They called me to confirm my reservation before I got there which was good. However, when we got our vehicle, the air conditioning wasn't working optimally. They did let us trade out the vehicle for another one, albeit reluctantly. They checked the air conditioner and said it was working fine which I thought they should have just left alone. I retorted that it was working but not as cold as it typically should be on full blast. Both the cars were not in clean condition.... Office was clean and nice and cool. Customer service was satisfactory in that they allowed us to switch out the cars. No lines. Would definitely choose this company over Avis. (We had Avis for the other week we were there and that was worse). read more

I have been a loyal customer and member of enterprise since 2000. I served in 2001 US Marine Corps station in 29 palms California were I rented vehicles when necessary. I have always recommended to my fellow Veteran to go with enterprise because of your commitment to excellence customer service. With that said I would like to highly commend Jomar Morden branch manager of 3-3257 Kuhio HWY for his outstanding customer service. Our vacation to Kauai was really rough due to flight cancelation and other factors unrelated to enterprise. Jomar met our rental needs and went above and beyond with extending our rental and returning our car later giving us the flexibility to continue our vacationing 2 more days with our vehicle. read more

Let me first start by saying I LOVE Enterprise. I worked for the company for almost 6 years. We reserved a car for our trip to Kauai and we took a Lyft over from the airport for about $10 no big deal. My mom has a corporate account so we were able to make a reservation with a great discount. The branch manager helped us out and when we arrived his was the only employee in the store with about 3 car preps outside all working on cleaning a QX80 outside. We were given a free upgrade to a Nissan Maxima which was awesome! Once we opened the doors to the car is where the problem started. The car was fifthly. There was a handprint on the passenger side rear window that we asked them to clean. Other than that there were spiderwebs, dirty floorboards, the seats had stains and shoe marks, and there was a ton of crumbs and sand all in the car. In the new Covid world we are living in I would expect the vehicle I am getting into to be spotless and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. This was not the case. I worked for the company at the height of the pandemic and this vehicle would have never been acceptable or passed a clean car check. Please do better for your customers. read more

No shuttle and they won't pick you up from the airport so be prepared to pay $15+ for a one-way cab to their location. Their business hours aren't particularly customer friendly and should you need to drop off your car at the airport enterprise, be prepared to be charged $50 fee (the two locations are 1.5 miles apart). read more

In the time of Kauai rental car shortages and horror stories of 75 person waiting lists at other rental car companies... we had a fabulous experience at Enterprise! Took the shuttle over from the airport (pro tip- Alamo, Enterprise, and National are all one, so grab whatever shuttle you can). After a short wait, we were led to our reserved jeep. Beware of online quotes. I found a quote for a car on the enterprise.com website. So we took an Uber from the airport after a 7 hour flight to pick up a car. We walk in and we were quoted double what I found online. We use enterprise in California all the time and never had an issue. Staff didn't care to help or honor the online price. Not an ideal way to start a vacation. Good looking out enterprise staff. read more

We are grateful for the courteous service we received in Kauai by Layla and Justin. With the prices skyrocketing and fear that despite having a booking we may not get a car when we arrived- we called and Layla was very reassuring and set our minds at peace. Justin was patient and let us take our time choosing a car- he was obliging and went over and above to ensure that our requests were fulfilled. Justin, we can't thank you enough for your kindness. We did encounter a hiccup with the car we were driving and Layla again was extremely helpful and assisted us with a smooth transfer. i am so happy the local nissan dealership recommended the KUHIO HWY, 3-3257 location. the car i rented was in perfect condition, very clean. the shuttle service is unbelievably excellent, ive never experienced anything like it. i never had to wait for my shuttle to and from the dealership. the drivers and the front desk people are so kind and personable. i was feeling stressed before, but left feeling cared for and understood. they truly want the best for everyone who does service with them :) read more

Our van is new and clean, and staff was welcoming and efficient (this stands in marked contrast to our terrible experience with Hertz last time on Kauai 1.5 years ago, which included massive lines and surly employees). We have had wildly varied experiences with rental car locations on Big Island, Maui, and Kauai over the past few years, so I want to make sure credit gets where credit's due. This review is a little late but it may still be helpful to some customers. We are loyal Enterprise customers, are part of their rewards account and further have rented from the Lihue locations several times are well as other locations around the country. We rented twice from the Lihue Enterprise in 2018 - once in April where we experienced the usual good service and again in July, 2018. We rented a van and were traveling with a large family group. We reserved under my rewards account however it was our intention for my husband to pay with his credit card. No biggie - or so we thought. When we arrived tired from a long flight it was explained to us that the name on the reservation needs to match the name on the credit card. Since the reservation was under my name and my husband was paying with his credit card, this apparently presented a problem. They had to cancel the reservation and re-reserve the vehicle under my husband's name so he could pay with his credit card. HOWEVER, the problem with this solution was that we were not able to get the points from the rental added to my rewards account. The representative told me that if I contacted the manager after the end of our trip, he could move those points to my account. Fine - seemed like a good enough solution - or so I thought. Once we returned home from our trip, I tried calling, however, the phone number goes to a central Enterprise customer service number, not the specific location. So, I emailed the manager TWICE and never heard back and never received the rewards points. Since we rented a van and they are a little more expensive than other automobiles I was really hoping for those points. Very disappointing. This is our first disappointing experience with any Enterprise location. I'm not completely done using them, but I'd like to encourage them to think twice about their reservation name vs. credit card name policy. We can not be the only family to ever face this dilemma. read more

Would have given a 1 star but after fucking up twice, they got a decent car from another Enterprise closer to the airport that had a larger lot of cars. Read on for more. We reserved a car months before the trip. Over the phone we confirmed they would provide a mid-sized car. So what happens when we get there? They didn't have a car for us. This was the first fuck up. So they gave us a convertible. You might be thinking, well a convertible is a sporty car right? But this is Kauai. It rains nearly every day. And, most importantly, we had 4 people. Cramming two people into the back while luggage is not how we imagined our first day here. But they promised us they'd have a better car tomorrow. Well guess what, their better car was fucking given away to another party even though they had promised us the damn car. Fuck up number 2. So we yelled at them and eventually they went to the OTHER enterprise near the airport and got a car from them. 3073 Aukele St, Lihue, HI 96766 is the address for the much larger, more reviewed Enterprise. The car they got us was a 4WD SUV which was better than the 4 door sedan we had asked for. That's the only reason why this isn't a 1 star review. Bottom line: If you're set on renting from Enterprise, rent from the bigger, better reviewed Enterprise near the airport, not this one. There is zero reason to trust this rental place when they screw up not just once (not having the car when you arrive for your reservation) but twice (not even having the second car they promised to you fix their first mistake after promising to hold the next available 4 door sedan that you reserved months ahead of time). read more

I have done rental cars before and the worst experience I ever had was on Oahu with Hertz Rentals. So I knew off the bat I wasn't going with Hertz. I was hesitant to book with Enterprise because like Hertz, they are are a big company and I was worried I would get the same kind of bad service. But they had competitive rates and, compared to the other rental companies on the island, a better reputation. So we booked a car for 7 days. We booked about three weeks in advance. From the airport, there is a shuttle that takes you to the office. There were no other passengers on the shuttle and it was nice, clean and air conditioned. As soon as we got to the office, there was a rep that immediately approached us and helped us with checking in on a kiosk. As soon as that was done (about 5 minutes), she took us out back to get our car. She gave us a choice of 4 cars that were in the lot. Imagine my surprise. The whole process took about 15 minutes - that's from the airport to sitting in the rental car. I even voiced my surprise about it. During the walk through, they only record scratches over two inches. Bumpers don't count. That was VERY helpful as we drive over pebbles (okay, rocks) in some places and some rocks nicked the bumpers, but bumpers don't count! :) The process to return the car was even easier! The rep just checked that we filled the tank and handed us our receipt, the shuttle took off literally a minute after that and before you know it, we're back at the airport. That whole process was maybe 10 minutes long. I was very impressed with this Enterprise office and if I ever go back to Kauai, I'm definitely booking with them again. read more

Horrible customer service, for a reservation made by my insurance company. I dropped off my husband to pick up the rental while I dropped off the car at body shop so that he could pick me up there. We both have the same last name and are both listed on insurance card. Female attendant did not agree to release a car due to reservation being called in in my name, not his. Had to spend extra time 'proving' that we were both entitled to pick this rental car up that morning. read more

These guys were a life saver. Prior to our vacation we booked our car rental with Fox rental. Because we arrived 1 hr past our estimated arrival time, Fox was going to charge us an extra $300+ to rent a larger vehicle stating they didn't have our economy car any longer. Unwilling to be ripped off, we drove down the street to Enterprise. After relaying our "Fox" nightmare, Enterprise gave us an outstanding deal and turned around what looked like a rough start to our dream vacation. I highly recommend Enterprise, their staff was great. read more

We are traveling in Kauai September 5 through September 8. I have been using Monarch hand controls since 1992 and know that I must talk to managers and sometime technicians in order to be assured that a car will be equipped the way I need it to be equipped weeks and weeks ahead of time. A car was booked with Fox. I spoke to a manager regarding my request for hand controls. This was in May. She discussed with me the type of hand controls Fox uses. She even texted me a photograph of the controls she said Fox used. I googled the information and felt comfortable to drive with them. Surprise is an understatement when we arrived at Kauai and first found out that Fox does not have lifts on any of its busses. Second, we were told by the driver that Fox doesn't do hand controls. Third, we were then given a paper saying that we needed to get a car at Enterprise. We got on the Enterprise bus that DID have a lift and went to Enterprise. In short, Fox cancelled our reservation rather then provide hand controls. Fox then reserved a car at Enterprise WITH NO PROVISION FOR ACCESS AND FAILED TO ADVISE ME OF THIS CHANGE. At Enterprise..... Good news! Ashley Abotas quickly punched in our resevation(made by fox) number... Until we told her about the hand controls. She said Enterprise needs 48 hours to install the controls. THERE WAS NO INDICATION ON THE PAPERWORK THAT FOX SENT TO ENTERPRISE STATING THE NEED FOR HAND CONTROLS. We paid the rental fees which were higher than Fox. Matthew Golia, the manager quickly ran to the technicians. It was 4 pm and that's when they finish their shift. Oh so luckily a car with hand controls had just been turned in. Matthew had the car cleaned out and washed. Both Matthew and Ashley kept thanking us for our patience. Indeed this was taking longer than an ordinary situation. We were so grateful to be accommodated by Enterprise for Fox's botched scenario. Matthew put our suitcases in the SUV. Then he moved them so that the wheelchair could go into the back seat. We couldn't find the Garmin holder. He ran and lent us one. He told us that he was supposed to finish work at 3 pm but was taking off Monday so was working overtime. We cannot thank Matthew and Ashley enough. Their caring and kindness was more than ALOHA. Without their quick action we would have been stuck on the island for two days out of the four that we are visiting. We hope that Enterprise will recognize both Ashley and Matthew and compensate them for making a negative situation into a positive one seamlessly. Thanks ever so much, read more

I had a two month economy rental through costco. Price was best of any off airport company. Dealt with office manager, Kyle. He treated me excellantly. Called me day before to confirm rental. Arrived late and went through check-in ok. Could have gone quicker but had to change rental from 60 days to two 30 days. Kyle gave me a midsize. I have already made my next reservation. Hope Kyle is still there. read more

He had the staff turn over a vehicle super fast and get our family (with 2 small children) a vehicle at a reasonable rate with 2 car seats so that we could enjoy our vacation without stress!!!
