    NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS LOCATION OR AVIS in general…read more Reserved and rented a car from this location because it was the closest to me open at 6am. Arrived to pick up my car on time and the girl at the front was great. She was polite, just doing her job. The first red flag was when the car I rented was given to me on E! Yes that's correct an empty tank. I was told to just get gas and to just return it on empty. Problem was that there closest gas station is like more than 3 miles away. I was way below E praying while driving to the gas station. Once we were about an hour into our trip. I noticed my husband was smacking his arm, I looked over and saw a few ants. Thought ok no biggie just a few ants. Next thing you know we are well into our trip with limited cell service and realize that this car is in fact INFESTED with ants. Coming out of the carpets, vents, panels, EVERYWHERE!! We finally get to a place and contact AVIS customer service. After 30 min of getting no where on the phone their solution was for us to take time out of our trip and find a car wash under $25 and wash the car ourselves. They would reimburse us $25 A car that should have been given to us clean and not infested with bugs. Called them back as the problem was getting worse as the day went on. Their next solution take a detour and take it to the nearest Avis and have then give us another car but we would still need to pay for this one. Once we took a detour and got to the nearest Avis they were closed for the day. Called back and they told us to keep trying or keep washing the car. We basically had no choice but to keep the car and drive it back. AVIS corporate was absolutely no help. Once I arrived back at the original location to drop the car off and let the young man at the front desk know what was going on. He went outside to check the car and confirmed the ant infestation. He apologized and gave me the franchise owners card. I then contacted Alejandro who apologized and told me to give him 24 hours and send him the info through WhatsApp. I dld and he completely ghosted me. The messages were all read and ignored. It wasn't until I messaged him and let Alejandro and corporate know that our attorney would be contacting them that he answered an email 4 days later telling me corporate handles these situations not him.

    GOOD RENTAL CAR, AFFORDABLE RATES…read more But first and foremost, nobody speaks English. This would have been good to know in advance. My previous visits to Mexico never required a rental car. This trip was an experiment. When people say "it's easier to just walk across the border and rent a car". I'm not sure what level of "easy" are they talking about?! Everything is easy until the lines of communication is broke. 1) Chose this place because it had more affordable pricing than many of the other rental cars at the border. Everything was prequoted and arranged online. Car, gps, insurance, etc etc. total came out to $43.97... make sure to bring a credit card or check your credit card to see what insurances are covered before paying extra insurances you don't need. Uhm, oh yah, this place has a high deposit of 10,000 pesos ($509 dollars). 2) Uber'ed to the address on the email notification sent. WRONG ADDRESS. Uber destination was a small lot infront of residential homes and businesses. The Uber even looked confused because he knew the destination was suppose to be a rental car shop. Had to search yelp and google maps to gauge true distance. About 0.5 miles notth was the correct location. 3) NOBODY SPEAKS ENGLISH. Although conversation was challenging, everything went pretty smooth. This may not be a good place for someone who doesn't speak an inklet of Spanish (hence, ME). We couldn't understand each other, however I've rented cars in many occasions and know the process, and with the help of google translate we were able to get by with head nods, thumbs up, and many laughs. Through the language barrier, the guy at the front desk in the morning had exceptional customer service. Received the documents and EVERYTHING was in Spanish - not a word in English. 4) Pick-up. My reservation time pick up is for 08:30, got there 20 minutes early, no other customers, and didn't leave the lot until 09:15/9:20. The order included an extra accessory, GPS. I asked the guy at the counter if the GPS can be in English and he said yes. LIES. Little too late, after leaving TJ and turning on the GPS it was in Spanish. GPS was useless!!! Anyways, the car they gave me was a good reliable car. 5) Drop-off. Different guys at the counter in the late afternoon. Again, they don't understand English. Friendly but not as friendly as the morning guy. We figured we barely understand each other so we barely talked. Prior to drop off, topping off gas is required. That was another challenge. Nobody at the gas stations spoke English. Drop-off was easy. Checked the car and then took the key. The counter guy asked me (using google translate) if the deposit and fee was on the same card and then showed me on a calculate the dollar (not pesos) amount that was going to be charged to my account. I have a receipt so I wasn't ripped off. and that's it. Likely, won't be back. Service was good - it's just we can't understand each other.

I told them I don't smoke and was reading there rental agreement witch states nothing about smoking in there car. They do not provide you with a check sheet when you return it. They are making up false claims to get money and now I have to take this to small claims court to get this money back. No matter how good there prices look for rental cars it's not worth the headaches. Read other reviews as well. Wish I would have known that prior to dealing with this company

The customer service I received on the evening of March 22 from a representative named Diego (wearing glasses) at Budget was absolutely unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, after rushing to make it in time for our reservation, we were treated with suspicion and condescension rather than support. Despite having confirmation emails, codes, and even providing our card details over the phone through Budget's actual system, Diego made us feel as though we had been scammed or somehow made up the reservation. He was dismissive, rude, and rolled his eyes when I asked for help. I remained professional the entire time and simply asked him to check if there were other locations with availability or to provide his manager's contact. Instead of helping, he handed me a piece of paper with contact info for Avis, not Budget, and was completely unwilling to assist further. His attitude was not only unhelpful--it was incredibly disrespectful. To make matters worse, we were left without transportation late at night despite following all the proper steps to reserve a vehicle through Budget. When I asked about his manager, he stated his name was Alejandro, but based on how the rest of the interaction went, I now question the accuracy of even that information. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I hope Budget takes this seriously and provides proper training or accountability for representatives like Diego. No paying customer should be treated this way--especially not when stranded and relying on a confirmed reservation.
