personality. The owner was walking around saying hello to guests, truly a memorable experience. I've traveled to Italy, and this was the closest I've found. I had a seafood pasta special (blacked salmon- only I got it done on the flat top grill), and it was the closest I've found to an Almafi coast dish. The pasta is made daily, which is very hard to find. The calamari was so addictive, the best I've ever had. I also had the best Chianti I've had in a long time, I wish I would have asked what it was. The prices were reasonable considering the large portions. We were with my Italian family, amongst them are some picky eaters, and all 7 of is agreed (even the three year old), that we are coming back time and time again! Bravo Mr. Fortunato. We just enjoyed a delicious lunch at Enotria . The bread was warm and crusty. My husband had a seafood pasta dish with shrimp and scallops, the scallops were cooked to perfection. I got my usual salmon salad with wilted spinach . The owner is so friendly, and Able, our waiter was excellent. If you go there be sure to ask for either Able or Ashley. We went for lunch today. We ordered a crab pretzel which was great. However we had to ask for silverware and service was very slow. For lunch we ordered the chicken parm sub and a "Margarita pizza". The food took about 45 minutes to arrive and we were not checked on in the time between placing the order and getting our food. The sub was pretty good but was nothing special. The Margarita pizza was nothing more than a plain cheese pizza with one basil leaf on it...To top it off our server brought the check without a pen so we had to hunt someone down for a pen. Excellent food and atmosphere. My family and I have eaten here too many times to count. Service and atmosphere are both excellent however that is surpassed only by the food quality, always excellent. Portions are large with us usually bringing home a "doggy bag". We've taken guests along with us a few times and have always had a great time at Enotria. read more

Should be a 4 based on their pizza, which is good. Recently ordered carry out and ordered a Capricciosa pizza, but they gave me the pasta (of the same name) instead. They offered to make the pizza but I didn't have the time. I did not like the pasta much at all (they do have others I do find to be good) and they also didn't give me the salad that was supposed to come with it. I was charged for the pasta that I didn't order, but I didn't make an issue out of it. Bummer. The outside seating area is very nice. There is a seating area on the side of the restaurant that could use some updating. Other experiences there have been very enjoyable. read more

I really want to like this place. I moved to this area in 2014 and thought that a restaurant so close was sure to become a local favorite. Our first visit was met with ok service - friendly but a little slow. The problem was the food. Overly sweet sauce and too much garlic. Despite our first visit my wife and I decided to try it again. Again met with slow servers and lack luster food. I will give them that their fresh pasta is great. So we waited a year and decided to try it again. We were one table of 5. We waited 15 minutes after being seated for anyone to come to our table. It wasn't like no one came by. There were four waiters working the other tables. Needless to say when you have a table with a toddler you shouldn't ignore them as it just makes the experience worse for everyone in the restaurant. When our drinks came they brought my two year old an adult sized glass of water instead of a kid cup - more waiting. When we ordered we asked if my sons pizza could come out as soon as it was ready. 45 minutes later it came out with the rest of our food. So let's give them the benefit of the doubt and it took the kitchen that long to make a pizza the food was the same as before - overly sweet, greasy and loaded in garlic. Like I said I really wanted to like this place. It's a cozy place, the staff is friendly (although slow) and it's so close. I just don't think I can get past the food and thousand tiny mistakes especially for the price as the food is not cheap. read more

I just love this place! Authentic Italian food in an attractive, comfortable place with always enough room to accommodate your party. The staff is friendly and the specials are divine! The owner, Carlo Fortunato, is almost always on site with a personal hello, and warm greeting as you enter and a "check in" as you're eating to make sure the food is as promised! Love this place! Come here as often as I can to dine in and have also gotten carry out many many times. Atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, and very accommodating! Food has NEVER been a disappointment. Try the antipasto as an appetizer which is a wonderful combination of cheeses, Italian meats, olives, tomato and mozzarella and even bruschetta. Best of all worlds! Their Red Sangria is the bomb! I've also had the white which is very good too and refreshing. For your house salad that comes with the entree's, try the creamy Romano Dressing to die for! I have never seen this any where else. As for the entree's, again, never disappointed. It's obvious all the pasta is mAde fresh right on the premise. I've had the Quattro Stagioni for Pizza with mushrooms, artichokes, roasted peppers, mozzarella and sauce. One of my favorite pizzas. Couple of my other favorite dishes: Penne Capricciosa, Penne Puttanesca, Fettuccine Alfredo, and the Linguine with White Clam Sauce. My Dad the other had tried their Penne alla Polpa Di Granchio which was lump crab meat, roasted peppers, green onions, and garlic sautéed in a pink sauce, tossed with Penne. After my taste of this dish, it will the next entree I order! Great taste! And for a gentleman that salt and peppers everything, he did not reach for the shakers once!! Last thing I'll say is they even let me still order one of my very favorite Italian standby's that hasn't been on the menu for a long time and that's the spaghetti aglio olio! From the outside it looks like it would be a great place for dinner. Inside the general personality of the restaurant is like a pizza joint. This is NOT fine dining! The food was bland at best; my salad looked like something out of a bag. The main course was veal smothered in canned Alfredo sauce. Could not tell what we were eating. What ever happened to having professional chefs cooking and taking pride in what they did. I was looking forward to this dinner and highly disappointed. We will not be back. Went here one evening, party of six. Seated promptly. Nice waiter. The interior is nice at first glance, or should I say ambiance. Once seated, the truth reveals itself. This place needs a scrub down badly. Dust, webs etc. No thanks.!! Hard to enjoy your meal, sitting next to that stuff. It was a full house, they seem to do well with the locals and seniors (not much selection here in the burbs). The lasagna was the ONLY good thing on our table. Everything else ....meh. Frankly, we've had better food at the Olive Garden. We like to try new things and places, together as a family. A night at Enotria was one of those excursions. We walked away disappointed. Service was very attentive and tried hard but missed on a couple things, like leaving a tray stand with an empty tray in a main walkway after delivering plates off of it. Patrons had to walk around it for an unfortunate amount of time. Antipasto platter was pretty and put together well with very decent ingredients. We had the chef special ravioli that was overpriced for what it was. Very sweet sauce with busted open ravioli in it and a couple different textures of peas ranging from mush to undercooked. They did not finish the pasta in the sauce on any plate I saw go past. Tiramisu was light and very pretty again, but the only thing I could taste was the chocolate syrup that was poured over it. If it was labeled as "Tiramisu inspired chocolate dessert pudding" I'd say it was spot on and delicious. The bill total was right in line with quality of food and service. Absolutely worth trying for yourself and I'm sure I'll be back to try something else sometime later. read more

All I can say is "wow!" My wife and I don't hand out too many FIVE STAR reviews, but the folks at Enotria earned one of those reviews tonight. I ordered the Veal Oscar and my wife ordered the Blackened Salmon Special. Everything...and I mean everything...was perfect tonight. Abel was our waiter and he was funny, witty and extremely attentive to us (and we're very picky customers). Abel started off by bringing our wine and warm bread with softened butter that was purposely placed under the loaf. The courses came out at perfect intervals of 8-10 minutes each. Abel brought out Mussels Bianca next and let us know our entrees were almost ready. When the entrees came out we were pleasantly surprised that the entrees were perfectly-sized proportions and weren't so large you looked at them like "how am I going to eat all of that?" Abel refreshed the wine and left us to chat and enjoy our meal. At the end of dinner Camilo (one of the owner's sons) came out to greet us and ask us how everything turned out. Okay, so Enotria is my favorite Italian restaurant in Harford County. I live and work in the area so make my way there for lunch or dinner at least once a week. OMG the red sangria is the best you will find. If you are looking for a stiff drink but don't want a shot of Jameson, you won't be disappointed. Their food is always so fresh. Homemade pasta? Oh, the carbs are killing me. But when I want to be healthy, their salads are bomb, and I could literally drink their house Italian dressing. Now, they have brick oven pizza....I tried the breakfast pizza, and now I like eggs on pizza?! I'm never disappointed with the food or friendly, laid back ee's. I recommend the joint! read more

So we've just finished our fourth dinner at Enotria and may have found a new "restaurant home." We've tried many of the specials (there are usually five or six) including strip steak, a rolled pork (my term, not theirs), and rockfish. Starters have included Momma's meatballs and arincine, both specials. Tonight, we tried their homemade tiramisu...it was lighter than any I've had elsewhere and full of flavor. This place is great. The food has always been good. They push too hard on wine (especially since I am a non-drinker) and the main room can be noisy. But, did I mention the food is great. My husband and I have been going to Enotria for a few years now. We started out loving the place! The food was really good and the service was also very good. We never had to wait to be seated, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. However, in the last year it seems to have a changed a little. Our favorite to place to go in Forest Hill is Enotria, we love how they are always evolving. We love that they keep the atmosphere very warm and inviting with their wine selections to the homemade pastas, they are always keeping the menu fresh. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. They take reservations which is rare in Bel Air since everything is mainly chain restaurants. Like hitting my thumb with a hammer and not having enough sense to not do it again. Our last visit was not good so we thought maybe we had a bad waitress or just a bad day. We reached for the hammer again. The oil and garlic dip must have come from the bottom of a container. It was LOADED with garlic. To the point the table next to us noticed the abundant smell. Finally asked the waitress for some more oil so we could dilute the garlic. Our salads came. Not to bad but a little weak on the house dressing. Our waitress said our food was ready would we like to have her hold it until we finished our salads? We said yes and again asked for the oil. No more than two minutes passed and a waiter or guy from the kitchen followed by our waitress showed up with hot food plates in hand. We said we had asked for the food to be held as the Italian speaking waiter was putting the food on the table. He did say he could take them back to the warmer but at this point the food was delivered and in front of us. Obviously the waitress and kitchen are not communicating. THEN the oil finally came. Enotrios so badly wants to be a top end restaurant by its decor and menu selection but the service is only a pizza shop quality. read more

It's been several years since I've eaten here, sadly, it has gone downhill since then. I met some friends here for lunch and was disgusted by the spaghetti and meatball. It was served in a tiny bowl with a SINGLE 1.5 inch meatball in an orange sauce that tasted and looked like canned spaghetti O's! When I got home I noticed the container that the slice of cheesecake was in had a couple drops of chocolate in it and a thin film of food (other than my slice of cheesecake) smeared all over the container. I should start by saying that I have never posted a review before for anything but my experience here desverves one! Ill start with the appetizer. The menu gave a completely wrong description of what was actually served!. The waiter himself said that he could see how we would have thought it was something else, as he would have though the same. Although he agreed, he didnt offer to remove the item. The salad was warm! The entree's was lackluster at best. All this for $90 for 2 people???? Awful!. Never again. I really wanted to like this place..the ambiance was nice and it's close to home. HOWEVER my first trip there will be my last. My bf and I went on a Saturday night and it was a full house. That must be a good sign, right? Wrong. We would have been better off dining at the Pizza Hut across the street for "authentic Italian food". We waited 10 minutes for a table- no problem. My iced tea was very good and I really enjoyed the fresh bread with dipping oil. It went downhill from there. Our salads came out and were literally a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, a teaspoon of diced cucumber, a small shaving of red onion, ONE cherry tomato, ONE black olive and a sprinkle of shredded carrot. The "we make our dressing on site" creamy romano was bland. My bf's balsamic honey vineagrette was slightly better, if not a bit much on the sweet side. Despite my empty glass of tea being placed strategically in our waitress' line of sight on the edge of the table, I had to ask if I could get a refill when she returned 15 minutes after leaving our sorry salads on the table. Then here comes the main course...oh boy. My bf's eggplant parm came with a sauce almost orange in color, reminiscent of Chef Boyardee. The eggplant itself was bland and there was a small serving of spaghetti "complimenting" this entree. My chicken marsala was worse- the sauce actually tasted like watered down brown gravy. It was salty and did not taste like marsala at all! The chicken was thin and bland and the tiny serving of spaghetti noodles was pathetic. I'm actually glad I ate the bread beforehand. The waitress could not care less that we did not want to take our leftovers. I will go to Giovanni's in Edgewood the next time I'm craving Italian. read more

Went for a late lunch 12/4/14 about 1:30 pm. It was a special lunch since we were there for our 25th anniversary accompanied by my mother-in-law. There were only 3 other groups dining in a large room so it was not busy at that time. The host sat us in a booth and rather than hand each person a full menu and the lunch menu he put everything in the middle of the table for us to sort out for ourselves. Within a few minutes the waitress took our drink orders and said she would return in a few minutes. About 10 minutes later she returned and asked for our meal order, we ordered our meal plus our appetizer. Most places would ask if you would like an appetizer when they bring your drinks. Appetizer was okay as were the 3 large sliced rolls except we got 3 small pads of butter for 3 people. That was actually only enough for one roll. They brought my chicken parm and the pasta was over cooked and mushy. It was like eating a mouthful of flour and water. Chicken was pounded very thin so most of the time you were eating very little chicken and mostly breading. The melted cheese was overwhelming, seemed like the cheese was thicker than the chicken. I ended up scraping it to the side of my plate and it looked like a pile of cured window caulk. My wife had stuffed shells and the cheese was as thick as mine. and we could not believe the large amount of sauce they use/waste. My mother-in-law said her veal was okay but I saw that she had the same mushy pasta I had and she didn't eat it. No where near the quality of the Olive Tree in Aberdeen. Probably the last time we will visit Enotria unless we are invited by someone else that will pay the bill. That way I won't feel like I'm wasting my money. read more
