I'm gonna do my rental car through enterprise. On a recent visit to see our son and daughter in Austin, when we got off the airplane, we were in the rental car within 20 minutes, and that includes picking up our luggage from the carousel. A few days later, we ended up with a nail in our tire. Luckily, there was an enterprise rental car location across the street from our hotel and they exchanged it for us quick and easy. Didn't really matter that I'm 7 months pregnant. He was just matter of fact since I have an out of state license and didn't have a credit card with me they couldn't give me the car. Our Uncle passed and we were going to Port Arthur, TX for his funeral service. I reserved an SUV (documents attached). Pickup on June 19, 2025 Return on June 21, 2025 S. May's location in Round Rock, TX I forgot that the last time I reserved an SUV (same location), I needed a major credit card. So I had to cancel my reservation. My sister, Gwendolyn [GWEN] King reserved a mini van. Pickup on June 19, 2025 Return on June 20, 2025 4352 IH-35 Austin TX 78745 Going to Port Arthur, TX was great but coming back to Austin, TX was a painful nightmare. A little after 2pm we are leaving the Houston area on IH-10 the engine light, a turtle above the D with alert displayed: STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN SOON We made it to a store in Sealy (Kathy's Corner 9027 IH-10 Sealy TX 77474) and the vehicle literally shut down. WE WERE STRANDED Gwen called Enterprise customer service. They told her someone will be calling back within 30 minutes. That never happened. 4 BLACK WOMEN 3 KIDS UNDER 6 WE WERE STRANDED IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY FOR HOURS WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE. It's around 7ish when I talked with a guy with a Muslim name. He told us, "when that alert comes on to ease off the accelerator then press on the accelerator. It would automatically go into gas mode." We tried and it failed. Gwen called Enterprise Customer Service again. Someone from Road Side Assistance called her back. They said, "they don't do service calls and they don't charge electric vehicles. Since we didn't have a commercial vehicle they couldn't help us." I called Enterprise Road Side Assistance a guy by the name of Deon assisted us. He created a ticket for service, he sent me links to keep up on the ETA. I get a call saying someone will come to tow the minivan. I asked what will happen to us. He said that we would have to wait for an Uber but the limit is 5 people so two Uber vehicles would pick us up to bring us to Alamo Airport. Now it's night time and nobody showed up. Deon from Enterprise Road Side Assistance called me back because someone canceled our work ticket. He created another one and sent me a link. A guy by the name of SAM called after 9pm. He said someone will be there in 60-90 minutes to tow the minivan. He then says, "Uber can only take us within 50 miles. Anything after that would be our responsibility." The minivan actually started with no alerts until we were entering LaGrange TX. The engine light, a turtle above the D with alert displayed: STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN SOON STRANDED AGAIN Gwen made phone calls again It's after 11pm and she gets a text message from a tow service saying HERE. They were at Kathy's Corner. She told them we are at Whataburger in LaGrange, TX. I noticed Gwen limping while walking and talking with someone from the towing service. Gwen's daughter saw a plug at Whataburger and charged the minivan. It's after 1am and we try to start the minivan and it started. As we were driving on Hwy 71, someone flagged us down because the back lights were off. We didn't know how to put the back lights on, we didn't know how to put on the bright lights. Hwy 71 going through Bastrop, TX doesn't have street lights and it's a lot of curves. We couldn't make it out of Bastrop, TX when the engine light, a turtle above the D with alert displayed: STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN SOON STRANDED AGAIN I called my bonus nephew and told him what was going on. Sent him our location and he showed up. Some of us was packed in his vehicle like sardines in a can but he followed behind Gwen with hazard lights. We couldn't get to Austin, TX good when the engine light, a turtle above the D with alert displayed: STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN SOON We were on Montopolis and Ben White (Hwy 71) This time, Gwen called Enterprise Road Side Assistance. We waited with her until they towed the minivan. We got home after 4am Gwen ended up going to the Emergency Room. They took x-rays and she has Trochanteric Bursitis (her leg was so swollen from fluid build up in her hip from standing so long). She have to stay off her leg for a whole week so now she's missing work. What is totally unfair is that Enterprise still charged my sister's credit card. No discounts. No apology. We are grieving from losing our Uncle so quickly and to add on to that getting stranded not once but several times. That Enterprise Rep rented us a faulty vehicle...someone reset the check engine light without fixing the problems. Enterprise caused us pain and suffering. That entire bill should be 100% refunded. Oh my, I've been looking forward to writing this. First off, our boy at the counter was more apathetic than Emenim. He seemed not to care that we were there in a crisis. Now ol son also did not provide the car we reserved online and forced us into a van that cost $30 more... that wasn't the end of it though. We were told that the price was $180 for the rental, but we ended up charged $210. So instead of $30, it was $60 more. You shouldn't allow reservations if you don't have the car. Last time this happened at Hertz, they gave us a free luxury upgrade. No extra charge. I've usually used enterprise because historically they've been more convenient, but this service was so dismal. I explained that we were stranded due to our car breaking down and the guy replied , yeah you and 85 other people. In quite a snarky tone I might add. Needed a 15 passenger van quick for a work road trip. This location had several! There is not really much room to park here though... luckily I did get a spot otherwise they were telling me to part at the Walmart?!? The van was clean and in good shape! Now this is not what I would call a chic magnet but it was going to do the job of getting several people in it, their luggage, and get us from point a to Point b and then c, d, and E. The staff were great to work with... courteous and quick. The location was simple to find. There is a lot of construction around the site so just be aware. What a joke of a store. We were stranded in Austin because of a wreck we had on Saturday night 4/12/25. We called our insurance company and filed the claim immediately, and were given a reservation number for this location, as we were informed they were the ONLY Enterprise facility open on Sunday in Austin. We started calling them at 10 AM, and every time we called, we were redirected to the national reservation center. We finally were able to make it to their location about 1:20 PM, 40 minutes before they were scheduled to close. When I finally got to speak to an agent, he looked up my reservation number and told me that it had just then been sent to them, and they would have nothing available for us until Tuesday 4/15. There was no attempt to help us get a vehicle any other way, and acted as though it was OUR fault that THEY were unable to help us get home to the D/FW area, even though we had a verified reservation! I was refused a rental after traveling 12 hours because I didn't have a major credit card. Airport was out of rentals so this was my next bet after booking online. Place is ok. Had to wait outside before someone came out to get me my reservation. It was lightly raining this day. I could not come inside because of COVID restrictions, which kinda sucked. We all was masked up and could have social distance from one another. Got outside to car to check all was good. But the handheld unit went out, so I had to wait again another 10 min for another to charge credit card. I'm sure this is not the locations fault, but not the best way to do business, specially on a rainy day. But the car was good/clean and was given a slight upgrade since the reservation car was not available so no complaints there. Called last week to make a reservation next day, but the first available was a Tuesday of the next week. Rescheduled my car repair to accommodate car reservation. I set up reservation at a specific time. Arrived at approximately the set time and was told there were no cars available and I'd have to wait till someone came to return one. I waited about 45 minutes. I get running a tight ship, having an efficient business and supply chain issues, but this is a poor customer experience. I'm not sure what the cause of my experience is, but it was frustrating and disappointing. I've exclusively been renting from them my entire adult life. I'm thinking in the future I will check with other rental companies. This also may be a one off, but it was happening last week and this week. As I heard reps answering calls at the desk it was the same info I got. Seems like their new standard practice. I'm satisfied with the car I got .. I didn't know about this location until I had to look it up on their website. Thank god it was close to me. Once you make a reservation for a car rental, you can request a free ride to the rental car place and home on the day of your reservation. Phew! I thought I had to call a Lyft. Then when you enter their facility you are greeted right away. I had a choice with cars and I took the white Chevy Malibu. Even though I am in love with my Toyota Tacoma, it was nice to have a rental car with up to date technology. I drive an old car. I was out of there less than 5 minutes. No waiting around. read more

I went to here to drop off my rental (had to drive from out of state) and they were very nice about everything! There was a miss communication on when I was going to return my car, I was told they'd be closed Sunday and needed to return Monday, turns out they were closed Monday and open Sunday so I had to return it a day late. This is by far the friendliest Enterprise location I have encountered, and I have visited many! Their health precautions are always on point, and staff members are always more than ready to quickly assist me. I have rarely spent more than ten minutes onsite here while renting a car, and returning routinely takes less than five. I am never pressured to add protection packages that would be superfluous for me, and when a choice of cars is available I always get my pick! Jack is my favorite of the staff -- what a friendly and amazingly helpful guy. I have received upgrades a few times at this branch and am always made to feel as though I am a valuable customer. I rented from this location recently due to a car accident. The process was pretty smooth and they dropped me off where I needed to go. The insurance coverage expired and the told me that they would get an extension which apparently never happened. I dropped off the car last week when my car was ready and they said they would speak to the insurance company about the bill. I never heard back from them and assumed that everything was fine. Imagine my surprise when I got my credit card statement and found that they had charged my account for almost $700.00! No bill, no invoice and no communication. One of my biggest frustrations in dealing with a business is having self service masked as customer service. This was my experience here. I reserved a Camry on the phone and was told there would be no deposit charged on my credit card, but there would be a deposit on a debit card if that's what I used. I get to the store and I'm dealing with one of the reps. He asks someone to get "keys" not keys to a specific car or the car with a reservation under my name, just "keys". A shiny faced kid walks up, very proud of himself as he announces, "you got a free upgrade." I ask to what and he says a Nissan Rogue. Well, no offense, but I don't want an SUV and I was told the Camry was being held for me. Not the case. So telling you one thing and giving you what they want to give you instead is called an upgrade. Well it wasn't an upgrade to me. I walk out to the lot to this alleged upgrade and it's completely coated in dirt. So now I'm doing a walk around on the Rogue to see any damage to the vehicle. Since it's coated in filth I have to wipe down the car to make sure I'm not missing damage to the vehicle that they'll try to make me pay for later. At this point I'm regretting my decision to come here. You give me a car I don't want, it's filthy. When I point it out to the guy I'm working with he shrugs it off saying something flippant. So my concern is not your concern, cool. I forgot which one of us works there and which one of us paid money to be there. We get inside the car and the guy tells me that he's going to charge $400 to my credit card. I tell him I was told on the phone that I would not be charged a deposit on my credit card. I get a very patronizing explanation of what a deposit is and why they charge it. Now I really regret being here. Unfortunately I don't have time to argue with him as I have to get to work. As the day goes on I feel the need to speak with someone. In the early evening I decide to call but the store is closed. I call a customer service number and get someone on the line who is very difficult to understand who has the same issue comprehending what I'm saying. I get transferred to the "escalated customer service" department where I explain my situation to then be told that this is essentially an answering service and they do not have the ability to handle anything. So your call has to be escalated to leave a message, great! I was told that someone would call me the next day from the Regional Office, that still has not happened three days later. I was also told I might want to speak with the branch manager. The next day after no call came from the regional team I decided to call the branch manager. He wasn't there, but when I asked to speak with the next person in charge the voice on the phone confidently told me, "I'm actually the Area Manager, so I can help you." I explain that I want them to pick up their vehicle and refund the charges and tell him about my dissatisfaction with the filthy vehicle and my "upgrade". The Area Manager tells me that nothing I want will happen, but he is going to provide some training to his staff and goes silent like that is some kind of benefit for me. I point out to him that as someone who doesn't work there who will likely never return, know that you're going to train your people in some basic common sense is not much help to me and it does nothing to return your vehicle or my funds. It's embarrassing that I am having to explain basic customer service to someone who is allegedly in charge of an...area. He goes on to reiterate that his people need training and he's grateful for my feedback. I remind him once again, you've done nothing to solve my concerns here. Then he has the audacity to correct me and explain to me that the Rogue is, in fact, an upgrade and a wonderful vehicle that I was lucky to get. You scientist, if I'm calling you to tell you I was not satisfied with being given a different vehicle from the one I was promised, you handle it. Instead I get a lesson on how I don't know what I want. Finally, Area Manager tells me to call another Enterprise store and they will come pick up their car, but no refund will be issued. It's all you need to know about a company to learn that giving you the wrong information, wrong product, a terrible experience is worth keeping your money. Things must be going great if Enterprise needs $50-$100 that bad. I call the store Area Manager tells me to call and they tell me they will not help. I get some attitude from the person on the phone and end the call. Like I haven't had enough frustration from this company already. I call the Customer Service line AGAIN to be told that nothing can be done there even during business hours. I'm told that a message would be sent to the Regional Team who would follow up in 24 hours. Still waiting on that call now at over 48 hours. You must upset a lot of people at Enterprise. Last-minute rental was my best experience with Enterprise in the past year! (I'm a frequent renter) Turned off by a bad experience with a woman in the downtown location. I came to this location and Gabby took such great care of me. She did her best to get me in and out promptly with rushing me, which is a tough line to walk. She also dealt very gracefully with my indecisiveness and vehicle class changes. I must have made a dozen trips in and out the front door, just to move luggage, and she looked to me if I needed help each time. The only negative worth mentioning is that the women's restroom had flooded just before I came, and they were working on getting it cleaned up. By the time I left, they were wrapping it up. I came in after a great experience with Caliber collision right down the street. I was sent over by insurance with everything needed for a rental car to be ready for me upon arrival. First I had to wait at caliber for a half hour until they never appeared. Caliber expressed their concern so personally drove me over. I only waited in line for about 5 minutes which was about the best thing they offered. After paperwork and some chaos in the office ( not concerning me but still a little off putting) I been waiting for over a half hour. They told me I would only wait a half hour, but can't promise anything. A bunch of people were angry and waiting. I kept my cool cause I felt bad for them. I heard a man who had a reservation for a car 2 hours prior saying "what's the validity of a reservation is there's no car for me when I made one". The lady responded "the reservation is just insurance that you will get a car TODAY." Such bs. He was elderly and I felt bad for him. Definitely not happy with this. Still haven't gotten my rental and I've waited for them over an hour since they never picked me up from caliber. This company is large so I'm sure they don't care, they're probably only loosing a little business on the large scheme of things, but they definitely are loosing their integrity. Hope I get my car soon and hope the elderly man that was promised one gets his as well soon. UPDATE: Never got car from them while waiting there over 30 minutes, but raised them to 2 stars because they offered to drop me back off at home and deliver a car. I told them I would not of been upset if they were just honest to me from the beginning and tell me that there Wasn't even a car on the lot for me, and that they had no idea how long it would take.
