I only received nothing but the BEST customer service at this location. I have traveled the world and I have seen the Best and boy they nailed it! I got into an accident 2 weeks ago and my insurance company set me up with enterprise. They were very professional i.e. (Luke) picked me up from my house, the communication from the start (Alex) was on point, straight forward, he was caring and polite, they informed me when they were running late. (Dan) asked if I needed any other services and how they can improve as well. From start to end nothing but genuine care and service. I wish all rental company are staffed like this location they have raised the bar. They know what customers service looks like and should be. They truly listen to their customer never pushy. Don't go here save yourself the headache. Beth don't know nothing about nothing apparently don't ask her nothing. The branch manager will say " I apologize for the lack of communication" but not do anything to help the situation. The lack of notice is crazy. They will demand you to come in per policy but the front desk does not email or send any notices prior. I guess I vomited in my car and had no idea! I did not vomit in my car. I have a special needs child that eats snacks in the back like goldfish. Nobody vomited in my car. I asked the girl that morning if she wanted me to vacuum she said no that it would be cleaned anyway and did not mention no type of detailing fee. 470$ to rent a car that I didn't even get to choose for 8 days. That's crazy. They need better systems or communications within their team. This could've all been avoided if they would have sent me a notice of when my insurance was not going to cover it. Considering I went through with insurance, this should be common practice. As well as letting me know about a 250$ detailing fee for a Mitsubishi. If I had all the money in the world I wouldn't be taking my time to leave a review, like this but I do not and it's holidays coming up, I am highlyyy upset. It is so annoying that I was hit and had to have a huge inconvenience and the one thing that was supposed to be easy and covered by insurance was, but they did not let me know the last day. They didn't even warn me on the first day overdue or the next or the next. Don't worry yall the branch manager apologized. My financials are not this company's problem, but like I said they should've called me on day one. Why would they have me driving if the car was not payed for those days. A rental was needed after someone hit my car; the other guys insurance was to cover the cost. I dropped my car at the body shop & a Hertz rep was kindly waiting to drive me to the Hertz in Elgin to secure a rental. Worst drive of my life. The young man 4 mo on the job struck up a conversation by asking me what I did for a living. Then he preceded to tell me, before his job at Hertz, he was in film in Vegas. He was in porn as an actor & camera man and he really enjoyed it! Seriously? Simultaneously, he proceeded to do 50mph in a 30mph residential zone. I really did not need to know about the Hertz reps previous porn life or be in a vehicle with a guy driving dangerously wreck-less! Then while checking out, I questioned the woman's request for a $50 deposit from my own account because the other guys Ins was paying for it. The woman became over the top defensive saying, Ma'am if you are taking my $25k vehicle off my lot you absolutely have to pay a deposit! I pushed back... "whoa, whoa, I think you misunderstood my question. I'm not questioning the needed deposit...I'm questioning why the insurance didn't pay it, 1 & why I wasn't told it was required ahead of time! " There was no reason for all this I'll never use this facility again if I can help it! They are all unbelievably helpful, caring, efficient, friendly and would go above and beyond just to make sure their customer's needs were satisfied. Nadia has a very kind heart like an Angel. She gave me the best car I could get and an awesome deal too. She is more than amazing! When I returned my rental, another Angel by the name of Sandy made sure I was well taken cared of and even gave me a lift back home. Another awesome experience. Just came in today with my husband with a set reservation made a week prior for a rental ....& even with a priority pass they told us they didn't have a rental available for us . I rarely write reviews but I have to give a shout-out to the employees at this specific location. I've been consistently renting pickup trucks and was in need of trucks with a tow hitch. Though they can't guarantee I'll always get that, they've worked really hard to provide it and I'm super appreciative of their efforts. There have been occasions when I've gone in and it's been very busy with the phones ringing or customers waiting inside. Despite the chaos, they've all been friendly, welcoming, and acknowledge the wait time. My rentals have always been clean and well kept. I will continue to rent from here and I look forward to referring more people to this particular location. I can't thank you enough for your help and your efforts! They were able to get me a vehicle the same day which I was glad about but they conned me into paying for half a tank of gas and told me I could bring it back empty. Not knowing that they can't prorate if you bring it back with gas in it. If you do pay for the gas ahead of time make sure it is less than what's at the pump that day and bring it back empty if you prepay for the gas. read more

Went to pick up the car I reserved only to be asked to wait while they attended to other customers. 2 were walk ins, no advance reservations. After about 30 minutes, someone was finally free. They told me no similar cars were available-they just issued the last one. I could upgrade to an available car but I'd have to pay the difference. I refused (since I had a reservation and I was picking up on time). They asked me to wait for a similar car they were pulling out of the garage they were cleaning, rather than upgrading me for their mistake. 20 minutes later, I was about to walk out the door, they pulled around a car for me. It had a flat and the check engine light was on. No thanks. They asked me to wait while they repaired it. I refused. As I was walking away, another car was returned & they started handling that customer while again I was pushed to the side. Had my card not already been charged, I would've walked away. Finally they handed me the keys. It was for the returned car. It was filthy; full of trash, wasn't washed or vacuumed. The agent tossed the trash & told me I needed to drive straight to the gas station because it was on E & couldn't make it more than a few blocks. I was shocked at the poor service. I ensured the paperwork documented the gas gauge. When I left I realized they charged me for the upgrade I didn't take, a full gas tank (really?) and the insurance I declined anyway. Drove back & they reversed the charges but it took persuasion. In all, it 90 minutes from the time I left with my scheduled reservation. I would have demanded a cancellation but since I was supposed to leave at the time of my scheduled reservation, I was desperate. Would never rent another car here. Awful service, terrible execution and shady business practice. I'll drive farther and stick with Avis. read more

Impeccable service! Made a last minute reservation. Got a call a few minutes later from Mark to let me know they might not have a car for me. Very proactive! I explained I couldn't risk waiting until the end of the day to find out if he could find a car he asked me to give him 45 minutes to try and find a vehicle for me. He not only found a vehicle but it was brand spanking new. He made sure corporate delivered all the way from South Chicago to their location in Elgin in time for me to have it available at the time I needed it. Mark rocks! That is SERVICE! I needed a car while mine was being repaired. I told the clerk the days I wanted and asked if I return it early will I be credited for the early return? She said yes. That was a lie. When the car was brought to me they parked it in a Handicap parking space. I am not handicapped nor was the clerk. When I said I felt it was wrong to park in this spot she told me we always do it's only for a few minutes. I asked her why they felt it was okay to do a few minutes several times a day. What if some one needed the spot she replied it's a big spot they would fit too. So wrong on so many levels. The car was clean inside and very dirty outside. When I returned the car early I was not credited for the early return because when I asked if I was credited for an early return originally the clerk did not ask me the right questions when she said yes? The locations in Elgin west and Algonquin are great. Though your website offers no where to pay for this toll fine I've been sent from enterprise. The paperwork it is sent on offers no .com or even the option to pay in store. No phone number to call. When calling the automated phone line, no option for customer service. Obligated to hit the reservation button to get in touch with a human. Who then tells me I need to call back after 8am. Which I will be sleeping, as I work third shift. Why have a 24 help line if there's no one there to help? I'm trying to give you my money but you're not letting me give it to you. Terrible business sense. I agreed with Mr. Drummer who had problem with the toll. I had the same problem back in January. I tried to call the number the office game me it was o voice recorder. I left messages but no one call back. Now they send me bill for $16 for 80c toll when i tried to pay via the toll site but it could not locate the toll plaza i put in and when i called the customer services, i was told to call enterprises for them to send me the bill so i could put it on I-pass. Enterprise as a whole is just terrible. The lady at the Elgin location was nice. I went to the St. Charles location to pick-up my reserved car. 1) They didn't have the type of car I wanted. Granted, I was given a choice of other types of Vehicles for the same price. 2) They then wanted to run my credit card for $300. I was $40 short. Here in lies the problem. I had called the St. Charles location 2 days before and made sure I have everything required. As far as I knew, they used to take a deposit for $200. My car for the weekend would have been $80. Nonetheless, I double checked and asked for what I would need, and confirmed my reservation and price. I was not informed regarding the deposit... again in spite of me asking. BTW you get this deposit info from a person, it's not posted on the website. So I was shocked to find out that I would need more money. My bank is about 40 minutes away, plus trying to deal with rush hour. Enterprise would close in hour. No way I was going to make it back in time. I was angry to be left with no car that i needed to travel. Although I have talked to the corporate regarding this issue, and they sympathized, they have not done good on their promise to address this issue. DO NOT GO WITH ENTERPRISE. They need to be out of business. read more

I cannot say anything nice about this location. I rented a 15 passenger van 1 month in advance for a charity event. I also called and confirmed 2 days prior. When I arrived on the scheduled day and time. I was told that my vehicle was there and waiting. When I pointed out that the van waiting was a 12 passenger not a 15 passenger he tried to tell me I was wrong. When the computer told him it was a 12 passenger he apologized and told me he would make it right. I was then told after waiting 15 minutes to do the paperwork on the 15 passenger, and take the 12 passenger. I was then told to drive the 12 passenger to another location and swap it out. I tried to tell them to deliver the 15 passenger to my house. I was instructed that they could not do this. I pointed out that the other location was only open for another 20 minutes. The employee told me that he would call and make arrangement to have them wait and have the correct van waiting. When I arrived 4 minutes after closing I was shocked to find the location closed and no one around. I also found my 15 passenger van full of garbage and sitting in the back lot. The fact that the van was full of garbage tells me that they were not even going to attempt to make their mistake right and that the van was not intended for me. I tried to call and get a hold of someone from Enterprise but ended up in voicemail limbo. When I left a voicemail demanding a call back upon opening the next morning I waited all the following day and was never contacted. I had returned the van about two hours after renting it since it would do me no good for the charity event. ENTERPRISE ruined the event for our group and I will never rent from them again. (we all had to separate and drive 4 vehicles) read more

I had reserved a mini van about a month earlier. When getting there they said they were suppose to have 4 mini vans come in but none had arrived. I understand if people don't bring the car in on time. We were upgraded to Ford Expedition which seated 8 and plenty of room for luggage. It rode good and made the trip very nice. They did go to the next step to make this work for us. read more

Okay, I've been renting pretty much every weekend for the "$9.99" a day for the past 2-3 years. The deal does not go through summer months (understandable) so for the 35 weekends maybe that I've dealt with these guys at Elgin Enterprise, they have come through at least 90% of the time. I've gotten surprises because they didn't' have a compact and had nothing else but a nicer car for me or suv. I've also had arrived and they've had nothing. NOT their fault 100% Jerks that don't understand that there is the other side of it, when people do NOT return their cars on time, where are they supposed to get them from. When a customer says they'll be back at a certain time, they expect that and tell their customer they'll have a car. Anyways, I'd rate them a 7-8. The people are friendly, courteous and helpful. read more

I like the location. The staff are very friendly and eager to help. A staff member called me a couple days into my trip to ask how everything was going...much appreciated. I have an on-going issue with my mother-in-law having cancer in W.Va and my wife needs to go back and forth to visit. When I check your website, your rental prices fluctuate too much. I reserved a car for the end of the month and go it for $20/day. I went back yesterday to to reserve another one for another trip and now it's $40/day. That's a good way to loose business.
