When I asked her why she did it she said she had no access to do anything or split cost or differences She then proceeded to tell me to call customer service. When I told her why she didn't call them herself to ensure she did her job right she just told me she didn't do that and I had to call. This place also doesn't do walk through with you. They just sit behind their desk and don't do anything. This is my third time renting through BUDGET/AVIS and each experience regardless of the location had been the worst. At first I was a little skeptical, I've rented from small companies in LA. ALWAYS A DISASTER. I can't say that about this priceless, because I have a local license there was a mileage cap. I didn't mind the mileage cap for local renters. I was still able to go to morro bay to visit my dad. Back to Bakersfield, then to Oxnard and back to Bakersfield. If you're honestly using the car for simple driving you'll be okay. After talking to Alberto I truly understand why they have a mileage cap. Being a smaller company the cars they have in inventory are important to their day to day operation. I actually loved how quick the pickup process was! A day before I flew in I was contacted by the company. I signed all rental docs, sent my license and insurance documents. When I arrived for pickup it was so smooth and fast! I received a 2024 Toyota cross, very good on gas. Got great gas mileage, car was clean! Fully loaded gps, Bluetooth, nice big face screen. The weekly rate was over a hundred dollars cheaper than hertz, Avis and enterprise. I'm thankful I took the chance, I saved money and now have a cheaper place to rent from. Check-in was easy just make sure you keep an eye on your email a few days prior so you can submit all your information and documents. Pricing was amazing especially for the weekend! Way more affordable and then other big corporations such as enterprise or Hertz. The only downfall is they do charge $40 if you are paying with your debit card but still way more affordable compared to the competitors. Customer service was amazing. I was running late pick up and was not able to pick up my schedule time and they totally worked with me. me an amazing clean car drove like a dream so comfortable and great on gas. I definitely will be using them again for any future rental needs.

This location has one of the rudest customer service agents I have ever encountered. We had to drop…read moreoff a malfunctioning car and pick up a different one. When we were heading our to see the car, we asked if they would extend our delivery time since we would not reach our destination at a time we originally expected. "I don't know you'll have to ask the destination site" she muttered indolently. Then we got to the car, which reeked of cigarette smoke. Absolutely reeked. We asked if we could have a different car. Nope, that was the only one in its tier. We could have a different one but it'd be an upgrade. Or they could treat it. So we asked them to treat it, which from what we can tell seems to amount to a (also surly) worker driving it around with the AC on. Which didn't exactly do the trick. The car still stunk. The worker made several more obnoxious remarks, including claiming that she couldn't smell the odor, since, as she put it, "I'm from Bakersfield, I don't smell anything." Finally she mentioned that the upgrade would be only $5, which we accepted, to get a Nissan that at least drove well--the other option was a car that had garbage in it, because this location clearly does not properly clean their cars in between uses. As a final insult, she entered into the system that we were trading in due to choice and not mechanical issue, despite the fact that the check engine light was on and the car was clearly not driving properly. What a horrible experience.
