Before this recent experience, I liked Enterprise Rent-A-Car, particularly for the pickups and drop-offs, and am truly appalled at what I experienced with this last rental. My most recent need to rent a car was because my car unexpectedly died. I rented a car from this Enterprise location for 3 days. The pickup was smooth, and the lady (can't remember her name) who checked me in was good to work with, similar to my previous experiences with Enterprise. However, that would be the end of the good experience. When I went to drop off the car 3 days later and asked for a ride to an auto dealership to pick up my newly leased car, Jannic told me to drive over to the dealership and they would pick it up from there, as they were too busy to give me a ride then. This was Monday, May 4. Later that same week, when I saw that my credit card was being charged more than the 3-day rental, I called that Enterprise office and got Jannic again. He said he'd call the dealership to locate the car, so that they could close out the contract. Even put me on hold to supposedly take care of that. Then, on May 14, I got an email from Enterprise asking me to confirm whether I'd be returning the car on May 15, along with over $1,000 in charges! So, I drove over to the Laguna Hills Enterprise office to attempt at settling this once and for all, as apparently calling would lead to no resolution with mounting credit card charges. What did I get? Jannic told me that he texted the dealership with no response. He called, and there was no response. He said the person with whom I left the keys didn't work there. And he insisted that he couldn't close out the contract unless he could locate the car. Yet, other than supposedly calling or texting, he wasn't going to do anything else to locate the car that he told me to drop off at the dealership! I would never have done that otherwise in a million years! Since it was clear that it'd be up to me to locate the car if I don't want to be responsible for paying for it, I drove to the dealership. Lo and behold, the car keys were there, the employee with whom I dropped off the rental keys on the day I picked up my leased car indeed works there! Right at the dealership, I called Enterprise again and got routed to an assistant manager, who apologized for the miscommunication that caused me to have to spend my time driving to the Enterprise rental office and then to the car dealership. By the way, that also costs me mileage on a leased vehicle. She promised to reverse charges for the additional days of rental and to reduce the rental charges for the 3 days I had the car to compensate for my unnecessarily horrible experience that was due to their communication failure, not any fault on my part. She said she'd call me before the end of the day. That was May 14. Guess what? It's now end of day May 15, there was no call, and the credit card charges have not been reversed! I'm left with no other choice but to spend more time and energy disputing these bogus charges through my credit card company. How does a business operate like this? Staff are very rude, car options they give you are very old cars that barely run, and they charge you high rates for terrible service. I am updating my review. I had a response to my review from Enterprise. They told me to contact a website to talk to someone about my experience. I did this 6 times. I was told by a representative that the regional manager would be contacting me. This never happened. The last time I tried to contact the website to ask why no one reached out I was told that they probably would not contact me. They apparently dont care. The response on yelp is not real. They actually do not have any customer service person that talks to you or cares. I will absolutely never use Enterprise again and I will always suggest people use a different company for car rentals. read more

I can't drive due to my bad eyes and health issues and my mom had to rent a car on Monday night 2/11/25 due to the fact that her car is not working that well and I had an Dr appointment up at USC the next morning. They were so accommodating and gracious. The Enterprise in Laguna Beach only had mini vans which is too big for my mom to drive. However this location had a Toyota Camry that was the perfect size. It was raining when we went to pick it up and they let me be able to stay in the car while my mom did the front work. While bringing it back the next day in the rain Ethan could not have been more helpful, kind, and made sure our car wasn't parked to far away seeing again how it was cold and raining. Ethan made the transition an easy one especially with so much going on. He should get recognized for his attention to what the clients needs are and how to meet them which he did in Everest. I rented a car from Enterprise (2441 Ridge Route Drive, Laguna Hills) after dropping my car for repairs. I personally loaded my Pickel Ball bag into the SUV where Enterprise picked me up at the repair shop. Both Pickleball paddles were intact as I could see the two handles in the bag sticking out. Back at Enterprise I received a car and drove directly home after being helped by another man ( behind the counter) who helped me load my things into the rental car. I was just coming back from a trip so I had a suitcase, a garment bag, and a few other bags. When I returned home the pickle ball paddle I had just used an hour before to play pickle ball was not in my bag! I had seen it just less than an hour before that and I knew it had to be at Enterprise. I went back to the car repair place just to make sure it wasn't there even though I saw it when I loaded it and then I saw the young man that help me load the rental car up just before I drove off. We chatted a little bit, and he told me he played pickle ball too. I then followed him back to Enterprise where I met Michele in the parking lot and I inquired to her about my pickle ball paddle and she would not allow me to look in that SUV or anywhere and she raised her voice and got very rude toward me! My Pickleball paddle went missing at Enterprise and it was one that I had borrowed for a week from a friend to try out to see if I liked it. I now have to purchase $160 paddle for my friend! This is the most unprofessional Enterprise car rental, and I do not recommend this to anyone and certainly do not allow them to touch your belongings! Hertz nearby gave me an SUV, a much better car for less than a dollar more a day and the gas tank actually was full unlike Enterprises where he told me it was slightly under full and it was actually 3/4 of a tank. read more

Offered a choice of 2 cars to the customer that walked in after I was already in there 5 minutes and then told me the only car he had was an upgrade that was 85$ more even though I had a reservation number. I told him to his face he was dishonest and he said he wouldn't rent to me just so he wouldn't get bad reviews. With his MO he would seem to be a "bad review a minute for his employer guy." Lol. Manager Sarah is a poor excuse of a person in management. Defended the guy Ali without first reviewing her security video to see what really transpired. She also said they had no vehicles available just so she wouldn't get a bad review if I got a call survey which I constantly do get from enterprise. I had to do a follow up- i had posted how disappointing my experience was at The Enterprise car rental in my town was- I was contacted by business (?) to see exactly what happened , I told my same story again I had a family trip planned had reservation and I was called the day before to say there were no cars due to Southwest cancelling holiday flights so they gave my car I reserved away - (the day before to cx my hotel and tell my 80 year old dad who had already made the drive that we weren't coming because Enterprise gave away our car we reserved ) and the reply from the business was "this is under normal business practices" ha ha ha - maybe for you sir - lesson is; so the more you know .. there are other options than this place I'm just saying read more

If I could give a ZERO to this location, I absolutely would. We have friends from out of town who were visiting & reserved a car. We went to Mission Viejo location, arriving around 1pm, and were told we were at the wrong location. Ok, that's fine. So we head to Ridge Route, arriving around 1:28pm. Gave our res name, and he says (very gruffly I might add), "Your reservation was at 12 noon--you're late; we don't have any cars." I explained I went to the other location, and I said, "Really? Just an hour late?" (I have never ever had a rental taken away for just an hour late.) I asked if he called before giving away the car, and he says he did. I asked him what number; he says "the number on the reservation," but would not confirm the phone # with me (since it was likely my husband's cell & he's been on conf calls most of the morning). I said, "Well, that's kind of rude for just an hour." And he says, "Well, it's rude of you to show up late!" He made my guests feel like crap. And by the way, they are Middle-Eastern Americans so I was halfway wondering if he was going by appearances. I hate to even think that there might be prejudice involved, but it does cross your mind when someone reacts so strongly. He had no offer of apology, no explanation...just a brash reply. My point is, he could have shown some customer service tact and understanding, instead of making his testosterone-laden, brutish, crude and disrespectful response. I get it, you're stressed, and the public is hard to work with sometimes -- but we came in very nicely and politely, not ready at all for what felt like an ambush! So allow me to offer an example of a customer-oriented reply from someone who has had years of working with the public. In case you, your supervisor, or your colleagues are reading this. Try something like this: " I understand that you're upset. But because of the covid crisis, we cannot hold onto cars past a certain time, and it says that in the agreement." [if indeed it does] "Let me check if other locations have a vehicle for you." See dude!? It's not that hard to show a little respect to a customer who is probably going to spend a couple hundred bucks. You don't know who you're serving, or that we have a history of using Enterprise with positive customer service. I really am stunned by the manner in which we were addressed. This review is written based on the EXCEPTIONAL service that was provided by Maddie at the Laguna Hills location on 5.26. Our Chevy Suburban broke down on a road trip from LA to San Diego. We were able to coast into a nearby Carmax where we bought the car, and they were zero help though we have the extended warranty from them. They recommended I call Enterprise and handle things myself. Our SUV was packed full with supplies, and our 3 little girls, car seats, suitcases, food for 5 days, etc. We were totally stressed and lost and Maddie saved the day. I called her in a panic convinced we'd never be able to find a car big enough to transport all out or belongings the rest of the way. She heard the concern in my voice, and immediately said she had a perfect car and would be there in 10 minutes. She promptly arrived, signed us in to the rental, and even helped us transfer our belongings. I was very impressed with her professionalism, kindness, and ability to handle a stressful situation in a timely manner. It was my first time renting a car so I was a bit apprehensive about the process. But Enterprise's online scheduling platform made the process of renting a car for 7 days less intimidating. More importantly, the staff at this Ridge Route location who assisted my party (Rob at checkout and Chris at check in) were very helpful and attentive. Special shout out to Rob who was extra patient with our questions on how to use the car (our first time with keyless cars) despite the fact that he was at the end of his shift! Helpful people working here. Enterprise has consistently offered good service, reasonable rates and quality customer services. The past times I've had to use their service (someone ran a red and hit our car), they have been professional. No overcharging. A clear explanation of pricing. I rented the car for a very long time because the body shop working on my car kept finding more and more wrong with our car. The car stayed at their shop for months. The rental car I used was a Chevy and one cool thing about it was that the music stayed on even when I opened the car door. The Chevy was white colored. I didn't use their gas or insurance services to go with their rental car and they were fine with my choice. Car was clean and in good condition. No problems with my credit card or with insurance. The staff here is not helpful and really misleading. Called to inquire about what small economy cars they have to rent through insurance and some man with a thick accent answered and assured they have what car I desired. Get there to this small plaza, only to be shown cars that are economy BUT they were vans or suvs. Then in order to upsell me, if I wanted a small car it would be a luxury car. I highly recommend using this location for your car rental needs. Although Jason the manager was working by himself he was very efficient and had the best attitude while working under pressure.. He knew his system which is helpful to expedite the procedure and he was able to get me in and out very quickly even when i presented last minute requests to pick me up and drop me off at the mechanic shop. Everything seemed to go well At first. Reserved my suv signed and put down the required $833.00 then came back a short time later to let them know i needed to cancel because my daughter had to delay her visit Due to her flight being delayed The next day we picked her up So I went to reserve at another enterprise in Capistrano Beach which had a larger vehicle for rent Taking my daughter there as an additional driver she was denied because the just expired license couldn't be accepted nor the picture of her current one that she Left behind in Portland. That's Not my purpose for the negative reviews. I posting this 72+ since I canceled my reservations and they won't clear the pending order on my Discover card. They told me it was my card holder was at fault! Not true! They "Enterprise need to release the pending order. So Between the 2 branches my card is being held up for a total over $1663.00! I am handicapped and needed transportation for work and doctors' appointments. I arranged a ride to Enterprise, only for them to leave me stranded with no options even though I had a reservation. Service people were excellent here. They were so friendly, fast, and responsive to my questions. They had their reception desk set up just outside their store for covid measures. Today, I rented a car for only 1 hour. Drove from OC to LA, Enterprise to Enterprise. Paid a low $26.95 + $25 drop off fee + 2 gallons @ $3.75 gallon + taxes. I like this location much better than Fabricante and very helpful staff. Nick has personality plus and is full of information. Recommended near by "Service King" as a 5 star repair shop with 2 day turn around and great customer service. I'll give them a try. Sara took my initial call and was also very helpful. read more

I have never been so disappointed in a service like I have today. Had an appointment to pick up a car at 10am. Sat there for an hour waiting, along with others, only to be told about some recall Nissan is doing which has impacted their inventory. In addition I was told there were several cars not returned, which I find hard to believe. I told them to take me to work and call when they have a car, that was at 11amish, it is now 2:38 after I finally called them only to be told I do not have a car yet. They have a car on hold for me but waiting to have the windshield replaced. WTH?! I told her I am off work at 3pm and have to have a car. Still waiting.... read more
