My husband and I both agreed this is by far the best restaurant we've ever eaten at. Period. Not just the best Mexican restaurant but the BEST restaurant ever. Our waiter was attentive, checked in on us just enough but not overbearingly. He was quick to deliver us our drinks and food which was hands down soooo delicious!!!! I ordered the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The beans came out hot and fresh, rice was steaming and the enchilada tortilla was tender and lightly crispy on the ends, the chicken was soft and tender as well... omg! My husband got the steak fajitas and he claimed to have never had better steak before. The vegetables were perfectly done and his side of rice and beans came out just as good as mine. We ordered two alcoholic beverages each; him the air salt margarita which was super unique in taste and I ordered two of the guava martinis. Amazing flavor and strong! I just ate the best shrimp. EVER. Bacon wrapped with melted cheese and topped with a rough pico de gallo. The shrimp were huge and the bacon crispy. It was so delicious. My absolute only complaint is that it's served on a board and it was very difficult to eat without the food scattering all over the place. Either needs a bigger board or another serving dish. The rice is very good also. My friends got the burrito and it was huge and looked delicious. Drinks were very good and presentation was extremely attractive. I could have done without the dozen or so renditions of happy birthday though. I appreciate that people want to celebrate out and want recognition but this was loud and disruptive and if you aren't expecting it the yelling will startle you. Maybe tone it down a bit? Sorry to say my favorite Mexican place in Idaho is no longer up to par. Took 5 friends for lunch Saturday and was told a 30 min wait. After and hour, 2 friends gave up and left. Now a party of 3 we finally got seated 1.5 hrs after arriving. Took an additional 45 min to get our food! (25 min for my beer!) Friends wife got sick after eating the Chix and Beef fajitas, my taco and Cheese enchilada was only so so but the salsa (normally my favorite) was just like water and the flavor was close to how it looked. The manager couldn't even be bothered to apologize for the wait! All and all very sad. I'm sure they are having trouble getting help like so many other places but they need to keep the quality of food up. They also need to be honest and up front on wait times. I would drive from Boise just to get a Margarita, chips and salsa - they were so good! (Especially the old location!) If your going to try them be sure and call ahead and get reservations!! They said even Saturday for lunch they took them! Who would think, reservations in Kuna for lunch? I guess this is our new normal? I will come back but perhaps not until the fall or winter to see if they can pull it together. I do wish them luck as it's a beautiful place! We use to go to the downtown place. Since they've opened their larger restaurant, the service has became extremely slow. Our last time there we had reservations at 7, didn't get sat until 7:30, and finally finished dinner at 9:45. The servers are nice, but extremely slow. The food quality is also degrading, but our main reason for not going now is the long wait and dining time. read more

This was quite a nice find, the wait was long but when we got there at a time when a lot of people waiting. I ordered a res en su caldo, which translates to beef soup; though it was made quite differently from others I have had, it was good still, just not what I was expecting. My wife ordered a Chile relleno, my mother in law a burrito, and my daughter carnitas, they were all very pleased with the taste and presentation. The restaurant is very well organized and the decor tells you that the owners really take pride in their place, the music was appropriate and so lively that I caught myself slightly dancing with my shoulders. Being from California where a Mexican restaurant is on every corner, we of course love great Mexican food. But after eating at Enriques, I don't think we will be able to give any other Mexican restaurant a higher score than a 3... this is the #1 Mexican cuisine in the country. Went there for Cinco de Mayo! Saw the new remodel and love it. Bar is still there but they doubled their seating capacity. I love Mariachi music and it was there till close on Sunday. My wife and I went on Valentines Day and had reservations. We were seated a few minutes after arriving. Our server arrived promptly, took our drink order, and asked about appetizers. Soon our order was in and the wait began. I don't fault them for the time it took, it was Valentines and it was filling up rapidly. As we waited we enjoyed our chips and salsa, and both commented how it was better than average salsa, actually having a little heat. My wife had a Chicken Chimichanga, I went with the goat as you so rarely see it, and and both enjoyed our entrees. We agreed that both the rice and beans were improved by adding a little salsa to them, understanding that they must make these for the uninitiated masses. In the end we decided that we'd definitely come back again. The menu was interesting, offering more than the standard fare, and being able to dine locally was definitely a plus! read more

The fresh guacamole was good but the avocado salad was cold and I barely choked it down. The tacos were soggy and had no zest. These are really nice people. The first time I ate there, the food was wonderful. The second time was really substandard. I ordered ground beef tacos and what I got was 90 percent chopped onions. Two visits with same strike-out experience of lukewarm service (figuratively) and food (literally). Long waits for orders to be taken and food to arrive in spite of less than half full house both times. Not only was food half-warm on arrival but lackluster in flavor and we tried a number of dishes from the large menu from mole through enchiladas through pork cheek tacos. Still, food might merit rounding to 3 stars were it not for the indifference we felt from staff from the time we entered until we departed. Don't think we'll give them a third at bat. Kuna is a 'hike' for us and high expectations, as set by reviews, and ho-hum reality were so out of synch. And just when one thinks it couldn't be less a fit, they have a lunch buffet here for the 'all you can eat' crowd and that seldom bodes well for those ordering off the menu and expecting good food to result given buffet lunch kitchens are working to keep the hot table trays filled. No Bueno. But portions are large if that's your jam (we'd rather have quality over quantity), prices are par for the area for other full service Mexican food eateries and they have a bar that can whip up frou-frou drinks like big slushy Margaritas that have nothing to do with an authentic version but fit the huge portions theme. So it may be a fit for some. You could do worse. But you can sure do better too for good Mexican food and welcoming service - see below for other places we'd recommend. Different strokes. ENRIQUE'S IS MOVING FALL 2018: Worthwhile to say the owner seems a nice guy who is well liked in the local community. For the last couple of years he has been in the process of building a new and larger restaurant in Kuna and with bigger bar. I hear it may open as early as mid-September (2018). But the current restaurant is pretty large with tables tightly spaced to maximize chairs per square foot, as it were. And I wonder, if it is tough to provide good service and food at this size restaurant, doesn't one just multiply the quality deficits by adding more tables in a bigger space? P.S. FOR PERUVIAN: Sure is worth the drive to Kuna to go to Lima Limone Peruvian restaurant down the street from Enrique's for delicious food and friendly service. In small world mode, Lima Limone is owned by Enrique's brother and sister-in-law who is from Peru and does the cooking. PARKING: On street downtown. ACCESSIBILITY: One marked ADA parking spot (parallel) on street near door. Level in door. Many standard height tables. Seating on two levels with ramp to upper. Loo, on upper, is accessible. OTHER MEXICAN FOOD OPTIONS: In Boise, Andrade's is standout for us for full service Mexican restaurant for great food, stellar service. In Meridian, Mi Casa works too for good food, friendly service. Both owned by local people with Mexican heritage. Or veer off the traditional Mexican food path and enjoy boutique tacos and 'enhanced fast casual' service at Madre Boutique Taqueria in Boise owned by Chef John Cuevas and his wife, Julie. And in October-ish 2018 the owners of McCall based Pueblo Lindo should be opening their Meridian location of that great eatery. read more

Definitely the nicest Mexican restaurant I've ever been in! Decor was impressive and we loved the booths. The music was a little on the loud side, but not intolerable. Service was outstanding! I enjoyed the unlimited taco bar offering four meats and a vegetarian option, rice and beans for only $12.95! My husband enjoyed a carne asada special with a meat and cheese topped roasted poblano and a delicious roasted corn and jalapeño side. Kuna did right with Enrique's. The people are pretty awesome and the food is good. The inside is modern, comfortable and always packed. I've had the Birria tacos, fajitas and one of their burritos. All good. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star rating is the food is good but the price is definitely high. A little too high for the food. However, they do a great taco Tuesday bar that offsets that high cost. We do love this place, we just have to be ready to spend a pretty penny. read more

The food is good the majority of the time. The shrimp fajitas I had at the end of April warranted a picture being sent to my sister bragging. Last night's fajitas were ice cold and the vegi's were totally raw. Both my husband and I sent them back to be re-cooked. Of course, then the sides were cold. But what really incited this review, is finding out they now require you to "ask" for chips and salsa. After quite some time of sitting at the bar waiting for them, I finally asked, and was told "Yes, do you know you have to ask for them now? And you only get one basket and one salsa. If you want another one, you have to pay for it". Yes, we were charged $2.50 for the extra not even cup-sized bowl for the fajitas. Enriques has continuously raised their prices over the last two years, to the point where we may as well go to a higher-end restaurant. Nothing about their chips and salsa warrants them being charged for. In fact, had this happened a few months ago when all you were getting was red water in place of salsa, I would have given them a one-star. As it is, we've decided to put them on a break. We'll drive 10 minutes longer for a better experience and meal. I can't wait for another restaurant to come to the area. read more

My husband, I and had dinner there yesterday evening. And we were impressed by how well they are handling the COVID 19 situation. With tables being separated and tables being cleaned immediately, arrows on the floor, and no physical menu's instead you scan a bar code on your phone and order from their visuall menu. The food was great! We were there on all-you-can-eat Taco Tuesday. You could have chicken, beef, or pork tacos with a variety of sauces. They also had enchiladas, quesadillas, rice and beans to go with the tacos. Everything was very tasty. Nearby tables ordered fajitas and burritos. They looked delicious. Wish we lived closer. I would like to try everything! The employees were friendly. They didn't complain when all of our group didn't arrive at the same time. We were seated immediately and offered drinks and appetizers. They have a variety of Margaritas. Our waiter patiently helped me choose the Perfecta. It was large and exactly what I like. One of our group ordered a Prickly Pair Cosmo. The new location is a huge step-up from the previous. Interior is new, modern and nice. Service was the same, everyone is extremely nice and helpful. We went on Friday night which is likely one of the most busy. The newer location is larger, but was very packed. Food and drinks were a little slow because of how busy they were which is understandable. Wife had the camarones a al crema and I had my usual steak fajita burrito. Both were tasty, as americanized Mexican food goes. For desert the server recommended a new cheesecake they had and it was fantastic. read more

I went about a month ago and I promised them I would submit a review. My mother is from Mexico and she makes a plate called carne en su jugo... I could not believe it, I've never seen a place that even offers this plate since it's very authentic Mexican food and it was amazing. Very similar to my mother's home recipe! I can't recommend this place enough, I met Enrique and his daughter was serving us and I didn't even know it was his daughter but she was very sweet and very helpful. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The place is clean, I would highly recommend it and I will definitely be returning! WOW! Just let me say that this is the second review I have left for Enrique's. The first was 2016 when they were located in the original location downtown Kuna. This restaurant is family owned and family run. It had very humble beginnings and has grown into a successful restaurant because of the love and pure compassion to serve the very best to their customers. The owners have been long time residents in Kuna and are like family to many of the regulars who have been on the journey with them from those humble beginnings. The new restaurant is beautiful and the food is the very best Mexican food you will find in Idaho. They have a nice selection of special tequila and have started their tequila tasting events again. Check out their Facebook and follow them to receive updates on special events. If you haven't already stopped in, do so and have an amazing meal. Friday and Saturday evenings are packed so reservations are the only way you will get a table, they do have outdoor seating as an overflow or if that is your preference.
