If you have a choice, and in the Ohio area you definitely should, please do yourself a favor and avoid the Enterprise branch in New Philadelphia. While I have had extremely positive experiences with other Enterprise employees, Kevin W, the Assistant Branch manager is one of the most indifferent, rude, and unmotivated people I have dealt with in this field. I had reserved a mid size SUV at the Columbus airport almost a week ago, and due to our flight being massively delayed we did not arrive until 11:30 Pm, along with many others. The airport lot was deserted, there was a long line, so when they brought us the Jeep Truck we knew it would not meet our needs, but figured this was the best that could be done at the time, I would get it remedied later. Little did I know that I had obviously been handed the herpes of rental vehicles, and branches would go out of their way in order to avoid trading it out. I have dealt with supervisors in the Ohio area who were extremely understanding and kind, and said they had spoken with the New Philadelphia branch, and they would be able to trade out my car. For 3 days I have called, and Kevin W would deny that he had agreed to these requests, and at first claimed to have no vehicles. As of yesterday, Kevin reluctantly told me he could provide me with a sedan. It was like pulling teeth to get details, and after asking 3 times I was told it was a Nissan Altima. Again I explained that I had reserved a mid sized SUV due to us having a large amount of luggage. The Jeep Truck did not meet the criteria because my luggage is exposed and not safe, and an Altima would not be large enough to carry it either. Kevin made no offers to help call other branches, or find out when an acceptable vehicle would be coming in. I said I would call back, and again contacted the Ohio numbers who said they would speak with Kevin's manager, so not to worry, it would be solved by morning. I called 4 times this morning, no answer, and decided to drive to the lot. It was PACKED. Easily 30 plus rental vehicles, at least 8-10 that would meet or exceed my needs, and what I had paid for. The gentleman in front of me was allowed to look in multiple vehicles to decide which one he was leaving in, and he was able to reserve a specific vehicle for a future date. Kevin obviously knew who I was due to the Jeep Truck, and did not even acknowledge my existence for a full 20 plus minutes. When it was my turn, it was obvious he had no intention of helping me. I told him my name, and he shrugged his shoulders and said he had a Nissan Altima. When I stated the obvious... that there are dozens of cars here, how could it be that there is only 1 available for me? He smirked and said they were all "reserved." That's ironic, because not only did I not get the type of vehicle I had reserved, but one would also think that I would have been placed on his branch's reservation list when I had been waiting 3 days for what I was promised. I don't believe this man has any respect for women, and it likely would have been a different story if my husband were present. I expect more from a company like Enterprise, this is not the kind of attitude that should be presented to not just the public, but paying customers. That office was closing in an hour and 20 minutes at the time I was there, and no other customers were present. The notion that all of those cars were set to leave the lot during that time was seriously laughable. This man had just decided he was going to lie to what I assume are his superiors and say he was going to help me, while having no intention of doing anything but telling me I will get what he thinks I deserve. I have called Enterprise corporate and I believe they will make it right, but if I never again step foot on the lot of New Philly that's fine by me. I hope anyone reading this heeds the warning and goes elsewhere. read more

We got the car we ordered, on time and ready to go. It helps to reserve in advance- I ordered 6 weeks ahead. Watching the demand on a holiday weekend it's easy to see how it is impossible for them to have the "right" car without advance notice. read more

While returning home from the memorial day weekend. A plastic shield partially detached on the interstate. We contacted roadside assistance an were told to drive yo the closest location open and they would swap the vehicle out. Well much to our misfortune we were told we would have to pay our deductible and a claim would need to be filed before we could get another vehicle. No accident, nothing was hit, this was something we believed would not be safe to travel 4 states back to our home. No policy was provided to show this was what needed to happen. The manager never spoke to us, nor were we provided his information when asked. The outcome is sad to report we were forced to duck tape the shield to prevent it from hitting the ground and traveled back home after a 3 hr delay. I have never experienced this and no one else should have too. Enterprise rental in Akron - Canton Airport do better. This entire day was longer than intended and it all could have been avoided. Treat your customers better with truth and integrity. read more

#1, even if you pay & $62 for a car that they are trying to sell on auction as you rent it and pay $22 for their insurance when you go to pick your car up they will put a $300 hold on your card. There was a mention of a hold on the website but nothing that suggested that it would be 5 times the rental of the car. As a result, I paid for the insurance, paid to get to the rental place, and then paid to get back home all while missing my sons graduation 100 miles away. They will feel this sting. They took something from me that can never be replaced. Also when I first walked in there was 6 of them looking for 1 lost set of keys while 6 of us stood in thr lobby knowing that our travel was probably doomed with idiots in charge like this. I hope they all lose their jobs and the company goes under. What you did was criminal. I will NEVER use this company again and I will sue for a lack of disclosure. P.S. Check your website. There is no $300 disclosure. I have screenshots of every square inch. BTW, after reading the other reviews it looks like Lisa S needs a criminal probe. I gotcha lisa. This is my second time renting with them because of car trouble and I will continue to use them for anything else that comes up. Hannah, Rick, Zach and even that shy guy treated us with professionalism, respect and friendliness you would expect. They went the extra mile and gave me a ride once I turned in the rental - both times. I would recommend them to anyone for any reason. This location of Enterprise has been the single worst customer service experience of my life. My insurance company scheduled an appointment a week ahead for a standard sedan. The day of my pick up, they called me and asked if I could come in later because they didn't have any cars. I had someone picking me up and time scheduled off work, so I politely told them that I really needed to stick to our appointment. When I arrived there, they only had a large pick up truck and a mini-van. I chose the mini-van, hoping it would be better on gas than the truck...little did I know that they were going to charge me extra for every day I had it since they considered it an upgrade! When my car repairs were complete, the body shop took back the mini-van and I thought our interactions were over. At that point, I didn't have any complaints. The next week, they took $491 out of my checking account WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME. Never mind the fact that the charges were incorrect since this was an insurance case. I should owe absolutely nothing. I made many calls to the branch office and they basically waited for me to stop talking to get me off the phone. No help at all. Then I called corporate and they did the same thing. Multiple calls. Eventually, they decided to refund me most of the money, but not all of it. Since then, I have had my insurance company trying to get my money back, but Enterprise now claims that they have no record of the additional charges! Are you kidding me? You still owe me $129.13...not a lot of money, but it is MY money. What a bunch of unprofessional jerks. Oh yeah, I even spoke to a regional manager. Another great rental experience at Enterprise. Nate came and picked me up again. The minute I walked into the branch, Josh the branch manager said, "Hey Jen. Welcome back." These are great guys. They are efficient and so customer-focused. They make renting a car a fun experience. Plus, they take great care of their cars. They are always clean, inside and out, and in proper working order. I was stuck at the airport because my reservation at Thrifty was canceled since airports now require a credit card or a round trip flight ticket and no one told me. I looked online and after seeing Enterprise had the cheapest car available I made a reservation. I didn't have a ride since I was dropped off when I asked about them getting me I was told they can't since there is already an enterprise in the airport. Not sure what sense that makes. I'm renting a car from you so maybe you could call the airport enterprise and tell them to take me... Anyways I get a Lyft to the location and she was super nice and it went smoothly. I had to put a $150 deposit down on the car. Once taken to the car though it was dirty looking despite looking having just been washed. Okay whatever. I get in the car and it stinks like smoke and something trying to mask the smell, almost like hairspray. I drive with the windows down trying to air it out. Once at home and putting my stuff in the car I see in the back seat soda thrown on the middle back console area. It doesn't look like it was wiped clean. While driving with my boyfriend I am talking about how it stinks like smoke and he says he knows why and pulls out someone's black and mild wrapper out of the door area. Ewwww. I'm grateful I found a place to rent a car but it sucked that they didn't clean the car and wouldn't drive 10 minutes up the road to get me when I was a customer and that I had to pay $8 to their business when they promise a ride on their commercials. Returning the car was easy and I got my deposit back 2 days later like the employee said I would. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever experienced renting cars. The agent who in his opinion helped me out, did nothing of the sort. This individual was non professional, tacky, and litteraly communicated to me like a child. The vehicle that I was given, not chose, was a van. I wasn't happy. Upon checking the van out, which was not a thorough job, on the agents part, except the perimeter, the top of the van was not thoroughly inspected. When I returned the vehicle, the top of the vehicle was thoroughly inspected. Low an behold, there was an issue. On top of the van, in the back, there were multiple, in sequence, indentations of different sizes. Funny how the visual of that, before I drove it off the lot, was not an option. The way that the vehicle was parked, back being towards Whipple Ave, it was impossible to get a even, clear, and precise visual of what I believe to be, minor indentations that were there before I drove off the lot. I have a history of positive, personable, caring, and sence of urgencied experiences with Enterprise. The E Tallmadge branch in Akron that is. This particular time, my normal branch, which has gone above and beyond to please who? Me, the customer, didn't have any cars available, so they referred me to the Canton Whipple branch. Never again. This has location has been the worst experience I have ever experienced. Never again. I specified, after this particular agent, who was the most unprofessional, sloppy, and tackie agent I have ever been helped by, after he zoned in on the indentations, that as long as I've had the van, litteraly for three days, nothing happened to it on my clock. Obviously he didn't believe me, and now I am being charged for small indentations that are not worthy of being labeled damages. The kicker is, this clown filled out a damage report with multiple misspelled words, a run on sentence, as well as no period. The description was very dramatic, inaccurate, and exacerbated. Of course I did not sign it. I am being billed, for something that was already there, the agent was aware of it, and was impossible to see before I drove off the lot. I have called corporate, I have a lawyer, and I am fired up and more than prepared to fight this. read more

Three years ago we rented from Enterprise for our trip to South Carolina, they were calling for snow so we reserved an SUV. We had decided it was a much more economic bet than putting the gas and mileage into taking our truck. When we got to the airport to pick up our rental ; which they had called and said was ready we were shocked to hear that they had given our SUV to someone else when we got there and that we would now be given a small KIA car; for the same price as the SUV. Now today my husband is once again making the trip down to South Carolina for their company holiday party and reserved an SUV, specifically a RAV4 is what the representative had stated however once my husband and neighbor just drove through a snow storm to pick it up and they were told not only was the SUV not there but they had no vehicles available for my husband at the Market Ave location or at the airport. There was possibly an SUV at the North Canton location but it was close to 6 and they would not remain at the location until 6:10 for him to pick up the SUV. So now my husband will be driving his 2500 truck from Ohio to South Carolina because once again a reservation at Enterprise has meant nothing. We are highly disappointed in the lack of customer service as well as they complete disregard for the time and money we had to waste once again. We will never rent from Enterprise again. read more

All the staffs over there were very friendly and customer focused, but some of the new staffs are very rude in their behavior.. They will treat you like you are there to steal a car from them..
