this establishment is terrible. They stole my money and lied to me. They quoted me $545 I paid wen I returned the car off in Dec. It is now Feb 2 and they charge my card an additional $200. I made mother of two kids and have lost my job. I spoke with Jake he told me there system messed up and they are at at fault. this company has put me in financial hardship. First time renting from here was great end to end. Easy pickup of the car I reserved and it was clean and full of fuel, which isn't a guarantee (sadly) these days even at major airports. My interactions with the staff were positive and service was done in a timely manner. I will definitely use this convenient location in the future. read more

The staff at this location are top notch. Super personable, friendly, helpful and funny. Had me checked in, my car washed up and ready for me in less than 15 minutes. Imagine being told by your, oh I don't know, your insurance company; to go to the store for, say, marshmallows. You get to the store. They don't have marshmallows. "Maybe we can get you on in a few days." This business is like that, they don't have control over their inventory. Furthermore their outgoing hold message is all about how they are a family business and they are keen to show us the difference that they make. Laughable. Avoid at all costs. read more

Staff is nice enough, but they have serious issues with inventory. I travel frequently for business and the Matthews location is convenient but the ongoing issue with availability is a deal breaker. I book through a well known national travel company, and the local Enterprise team will call a few days in advance to confirm the reservation but even with that two step process it's still a likelihood that they will either have a completely different class/size of vehicle, or in some cases no vehicle at all. Today was the last time for me, even after the courtesy call to confirm the reservation ingot there to once again find the vehicle was not available. I'm not picky about what I drive, but there is a huge difference between and full size sedan and a clown car. Hate the thought of having to go further out of my way for a rental but I'm out of options, and patience. read more

I reserved a car through Hotwire.com (confirmation TJMXXH) to be picked-up at this location (705 Matthews Township Pkwy., Matthews NC 28105.) When I arrived to pick-up the car, I was first told that they did not have any economy cars and they could not call me because I did not give them a telephone number. (This is totally untrue, as I have the printed confirmation wherein my telephone is clearly printed). After I challenged this untruth, I was told that I must pay an upgrade fee if I wanted to rent a car from them. I reluctantly agreed, as I needed a car to get to work. Then they refused to accept my Visa card because my Driver License was issued in Florida. I was stupified by that statement and asked for clearification. That is when the lady dehind the desk handed my a sheet of paper, that had obviously been photocopied many times, and was informed that that was this location's policy. I left and called your Customer Service number (800-325-8007) and explained the situation. That's where I was asked if there was any way I could go to my home and get two utility buiil that are not past-due so I can prove that I am credit worthy. I am not making this up, your company expected me to fly back to Florida from North Carolina, go to my home, pick two utility bills (that are not past due - that was the most offensive part of this entire situation), fly back to North Carolina and hand them to the lady at the Matthews location so that I can prove I am creditworthy. Needless to say, I never rented a car today. I missed a meeting for work. I have to pay a much higher rental rate at another company because I did not have a reservation. And I've been charged by Hotwire for the protection insurance for a car I was not allowed to rent. Enterprise has lost me as a customer. I'd rather use public transportation before doing business with this company. read more

My experience renting a car for a week was absolutely great. I used Costco Travel to reserve the car and it was ready as soon as I arrived at the rental location. I was driving out of the lot in less than 5 minutes. The car drop off was very quick and easy as well. The customer representatives at this Enterprise location are very professional and courteous. Yesterday went to their location at Indian trail in caliber Collision after having Conversation day before to pick up vehicle when went to their location Vehicle not available and they want me to switch different vehicle with upgrade fee, also ask me for three References Ridiculous!, Never had problem with enterprise before but yesterday spent 1.5 and done with them, still give them another chance and Book My Reservation In Matthews Branch talk to them yesterday evening to make sure car available also make reservation with this 1823322326 confirmation and they don't have vehicle available, make another reservation this morning with this 1823351037 and ridiculous vehicle not available at that location. I would never recommend Enterprise to anyone who looking for rental. Ridiculous customer service and Unprofessional Staff. After Having Another Conversation with My Adjuster they made sure Two Van Available at that location and went again to pick vehicle they have given van to someone and they run out with car again, after talk to adjuster again they end up giving Nissan which I demand first but they refuse first. really Horrible experience with this people, I am too weak to deal with this people, I don't deal with them if I don't have to! read more

Not sure about these other reviews, these guys (and gals) were great. I rented from them because they are conveniently located next to where my car was being repaired. Right after I talked to the insurance rep about wanting to use this location, these guys called me to set things up. I specifically requested a luxury car and they came through with a nice BMW. Other than reviewing the standard contract they never tried to upsell me anything. No hesitation to use them again. read more

Customer service does not exist at the Matthews Township location. I booked my rental on-line and got a confirmation and then a follow up confirmation email sent again the morning of the rental pickup. Then I received a call from the manager saying they actually didn't have a car for me, but later found out from the assistant manager that they did indeed have cars just not the midsize I booked. They refused to offer me a car that they did have available unless I payed an additional $30/day--are you kidding me??? After speaking with the assistant manager the blame was put on me for not booking with a live agent in the first place to make 100% certain there were cars available. Why even have online booking if it doesn't work. Plus, if they can't guarantee a car online shouldn't it state there are no guarantees a car is available? It should state to call an agent to book live rather than confirm a reservation. Now I'm left with no rental car on the day of my departure. Apparently they could give a crap about customer service as there was none shown. read more

Rented here on several occasions and each time the staff exceeded my expectations. The first time was a Friday, I called 10 minutes before closing and told James I needed a car because my AC/heat stopped working. Not only did he guarantee he would get me in a car he did it with a great attitude! The second time was due to an accident and I didn't know the process with repair shop, insurance company, etc. Ciara answered all of my questions and made the process so simple. I've since rented cars for trips and family visits. Awesome job Matthews branch!! read more

My wife was driving our son home from the hospital and her tire sheared off of the bolts. At this point we're so worn out from the hospital stay of a week and can't believe we're going through one more thing. We take our vehicle to the wrecking service right next door to this enterprise and called enterprise the next day. Our insurance was annoyingly slow at authorizing a vehicle and then we found out we had a limited amount of coverage on the rental vehicle portion of our policy. (This is my problem, not enterprise's.) We have four kids so we were trying to get a vehicle that could carry all of us but it didn't look like it was in the cards. The staff at this enterprise listened to our story, took pity on us, and actually hooked us up with a minivan for what the insurance allowed. This is such a huge help to us as our car looks to be in the shop for over a month. There is some genuine customer service happening in this place. These folks know how to take care of people. We weren't just a number as I often fear with large chains. On a granular level they cared about us. We left feeling relieved for the first time in weeks. Something had finally gone right. There were three ladies at this particular store that I wish I had gotten cards from. I have Kelsey Maffucci's card. I also run a business in Matthews. When we need to rent a car I will be going to this Enterprise. read more

I got rear ended and the insurance of the driver that hit me was giving me a rental car from this Enterprise location. Before they did anything else with me they called my insurance to see what kind of coverage and deductable I personally had. They highly pressured me to get their additional $20 a day coverage, told me as soon as they saw any damage to the car they were charging my insurance the $1000 deductible and whatever wasn't covered they'd charge me and told me they'd been charging people bringing back cars all day. We did a walk around of the car and it had a ding and several scratches. I told the man that he was making me feel like I need to take a picture of every blemish on that car. He assured me they'd all been documented. I haven't returned the car yet but I can say I'm very worried considering how hungry they seem to reap profits this way. My car rental experience was truly one of kind. I was having a terrible week while I was on my way traveling from New Jersey to Florida. Unfortunately on my way I ran into very drastic car trouble resulting in my car breaking down with major damages. I was on a timed travel on my way to Florida so it was imperative that I got a rental car. I ran into enterprise about 5 minutes before closing time but the associate who helping me by the name of Victoria Kaiser was more then willing and respective in regards of helping me. I quickly explained my situation to Ms. Kaiser and she truly made it her responsibility to make sure she help me out to the best of her ability. I feel like she truly went above and beyond the standard of customer service. Ultimately she took the time understand me and predicament. Ms. Kaiser was very patient with me in allowing me to gather myself together to do what I need in order to obtain a rental. She helped me work everything out and got me into a great rental car which was very clean and smooth and most importantly reliable. The staff at this location was outstanding, full stocked and outstanding customer service. Once again a special thank you to Ms.Kaiser for helping get me into a great car and back on the road again. read more
