    Dirt, Sand, and probably other stuff.

    Car was not cleaned well at all, things that look to be scratches, white spots, dirt and sand all under the seats. I've bought from enterprise many times and have never had a more disgusting car. Over all the car was nice and I could fit many people in it. It was really good for my road trip but It was sad how poor of service this car had on it.

One representative at (800) 214-6094 claimed our receipt showed only 5 gallons, implying the tank wasn't full I completely ignoring the fact that adding 5 gallons can just as easily mean the tank was already nearly full and simply topped off. The second representative takes the prize, this dude, Ray Collins (Ref #110) at (800) 259-6095, who admitted there was an error. He said I need to pay $61 just to process the claim. Paying a fee to correct the company's own mistake is unacceptable and makes no sense. At that point, it was clear customer service was not interested in resolving the issue. Thankfully, Jamil from the local station later called, refunded the refueling fee, and apologized. That effort was genuinely appreciated and was the only professional part of this experience. Overall, the process was frustrating and unprofessional. This situation raises serious concerns about the company's practices and accountability. Formal complaints to the FTC, BBB, and state consumer services are being filed, because this should not be considered standard business practice.

I can say that this team stood out from other Hertz experiences that we have had in several locations thus far. Steve made us feel like we were in good hands with how he handled our rental. We had excellent communication via phone prior to pick up and that connection continued throughout our interaction in the office and the demonstration/ explanation of the awesome features of our rental. I was very impressed. I hope that we will be able to work together again with this team. The genuine personal attention from Steve and crew ( Devin ) made us feel blessed to have everything handled beyond our expectations. The evening before my trip, I received a call letting me know they didn't have a compact available. No problem, they offered me a slightly larger sedan instead. Great, right? Wrong. They informed me that if I wanted the larger vehicle, I would have to pay for an upgrade. I've rented a lot of cars over the years, and never once have I been charged extra when the rental company couldn't provide the vehicle I reserved. When I questioned it, I was told there was nothing they could do and that I needed to call corporate myself to find another vehicle. Mind you, I'm supposed to leave at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow and now I have no car. In past situations like this, rental companies have either honored the original rate for the larger vehicle or checked nearby locations to find the reserved car. Neither was offered. Instead, I was told, "We close at 5:00, it's now 5:09, so that's it." So here I seat, on hold with corporate, trying to fix a problem I didn't create. Customer service seems to have become a lost art. A reservation should mean something, and when a company can't fulfill its commitment, the burden shouldn't fall on the customer to solve it. SMH.

When we…read morearrived at the Alamo counter inside the airport on an ordinary Thursday around 2:45pm, there was no line. Crystal checked us in. She was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The staff inside the parking deck was polite too. They kept things short and sweet so we could get on our way. Dropping the rental off at the airport was also quick. Par for the course in my experience at various airports and rental car companies/brands (e.g. Alamo, National) in recent years. We booked our rental through Costco Travel. Pick-up on Thursday 2:30pm and drop-off on Sunday 3:30pm. The 3-day "intermediate" car reservation ended up costing $164.63 after taxes and fees. This worked out to $54.88 per day. Not bad. Our final invoice included a 7% discount because we booked through Costco. For Alamo refueling options, at the time of our check-in, the prepay rate was $3.14 per gallon. If Alamo refilled, it was $5.00 per gallon. I filled up at the Marathon on Airport Rd, close to the airport on the way back, for $3.59 per gallon. In hindsight, in this instance, I could've saved a little bit of money if we chose the prepay option. $0.45 per gallon in savings * 3.602 gallons = a whopping $1.62 in savings. If you're headed back to the airport and chose to self-fill, there are several gas stations just off I-95 exit 363B. They include the aforementioned Marathon (https://www.yelp.com/biz/marathon-jacksonville-3) as well as BP, Exxon, and Amoco. It's hard to miss them, shortly after getting off the interstate. We had a 2023 Nissan Kicks. I never even heard of the Kicks model until we physically walked up to and inspected the car. It was a fun little SUV that suited our purposes -- mainly doing small trips in Ponte Vedra Beach. I ended up driving 106 miles, so 106 miles/3.602 gallons = 29.43 miles per gallon. I think that's pretty good for as much short-distance "city" driving as I did. The car was clean and comfy, provided a smooth and safe ride, and had great Bluetooth audio quality. I had my phone connected and playing music automatically every time I turned on the car (keyless ignition). We had recently experienced renting a car through Alamo at Oakland International Airport, also booked via Costco Travel, two months prior. Overall, we had a better experience with Alamo in Jacksonville than we did with Alamo in Oakland. I'm just comparing them here since the two bookings were both with Alamo and not too far apart datewise.

I will never come back to this location again, and if I could give them zero stars, I would. I reserved a Toyota not a Hyundai. I called customer service on December 19th 8 days later just to be told a refund was never processed and was given a case#. I called again on December 23rd and was told it would be 5-7 more business days!!! Basically they dropped the ball and kept lying to me never taking accountability. The reps I spoke to were rude and kept interrupting me when I spoke. These people really didn't care about customer satisfaction. I was told there was nothing more they could do for me l would just have to wait for my refund. I will NEVER use Avis again and I advise everyone to never use them as well. As of today December 26th I still have NOT received my refund. You've been warned

    AVOID THIS STORE!!! I called this store before my trip to Jacksonville, Fl to find out if I could…read moredrop the car in Fernandina Beach after picking it up from the airport; I am getting a UHaul to go back to NJ so I only needed the rental for 3 days before the UHaul. I called twice and talked to 2 different men. Each one said that it would be no problem; simply to drop off the car to this store when the rental was over. When I got to the airport and told them that I was going to drop the car in Fernandina Beach, they told me that I could not do this, that I would have to bring it back to the airport (40 minutes away and 40 minutes back to Fernandina Beach, now with no car to get back). The people at the Hertz counter could not help me so I called Hertz and was told that there would be a $180.00 fee if I wanted to drop the car at the store in Fernandina Beach. The entire rental was $180.00!! This morning I called the store (they are closed on Sundays) and spoke to a woman. I explained the situation to her, and she said that she would have to charge the same $180.00 fee that Hertz told me I would have to pay if I wanted to return the car to them instead of the airport. I told the woman about the 2 men in her office that gave me this wrong info, She told me that they should not have told me this. I asked for some kind of help - to cover the Uber I will have to take back from the airport or maybe a ride back from the airport. She was unwilling to do anything to help me. So - I could have gotten any rental at less than half the price of Hertz at the airport if I had known that I would have to drop it back there instead of Fernandina Beach. I only paid more and used Hertz for the convenience of being able to drop it at the store, which turns out to be a lie or misinformation by 2 separate workers at this store who didn't know what they were doing and caused me to pay more for the rental and now more time and money for an Uber back from the airport. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ AND ESPECIALLY DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS STORE. INCOMPETENT WORKERS WITH NO COURTESY OR OFFER OF ASSISTANCE, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR FAULT.
