Reserved a cargo van over a month ago from Budget at 6945 Baymeadows in Jacksonville for our move to Michigan, mainly for our personal stuff we didn't want on a moving truck. Even called to confirm my reservation, to which I was told they have. Arrived there today at my given time, and they tell me they have no cargo vans at all. So here we are with movers coming tomorrow and now no cargo van because they are too incompetent. I would never recommend them to ANYONE, and will NEVER inquire again EVER to rent from Budget. They shouldn't even be in the business of rentals. Ridiculous "company" They get 1 star but they don't even deserve that!!! read more

I just received a call now, less than 24 hours before I'm supposed to move, notifying me that they do not have any trucks available to fulfill my reservation tomorrow morning. They offered no solutions and when I asked what should I do they said call the Orange Park location to see if they have any available trucks. we rented a car from the Jacksonville Airport. it hadn't been cleaned from the previous renter. we were late to a meeting so decided we would clean it ourselves. the Check engine light came on. we called customer service. we attempted 2 locations to exchange the car. no cars at these locations that we were sent to. it's day 2 and they will do nothing for us except asked us to drive 2 hours back to the airport & exchange it. I have never experienced such poor customer service at every turn. the agents at the locations weren't to blame. They said their hands are tied. we will never rent from Avis/Budget again. we just want them to exchange a vehicle that has an engine light on. Unbelievable. read more

What is the point of a "RESERVATION" if they call you last minute and cancel on you?!?!!! We hired movers who are coming in the morning and now we have NO TRUCK!!! I would do "zero stars" if it would let me. Writing review for my daughter, who would be doing it but is not behind schedule traveling for business. Facts- 1) Scheduled and prepaid for a car rental. 2) arrived to take possession and finish paperwork. Her corporate card was flagged and it declined. So she called her credit card company to approve the charge. 3) asked "Jalene" or something similar to that name and she said nope...our policy is we can only try 2x. 3) She then said that she had to go to another budget to get her car. At which point that 2nd location said they can't rent her a car because she already has a prepaid reservation and to go back to the original. 4) Called the original location and told her what was said and she doubled down and said "no". 5) She called Corporate office and they told her to go back to the original location and try again. At that point she just asked for a refund. Final Note- don't waste your time. Rude and couldn't care less about customer service. She was able to call Enterprise and get a car effortlessly. We will be cancelling corporate partnership with Budget and so should you! read more

I don't really know where to start with how miserable my experience has been with this company. I reserved a moving truck and when we arrived they said they don't know why corporate reserves trucks when they don't have any available. The front desk person said we don't have any trucks for you. I saw your reservation last night. I said why didn't you call me. I traveled for 6 hours this morning on a Sunday for one day to get my things and go back to Colorado. She did not seem to care about my situation. She continued to blame corporate. The parking lot had three moving trucks. I explained my desperate situation and she said "let me see what I can do" after twenty minutes she returned and said you're in luck a truck just came in it may leak and the tire is not in the best shape but it should get you to Jacksonville. The truck was not the size we wanted so I had the added expense of gas. We drove from Pensacola to Jacksonville during a rain storm and the wipers did not work. The inside was filthy and it smelled like cigarettes. When I returned the truck in Jacksonville after filling the tank to capacity the person there handed me the keys and said " it's not full" I explained that I put $54.00 in the tank and it would not take anymore gas. She said it's not full. She grabbed her purse took the keys and drove off in the moving truck and said she will be right back. After 15 minutes she returned and said she put $10.00 more dollars in and charged me the $30.00 full fee. I called the corporate office and they did reimburse me $30.00 for the gas saying that this happens all the time.They told me they would compensate me for my troubles by reimbursing me the cost of the rental. When I called them back they denied saying this and reimbursed me $60.00. They don't keep promises and they reserve trucks that they don't have and if they do they are unsafe. I had the best experience with Budget regarding renting a moving truck. I scheduled a truck two days before needing it. Reserving online was easy enough, no issues. I walked in right at 8 when they opened and the gentleman behind the counter was very nice and polite, explained everything I needed to know. Then a wonderful lady took me outside and showed me the truck and did a overall inspection with me before I left. The whole process was 15 minutes maybe, from the time I walked in to the time I was pulling out. The truck was in great condition, ran wonderful, everything worked from heat/ac to the radio and wipers. I was running a bit behind on time and was not able to get back before they closed but I called to inform them and the gentleman on the phone said no issues, again they were very nice and polite. He just asked me to park it out of the driveway area so I would not block anyone and drop keys in the box. My experience was 10 stars all around, from the customer service, to the equipment itself. If I need a moving truck this is the location I will be going to again. Recommend 100%!! read more

My flight got cancelled and I went to rent a can and made a reservatio. when I got there they said I couldn't get the agreed spin vehicle in my reservation and if I wanted a car I had to pay an extra $200, AFTER I made a reservation. Worst experience renting a car ever. I've never made a reservation at a place and had them simply tell me they wouldn't honor the reservation price. Horrible company - Reserved a 26' truck a month in advance through Costco website and received multiple email reminders of my upcoming rental reservation. 15 minutes before i am due to pick up I am called and told no truck is available! SERIOUSLY ?? Car had difficulty starting at near by hotel i was staying at, requested service which never arrived. This company is very unreliable,We reserved a 12 passenger van for an event 6 weeks early and prepaid for the van to insure we would have it. One hour before we were to pick it up, we received a call saying not only was it unavailable but to get a refund we must call the parent company (Budget) customer service for a refund. All around, a very poor business policy. When called, they refunded our money but offered no compensation for our BIG inconvenience!! They have lost us as a customer in the future! read more

I originally was going to book my truck for moving online but someone suggested I call the 1-800number customer service. I was able to get more than $200 marked off the original online price and the service at the actual budget location was so personable and helpful. I did a cross country move and I wanted to make sure everything was ready to go and the service I received helped me feel at ease and safe driving a big ole truck for my move. read more

I will never use Budget for my moving needs ever again. I will stick with U-Haul. Their tire blew and stranded us in Kentucky for 8 hours on Sunday during our out of state move from Michigan to Florida. We had to have the truck back by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. They told us the people to fix the tire would be there in 1.5 hours, They did not show up for 5 hours!!! Then it took them 2 hours to fix the tire, but they also needed to fix the rim, which took another .5 hour to go get the rim. 8 hours!!! Needless to say, we were late dropping off the truck. They charged us for dropping off the truck late and dropping it off at night! U-Haul allows for night time drop off without the extra charge. Because of the poor equipment that Budget gave us, they made extra money off us. Very unethical. When I mentioned it to the guy at Phillips Hwy where we dropped it off, he said I had to call the office in Michigan so I could get the savings for an extra day. All the red tape I had to go through because of their issue. Our family shouldn't have had to go through all that trouble of a blown tire, sitting in a truck stop, trying to unpack a truck on a work day (because we lost a full day off on Monday due to being delayed in Kentucky) just so we get it back before they charged us any more money. Our kids were tired and stressed. We were tired and stressed. Everybody had to be back to school and work on Tuesday and we were supposed to unpack on Monday, which we lost due to the delay. That was the most stressful, overwhelming, and exhausting experience of my life and I don't ever want to be at the mercy of Budget ever again. read more

We booked (and paid for) a minivan almost two weeks in advance, only to arrive the morning of our reservation and be told that there were no vans, SUVs, nothing available. We received no phone call and only minimal customer service. When we asked why we didn't receive a phone call, the manager just complained that he wasn't given enough people, and he was "swamped." Four people took the day off work and paid for a rental to sit in a parking lot for an hour looking for a rental. Advantage came through for us. Budget did not. The Budget Team on Philips Hwy are Amazing. Very supportive and great communicators. Have rented 3 trucks and 8 cars during 2018 and will never go anywhere else. Always a smile on their face in all situations and I have witnessed people walking in with NO reservation and blew a gasket when they can't get a car. The hurricane took most of the cars from this region for quite a long time and Tiffany and Any still had a positive attitude when dealing with the customers when I was there. Do not use this place. They overbook and will not honor your confirmation. I booked a truck to pick up on a Saturday for a long distance move , had a confirmation number, called the day before and was assured my truck would be ready. I flew in the Saturday morning and when i arrived at the location i was told - sorry, we overbooked and won't have any trucks until Monday. This was a long distance move!! i ended up having to drive to St. Augustine to pick up a truck which was much bigger than needed which of course used more gas, etc. with no compensation. This was a terrible experience. Note that other people came in while i was there with confirmation numbers only to be told that they had no trucks! i could have booked with another company if they were not going to be able to have something. This is a horrible way to do business. read more
