Renting a car can be daunting, but I truly had the easiest and best experience ever. I hate that I can't remember the gentleman's name who helped me, but he was awesome. Usually, it takes forever to check in, get your car, and go, but I was in and out in 20 minutes. After getting into my car, I couldn't figure out how to connect my music to the bluetooth, so I walked back in and found the same gentleman who had helped me before. Don't call customer service, call the local service. Every interaction I have had with the local team has been wonderful. I've rented 5 cars in the last couple months after an accident and they accommodated changes quickly. The cars have been clean, pretty new, and smooth rides. National service in put my rental period in wrong twice so it looked like I kept the car too long, but the local team fixed and fixed it immediately. They even picked me up from house once since they had a full staff. The variety of cars has been nice. From a jeep wrangler to a Hyundai sedan all the way to a Pacifica for the whole family/team, each car was awesome. read more

This is a smaller satellite location for Enterprise. They don't have the hours or car inventory that their bigger locations have, which is the only thing keeping them from the fifth star. Service is great, and friendly. The employees are high energy 20-somethings. Makes me think Enterprise is practicing age discrimination in hiring, but I have to give them props for great service. Like other reviewers have said, Enterprise is my preferred choice for car rental. They will also pick you up and drop you off. My 2014 Entertainment Book (a competitor to the Zoo Book) has Enterprise coupons for 10% off, free upgrades, and free double upgrades, which are good through June 2015. I would suppose that the 2015 Entertainment Book will have Enterprise copuons too. Entertainment Book is available at Kroger grocery stores. Their online reservation system is easy to use. Since this location does not have a huge car inventory, I suggest making an online reservation as soon as possible before you pick up the car. TIP: most states have an "airport tax" applied to car rentals that you pick up at an airport. The law/rule states that it applies to all car rentals in the state that are made within 24 hours of you flying into the state., or into certain airports. So if you pick up your rental car at the airport, this Automatically applies to you. So..... If you can take public transport to your destination outside of the airport-city, -or- wait until the next day for your car, you can save a _significant_ percentage. I did this in Colorado when I flew into Denver, but I took a bus/limo to my destination city. This can be a big deal if you are going to rent for a whole week, and don't have a corporate expense account. read more

I've been renting from this location a few times a year for the last decade. This weekend I made a reservation to go out of town to visit family. Showed up and there was no car. They had my reservation but said that it was not their fault because they didn't have enough time to have a car delivered. (I asked them if they knew what the definition of a "reservation" was). The kicker was, they did have other cars available but they wanted to CHARGE ME EXTRA for an upgrade instead of accepting responsibility for booking a reservation and failing to keep it. I was told to "come back later" and they might have the car that afternoon. They offered no solutions to the problem and took zero responsibility. I rushed over to the Enterprise on 96th st and Lauren, the branch manager, had a car available, matched the price, and had me on the road in ten minutes of arriving. Excellent service! The kids running the 46th store should take a lesson in customer service from Lauren. As a small business owner myself I understand that mistakes happen, but when a mistake is made you should 1) take ownership of it and then 2) go out of your way to help the customer with their need. The 46th store did neither of these. They had been my goto location in town for the last 12 years but I don't think I'll be returning there. read more

My car had been stolen so I came in without a reservation. Everything was already setup in their computers with my insurance company so the transaction went smoothly. This week has been awful, I was involved in a car accident and my car is totaled. On top of having work and appointments I also have doctor appointments, insurance things I need to get taken care of and other miscellaneous things needed to obtain a new car. Instead of being able to take care of my health and daily duties I am spending the ENTIRE day on hold and driving back and forth between your locations because apparently a reservation with a confirmation email means NOTHING when you arrive to pick up the car. It would have been nice for someone to have called me before I arrived at the location to get the car that apparently does not exist. Today has been my first experience with renting a car and it has been horrific. I called my local Enterprise and made a reservation with them to pick up a car at 5:30pm as I was unsure what time I would be able to get a ride there. I received a confirmation email. I found out my ride could bring me sooner so I called the location back and they changed the time to 2pm for me, upon arrival they told me they don't have any cars and their reservation system has been allowing anyone to make a reservation online which was throwing off what they have actually available. They said I could come back at 4pm and they MIGHT have a car. No guarantee that I would even get a car even though I have a reservation and spoke to someone at that store TWICE today. They said there are currently ZERO cars available in the entire state of Indiana when I asked if I could get to a different location to get a car. The two people behind the counter were sympathetic and apologized and suggested I call back later in the evening to see if they have anything available. I get home and call customer service, it takes forever to get through their automated messages and get connected to an actual operator. The operator says that the store my reservation was at has multiple vehicles listed as available and that I'll be fine come my 4pm new pick up time. I asked him to call and verify and low and behold they told him that they have nothing available. Great. He says I can drive thirty minutes away and get a vehicle but I asked him to call that store and verify there is one physically there, while on hold the call got disconnected. Lovely. I finally get back through the automated messages and the wait to speak to an operator and was on hold for about twenty minutes while he called nearby stores. He finally located one five miles and said the car is currently at their location and will be available in two hours for pick up. So I'm scrambling to find a ride there and praying that it will actually be there. For a company that boast excellent customer service I'm extremely disappointed with the way that everything today was handled. read more

Rented a small Nissan pickup truck for 2 days and was not too happy, here is why. The good, Enterprise does rent out pickups and I did have a really good representative. Here is the bad. First, I was made to buy Enterprises full coverage while in the past Visa would be fine to cover for the car rented, I only have liability for my car .... Second, the small Nissan truck is one of the worst pickups I've ever used, just a really bad car. It's uncomfortable and very basic. I opted for the smaller truck to get better gas mileage but to my surprise it was worse then the bigger option Enterprise is offering the Dodge Ram. I will never rent from this location again. I usually go to a different location but they did not have the vehicle I needed available and they recommended this location. NEVER AGAIN!!! The rate I was quoted was not correct and the discount I was told was not given. I am fighting with them to resolve. In the last year, I have traveled to visit my daughter in college 2-3 times per month and rent from Enterprise every time. I have never rented a car until recently when my car was involved in a hit and run over night. When I picked up the rental, the woman did a walk around to see that the car I was going to be given had a giant crack in the bumper. She stated, "if these cars belonged to these people, they wouldn't treat them this way." I had the car for about a month while mine was being repaired. Upon returning it, I was charged over 100 dollars for a cost that was supposed to be billed to the dealership because they did not read the notes from the insurance adjuster. I also then received a call inquiring why the damage had happened to the car. I explained that it was there when I picked up the car. It was confirmed that was true, and that I was fine. Even after this, I received a claim filed against me for $800. I was reassured that this would be taken care of, but it took me over 2 months (after phone calls, visits, and working with my insurance) to have this claim removed since it was filed in error. This situation caused a lot of unnecessary anxiety and frustration for me that would be completely avoided had the branches communicated better and read their notes. read more

Keep in mind I made a weekly reservation for a small SUV back in November for under $200 with unlimited miles. Today I go into this location modified said reservation for the weekend instead... After the nosy representatives kept asking where I was going...Im thinking None your business and why...but after the 3rd person asked now Im saying anything. They bring the vehicle around and hand over the keys I notice its very dirty, inside and out so he decides to run it thru the wash at the last minute. Now its snow and freezing out but there are literally soap suds all over it...when I mention this to the rep he chuckle and reply it will be covered in salt shortly. What! Suddenly, I get a text from my credit card alert about a $367 purchase...Im trying to figure out how a weekly rental under $200 turn into a $108 weekend rental, now become $367 and no one bothered to discuss the charges with me! This is my MAJOR credit card not a debit card. I asked said nosy rep and he keep repeating Its just an authorization...And they charge a $200 deposit...wait what!? Thats $367 of my money that I cannot use and the policy didn't mention that! He try to comfort me by saying he has worked for umpteen years with Enterprise and this is standard...1st, I dont care how long you work for Enterprise tell me when this policy took affect. 2nd where are my discounts for being a so called Plus member since 2010. I use enterprise often, this is the FIRST and LAST at this location, BUT, NEVER I MEAN NEVER have I paid a $200 deposit and was required to purchase insurance thru them. I felt disrespected. My daugter is on her way back to college tomorrow, my car is being repaired but we got things to do and people to see..I felt violated. I guess Plus member dont mean shit. You dont receive special treatment. Now Im wondering are they thinking I might steal or destroy the vehicle why Im being charged this outrageous rental charge....my daughter is counting on me so I decided to roll with it.. To add insult to injury the gas was less than a 1/4 tank. Not on full and the rep state I must be familiar with the airport service where the vehicles are always full. Well yes! We not required to do that he says. Im looking at him side ways now. So Now I got to get out in the cold to pump gas! Foolishness....Big Fail! I would not recommend renting a car from Enterprise! I had to rent a car while my car was being repaired, so I went to the Enterprise location at 46th and Keystone in Indianapolis. The place was swamped with customers so I had to wait for about 20 minutes just to talk to someone. Got a car, a nice young man named Jamal went over everything I signed the agreement and on my way. I find after about at day the trunk does not open and is jammed. The display on the car is constantly saying it needs oil changed, needs air in tires. Find out a rear tire has a slow leak. I'm worried about a flat tire and can't get through on the phone to Enterprise, phone rings and rings no answer. Trunk won't open if I do get a flat tire to access the spare. Go out to the car one morning and the tire is so low I'm afraid to drive it. My neighbor who is a mechanic at a local Chevy dealer, comes over to help me open the trunk (its a Chevy Malibu) and change the tire. He pops the trunk after about 15 minutes and we find there is no spare in the car. He brings his air compressor over and we fill it enough to get it back to Enterprise. Then the real trouble begins. I get a representative that was probably one of the worst people I have ever experienced. I spoke to a manager the day before (he was a great guy) and he told me to bring the car in and he would make things better, but unfortunately he was busy and could not help me, so I got some other guy who was horrible and sadly, I was so furious when I was there I did get his name. First I had to settle up for the previous week and Horrible Guy tells me that it is going to be $200 more than I was quoted. I explained that I had a lower price and he reprimands me for trying to cheat Enterprise out of money. We go back and forth about the price and he finally concedes after we had some very heated words. I pay up and Horrible Guy grabs some keys tells me to follow him outside, he grabs an umbrella (while I was arguing with him inside a terrible storm stars up outside and it is pouring down rain), doesn't offer me one and goes out to a car in the lot. I run out and he says here is your car. Hands me the keys without telling me anything about the car, checking the gas level or recording it, nothing. I got in the car because the rain has turned into a deluge and start to drive away. The car is filthy: stains on the seats, inside has not been swept out and the car reeks of smoke, but I am so irritated I just drove off. I immediately had to get gas because the tank was in the red mark. I had to get help from another customer at the gas station to figure out how open the gas tank door because I was not told where the release was located in the car. I filled the car up, swept it out and put a towel over the disgusting stains on the driver and passengers seats. I used the car for three more days, took it back and lodged my complaint with the staff in the office. They were empathetic, but explained that there really wasn't anything they could do to help me. Bottom line is think before you use this place. They are understaffed and swamped with customers. Horrible Guy was able to get away with being a jerk because the rest of the staff were just too busy to catch on to what he was doing. I will never rent another car from this company! The price is too high and the customer service is horrible. read more

However, I asked to rent a compact car and because the inventory is so small at this location, I was stuck with a minivan. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and I definitely appreciated them being open on a Sunday, which I found out is hard to find with Enterprise locations. PICK UP SERVICE IS A JOKE Reserved a car and a pick up from greenwood branch who said I was too far to pick up understandably (30 miles away) but never showed up or bothered to call. Greenwood transferred reservation to a closer branch - 46th & Keystone (5 miles away) who informed me I was too far (5 miles away), who called the Lafayette Rd branch (4.8 miles away) who had no cars available, who called the Speedway branch. Very disappointed with the 46th & Keystone branch. Had reservation for late evening pick up rental Friday before Easter. Was told two utility bills were needed to rent with debit card. Never had that happen before. Enterprise had no one available to take my husband home to get necessary documents. They could not transfer my reservation or set up a new reservation elsewhere. Staff was disrespectful and uncooperative. Left very disappointed and almost missed brother's wedding. Thank God for Avis. Sent email to area manager and received no response. Overall, an excellent place to rent a car. Every once in a while they are too busy to pick me up when I need it, or they have too few cars to choose from, or a car has a problem. But after decades of renting cars from all the major car rental companies I would rate my experiences with Enterprise as the best overall. read more
