It takes a lot for me to have the energy to write a review - it's just not my thing. But I have to share about our experience at Enrique's. We've been wanting to try this place for the last 5 years but haven't wanted to make the drive. WE. WILL. BE. MAKING. THE. DRIVE. AGAIN. We went on a Tuesday and their taco Tuesday buffet is amazing and crazy reasonable in price ($15 all you can eat). Plus, they had cochinita pibil which I haven't seen on a menu in this state that I can recall. However, the true reason for writing this review is the service. Ron, our waiter, was one of the most phenomenal, memorable, attentive servers we've ever had. We said it was our first time and he made such an effort to point out specialty dishes as they passed by our table. He frequently checked in on us, he was so friendly and personable - we were all blown away. It has been too long since we've had a meal that held up as far as taste, quality, AND service. Enrique's is a 45 minute drive for us, but one we are very willing to take for the excellent food and service. My wife and I LOVE the table side guacamole and Pollo Borracho. Such a great tasting meal combination. Have been here with friends and not one complaint from anything that was ordered. I can tell you this place is very popular and can get very busy, so I highly recommend reservations by calling the restaurant. The service we've had has been exceptional every time. Staff is very attentive and do quite well to make your visit very satisfying. They do offer a full bar service that serves many varieties to compliment your meal, or a time passing beverage while you wait for your table. Again, the later you are on weekends, the less room their is to find a seat. read more

Enrique's food can be hit or miss. Use to really love the food. Tacos were not very good for our take out order tonight. The chorizo was good. The asada and carnitas taste dry and likeday old meat- had a gross after taste- could not finish the carnitas. Bummed, used to be really good. read more

Service was good the Food was not. Chile verde served with no sauce. It was pulled pork without Chile verde. Pollo al a crème was a chicken breast covered with sour cream with fat still on the chicken. They want to be high end restaurant instead it's a beautiful building with senior citizen Mexican food. read more

At my last few visit at the bar, my wife and I were given one basket of chips/salsa. We were advised there would be a charge for a second basket. WTF!!! My family and extended family have been going here for the last 4 years. We almost were not going to go here after seeing the recent reviews. We decided to try for ourselves. Some of the reviews were right. The chips now taste stale, the rice was dry, and the food overall lacked flavor. The flaming margaritas were also different. They were not as strong, or flavorful as in the past. It was just not worth what we were charged. Our waitress was great. She did exactly what she needed to do. I am not so sure we will be back considering the long drive we need to make to get here, and the price we paid. read more

We went for a birthday celebration which was mentioned when we made the reservation. We were seated and the person who sat us did not ask us if we were there for an occasion . We then were sat in the bar area. We ordered drinks and table side gauc - the man who made the guac was so friendly and we gave him a $20 tip. We ate the guac .... No one came to check on us for at least 20-30 min - we finally ordered our dinner. Another 30 min and it finally came ..... tortilla with fajitas were chewy and dry. The burrito was dry as well. Terrible experience. We called in and they said it would be a 20 minute wait, so we put our name in. When we got there (15 minutes later), we were READY to eat. Instead, they told us it would be a 45 minute wait! After aggravated conversation with the hostess, we sat in the waiting area super annoyed. Another HOUR AND 15 MINUTES goes by until we're finally seated... about ready to salt my arm and eat it at this point. We ordered. Some time went by and a couple that sat down and ordered after us somehow got their food first The food was mediocre at best. I added extra salsa to give it some flavor. Stopped by for the first time for lunch. The staff were super friendly. I love how they are a kid friendly place to enjoy a meal. They have a little library in the back for the kids to grab a free book! So cute! You can tell they care about how their customers are enjoying their meal and experience. The flavor of these bowls were really really good (warning: they are boiling hot so be careful). My chicken bowl had too much chicken in it and it was a little tough. What is NOT amazing? I've traveled the whole United States, never ever have I ever had such awesome service.. Nikki is the BEST! Water glasses always full the food is on point! The drinks are on point! They have a tequila locker where you can buy a bottle put your name on it and when you come in you have your bottle. They also make their own tequila! You have to pay for chips and salsa PER BASKET. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that makes you pay for chips and salsa, but then makes you pay for every refill. I used to love this place and never had issues so I'm not entirely sure what happened. read more

Server did let us know chips and salsa are no longer complementary, we did order and sadly were served stale chips! We were brought a new basket not stale, yet not really yummy either. Came here for taco Tuesday for my birthday as a party of 7. I made a reservation but we still had to wait a bit and the service was pretty slow. The tacos were not good. I dunno what happened to the hand pressed tortillas I've seen videos of online but they certainly didn't have those. The meat had no flavor. The tortillas were not good. I am so happy I found this gem in Kuna ! The music is AMAZING the margaritas are some of the best I've had ever in my life and the taco bar was amazing ! I usually judge Mexican food by there beans and rice and let me tell you I think I could've eaten a plate of just beans and rice it was delicious! The young man doing the table side quad was amazing! I am going to be nice and give this place a 2 star for some reasoning I will explain below. But before that I had been wanting to eat here since moving to Kuna and what I should've done is looked to Yelp as my guide before eating here. One thing I will say that walking in about the decor I was very excited because this place is very well decorated and immediately you are thinking higher-end Mexican food from places like Javiers in Irvine or Newport or Zocolo's in the Sacramento region. Unfortunately that's where the experience ended for me...I am only one opinion and this place has lots of great reviews as well. I would just look at the amount of reviews I have written along with the subjectivity and fairness. Service 2 star experience for sure...initially had to wait over 10 mins just for someone to bring over some water without any chips and salsa. Then it was another few minutes when our waitress came over and was more about have you decided yet? So we ordered a couple of Modelo's which came out rather quick along with the chips and salsa. So for me If you read any of my reviews I judge a Mexican restaurant first on their chips and salsa. These non homemade tasteless chips that tasted warmed up where nothing great at all and while the salsa was better it was over powered by onions. So after a few minutes our very aggressive waitress was back for the order. Now I will say the night we ate here they were dead and had more employees standing a round chit chatting especially the front of house front door getters. BTW he needs to work on his manners a little especially if he is going to be the 1st thing you come across when entering your restaurant. So for this experience you can't blame it on staffing... I upgraded and ordered the rib eye fajitas and my wife ordered the chili verde...it didn't take long for our food to come out and now I know why. My steak first and foremost was not cooked properly and for the upgrade you would thing would be better and in this case no. The steak had absolutely no seasoning what so ever and this included the onions and peppers underneath. You could tell by the presentation and the way they cut the steak the back of the house has no care in food presentation. This wasn't scooping beans in a bean burrito this is someone who laid out $30 for fajitas to be 100% disappointed by a cut of meat and tasteless. The highlight were the refried beans and nothing to do with the main course. My wife's chili verde was a little better but her comments were the same around the seasonings and especially having zero heat to the dish. Chili verde always has a little kick to it when made properly but for some reason this one did not. Plus all the food wasn't even pipping hot. The only thing pipping hot were the tortillas and also a highlight outside of that very underwhelming and unimpressed. Lastly and my final point and irritation. While our waitress picked it up and became more attentive r she also became equally annoying. It is an absolute pet peeve of mine being rushed while eating. She came over several times while either myself or wife were clearly still eating and asked if we were done yer. You will know when I am done and stop asking its rude. For a restaurant to be maybe 1/3 capacity if that to be rushing people through is totally ridiculous...I really hade high hopes and unfortunately they were not met. Based on how close this is to my house I will probably give it another try, but not for some time to pass. Instead when craving Mexican food we will make the 13 mile drive to Pueblo Linda. Not as fancy but food and service is always the star. read more

Starting off, this is my first ever review of a restaurant. I was really torn on the three star review so here is why. Tonight was a very rare date night for my wife and I. We arrived to a 45 min wait and opted for the bar. We planned on having a drink while we waited for our table. We sat at the bar top for nearly 12 min before someone even acknowledged us. I had to ask my wife if we were ghosts. We both chuckled. The bartender (later pictured) quite literally ignored us. My wife mentioned we may not be in his section. I nodded and while I accepted that as a potential reality. Nonetheless he could have said "hi" at the very least. Finally after what seemed like an eternity of staring at drink after drink being poured another bartender calmly and politely said he would be right with us. We were in no rush but hey when you have someone at a bar their not window shopping if you catch my drift. We ordered our drinks which arrived promptly. We were then greeted with chips and salsa and ordered our food at the bartop in light of the wait time for the restaurant. Our food was a simple order, a combo platter for me and the birracho tacos for my wife. Food took nearly 30 min but that wasn't a huge issue for us as we weren't in a rush. Drinks and service were prompt aside from the initial bartender ignoring us. Food was a mixed bag, my wife's birracho tacos were off the chain delicious. My combo platter consisting of a enchilada, tamale and Chile relleno were quite bland and just lacking in general. The combination platter is a pretty standard item at most Mexican restaurants so I was surprised at how lame my dish was. Coming full circle the bartender that ignored us happily helped the attractive blonde who sat down just next to us. So I guess my wife's theory has some holes in it. Maybe I should have instructed my wife to lose the jacket. To summarize the atmosphere in this place was popping. Cool place for Idaho. The first bartender should have made an effort. The bartender we had serving us was great and frankly I'm glad we got him instead of the guy pictured. Food was a hit and a miss. Price was appropriate for good food vs bad food. Drinks were good. I cannot honestly recommend this place based on the timing up front to even be acknowledged. It's pretty bad when a bartender is looking for things to clean vs greeting a new guest. Big miss and I'll take my money elsewhere. My wife (against my better judgement) will probably want to go back. This is as real as it gets. read more
