I have been going to this Enterprise for about 12-14 years. Benjamin and Jules were both kind enough to accommodate a last minute rental and last minute return. Even though they were super busy and had many customers waiting, they were very courteous and addressed everyone's questions and concerns efficiently and kindly. Jules was very patient and explained the contract quickly and thoroughly. The rental was a 2026 GMC Terrain and was really fun and nice to drive. They washed and vacuumed it well prior to releasing it to me. My only complaint was that when I used the AC, it smelled like the previous renters smoked in the vehicle and it stuck around the vents (which was no fault of Enterprise). Tyler (the branch manager) was pleasant to work with, kept the check-in process running smoothly, and was professional throughout my visit. My concerns are primarily with Benjamin S. (though the tablet used was Dee's) and my overall experience with Enterprise. Due to limited vehicle availability, I was given a blue hybrid Toyota Camry. While my reservation email indicated I would receive a Nissan Altima, I could see that vehicle had been assigned to another customer ahead of me. During the vehicle review Benjamin asked what brought me in. I explained that I had filed a comprehensive insurance claim after running over debris on the highway. His response was, "I've never heard that one before." The comment came across as dismissive and condescending. After I provided additional details about my vehicle, Benjamin responded by saying, "Well, this car is better." I did not ask for his opinion on my vehicle, and the remark felt very unnecessary and unprofessional. The overall interaction felt standoffish and unwelcoming. I called to confirm the Harder & Mission location had a Ford Edge and a Dodge Durango available; the representative confirmed that they did. I told him we wanted to see both vehicles before choosing. He put both on reserve. My mom has dealt with this Enterprise outpost twice before and had unpleasant experiences both times, but they are conveniently located so I took a chance and was relieved that the call went so smoothly. About 10 minutes later I received a call from another Enterprise representative trying to sell me on a van instead because they didn't have EITHER of the "confirmed" vehicles at the Hayward location. Save yourself the headache; don't deal with this poorly run bait and switch operation. I think the staff at this location deserves 5 stars. I never had a bad experience here even though they are really short staff and very busy. This is the only location in hayward and I see the amount of stress the staff is under especially dealing with rude and obnoxious customers. I never seen the staff lose their cool to anyone in my presence. I booked a compact SUV online and received a couple reminders about my booking, which was helpful. When I arrived to pick up the rental, the staff was professional and friendly and let me choose between two vehicles. During our trip, we got stuck in mud and snow. In the trunk, the spare tire had part of the jack but was missing a key piece, which made it unusable. I called the Hayward office to let them know we're stuck, and that the Jack was missing of piece, which meant we couldn't get ourselves out of the mud. Edmond Siu answered our call and was extremely apologetic and concerned for our safety. He understood why we were so upset and said that he would refund couple of days for the trouble. He looped us into roadside assistance and they worked with the company Triple M to get us out. It was dark at 6pm and we were very isolated. Thankfully we only had to wait maybe an hour and a half before we were able to drive home. The floor on the driver and front passenger seat were full of mud. I did clean it out as much as possible and when I returned the car and explained that to Edmond. He took it from there and said it was no problem. I was really happy I got full coverage plus roadside assistance it made it possible for me to get home and walk away knowing that everything was OK. Horrible service. Booked a full size SUV a month in advance for a big trip we had. They had the courtesy of calling me a day before letting me know they won't have a car for me to pick up. I asked for anything similar or if they could check other locations for me. They told me they couldn't do that and I would have to call around myself to see what's available and that I would be charged a new rate, which was more than twice for what I had it booked for because it was last minute. I booked a car in advance as my car was going to the body shop. I showed up and there was a line with one person working. When it was my turn in line the representative said it would be 15 minutes. I waited 30 and was provided two options--a damaged vehicle with no tire caps or another vehicle with no tire caps. For the amount I was paying ($11) daily and not including what my insurance was covering in my opinion that was ridiculous. I had recently been to Hertz and was in and out of there quickly with no problems. I was already on a time crunch and unhappy with the choices so I left. Horrible customer service. I went to drop off a car and had my mother in law waiting for me in the parking lot. Here comes this lady "ALANA JOHNSON" comes screaming at the other employee there " Why the fuc** did you let them parked there" " move this car NOW'" mind you my mother in law does not speak English screaming at her and cussing at her. I asked the other employee who was so nice who was that lady. She proceed to said "that will be our manager she will be promoted " asked her for her information she was so scared to say something because she may fire her or be treated differently. The manager there was "Justin" he didn't even correct her or addressed this with her. Came out and talked me and apologized but did not do anything. She kept laughing and looking at me and making fun of my mother-In-law while we were there waiting. BUT??? Where do the customers park?? I don't understand. I will never recommend for anyone to go to this location knowing someone so unprofessional no education will be promoted as a manager. ( which it seems they just hire anyone) She was so bossy I feel bad for all the other employees there. To finish this when I when inside to get my receipt she came and said to the "manager " " well I tried to help her" and gave me a attitude almost like making fun of me. Do not rent from Enterprise! Consider yourself warned! Like many of the other reviewers, I rented a vehicle from this place only because my insurance company (AAA) has a contract with them. My own car was in for collision damage repair for about 4 days, so AAA got me their rate through their rental car reimbursement coverage. I reserved a mid-size vehicle, and when I went to pick it up, they didn't have one. They ended up downgraded me to some POS Nissan Versa, which still had to wait 20 minutes for because it hadn't been washed. I didn't know it at the time, but this vehicle kept nagging me about overdue maintenance and a dying key fob battery the entire time I was using it. So, let's just say it was not a very well-kept vehicle. Still, I didn't detect any damage to the vehicle, so I signed off as having no damage during the initial inspection. This turned out to be a bad mistake. I should have taken video of the entire vehicle because I had no idea what kind of scam artists this company is. In the few days I had the vehicle, I used it primarily for driving a kid to school. The entire rental period was uneventful. When I returned the vehicle, the attendant pointed out a missing piece of trim underneath the driver-side mirror. This is not something I would have even noticed missing, so I obviously didn't mark it down during the initial inspection. This is not a piece of trim that could be knocked off without causing damage to the mirror, which obviously was not there before or after I returned it. The attendant even noted that it "fell off" rather than broken off. I asked the attendant if he could check if this was a piece that was reported to be missing on a prior rental, and he didn't give me a straight answer. He tried to get me to sign some kind of acknowledgement of the "change in condition", but said I could opt-out, which I did. A few days later, I received email from their "Damage Recover Unit" urging me to a file a claim with my insurance company or credit card company so they can make a collection for this so-called "damage". The moral of this story is: always take a video of the vehicle during inspection no matter how pristine the vehicle looks, and never, ever rent from Enterprise or its sister companies, Alamo and National. my insurance uses enterprise for rentals and even though it was an unfortunate situation that brought me here to get a rental Alan and Elena were so helpful, understanding and just warm, cheery people. I don't want to sound too cheesy but it honestly felt like friends helping me get a rental car for the next week or so until my car gets fixed. Alan helped me on the phone and when i arrived, super nice and also knows his stuff...as does Elena who showed me my vehicle options...yes, i had options which is always a plus! She not only made the process so quick and easy, but explained additional steps and processes should the other driver take liability (as he said he would) so that I can have the vehicle i need and save as much as i can with my own out of pocket expenses. **Bad Experience at Enterprise** I rented a mid-size car from Hayward Enterprise, paid for by my insurance while my car was being repaired. The agent initially tried to upsell me to a full-size car for an extra $100 per day. When I declined, she claimed they didn't have any mid-size cars and offered only a Chevy Spark, much smaller than I needed. The car supposedly had a full tank, but it was half empty. My insurance later confirmed they covered a mid-size car, and after they intervened, I had to return to swap the Spark for a Toyota Corolla. Not good customer service at all . read more

I had to come and do another review as my experience has been different every time that I have had to use this location. I have to say that this time, is by far the best experience I have had. This rental was an insurance rental...and the first car I got was a jeep, but apparently had issues with the tire and the tire sensor, slow leak possibly? Returned the car and was given a brand new Toyota Highlander, had 25 miles on it...fully loaded with all the bells and whistles including a wireless phone charger! Very impressed with the vehicle and was treated well by the staff. So I had to make sure that I came and gave them a much deserved review, as that has not always been the case at this location. I don't even know where to start. My car was stolen last year and I spent thousands of dollars dealing with insurance and once I used the car rental from the insurance and it was up, it took me almost 4 months in finding a new car I rented from enterprise so much I spent thousands of dollars with them and they took my deposit. Didn't want to give it back last year . Going forward to this year My car got hit.I got a car rental for $45 a day. They did not tell me there was a sales tax out of pocket expense of a total of three weeks worth of $131, I don't understand why if I had a whole balance of 1350 to be used for car rental expenses neither does enterprise or my insurance company wants to help me I was promised a security deposit back so if I was going to get my deposit back, wouldn't you think I would not expect it if I was going to be charged a sales tax or whatever taxes they wanna call it? If I would have known the sales tax was going to be taken out of my deposit I would have rather paid it all at once, at least that should be an option. My car was hit and Liberty Mutual is paying for my vehicle and providing a rental car until service is completed. My auto body shop arranged everything and Enterprise provided a pretty surprisingly seamless experience from beginning to end. I was sent a Priority Pass email confirmation and car reservation, and a driver arrived to pick me up on location at exactly the time it was scheduled. On arriving at Enterprise, Tyron and Ayres assisted me quickly and professionally... they did the best that they could with the car selection, I just needed something fully functioning and practical to roll me around for a few weeks on Liberty Mutual's dime. I never actually expect good customer service nowadays and did not expect this experience to be different. The lady at the counter was extremely rude, and then the gentleman that came up to start helping me was not very communicative and left me sitting there for over 20 minutes without telling me anything until I got up and asked him what's going on. Flawless experience. I reserved online about a week ahead of time. Called a couple of days before pickup to confirm my reservation and ask some questions, and the guy on the phone was very helpful and friendly. Arrived first thing Sunday morning. Was 2nd in line and was helped *very* quickly at the desk. Another guy took me out to see the available cars. My only complaint is really just a nitpick - I thought I'd have more than 2 cars to choose from, but it was fine. For a measly $2 extra, I upgraded to the larger car. Signed and drove away. Had a *long* drive to SoCal, and the car drove great. Dropped it off after hours. They called the next day to confirm the total charge which was exactly what the estimate said. I was around 2 or 3 gallons short on the gas fill-up, but I guess it wasn't enough for them to bother charging me for the gas. Everything went better than expected! read more

My insurance company arranged for me to have a rental car for 30 days while my car was being repaired following an accident. When I returned the car, I learned that I owed Enterprise an additional $300 because they had given me a (Toyota RAV4) which they classified as a larger vehicle which was $10 per day more than the standard car. They did NOT tell me this when I picked up the car. They basically just said, "Here, your rental car is ready". I would've waited for a smaller car which I would have preferred anyway if I had known.
