Pretty disappointed, I've rented from Enterprise many times in Ventura, with no complaints. First irritating incident was not a big deal, they asked for a credit card and swiped it without telling me that it was a $500 deposit! Good thing I didn't offer my debit card! Second, super high pressure sales for the extended protection.. The salesman made me feel like I'm the only person in the world who ever opted out of buying additional coverage! "really man, most people don't skip over this, I need your signature that you decline to have the vehicle covered. It's on you from here. What's your deductible?" My main concern - my wife and I asked about returning the vehicle and we were told over and over that it's based on a calendar date and we had until closing to return the vehicle. When my wife did return the vehicle she was told that she had to pay an additional day because the vehicle was returned later than the check out date. Lastly- the vehicle was so dirty that my wife had to request that the car be washed before renting. They treated us like this was such a huge favor, a clean car when you drive off... I don't think that I'll recommend Enterprise in the future, if needed definitely spend the time to go to the Ventura branch. read more

Rented a car from Enterprise in Oxnard, CA for a one-day, one-way trip and returned the car the next day at the John Wayne airport. Minor damages were noted at the time of rental with pictures and entered into the reps ipad. I asked for hard copies but the rep replied that an email would be sent. Drove off and received email later but could not open the attachment while driving. Returned car and rep noted the same minor damage and said he had to file a claim and was very unfriendly about it. Contacted renting agent who sent me proof of damage at rental from their system. Despite this, Enterprise has been harassing me for damages with letters and phone calls. Not very satisfied. Recently rented a car due to a car accident I was in, the enterprise car available were very limited, only one car was an option, we were not satisfied with it but had no choice. after I called multiple times to ask about availability to switch to something I was happy with, no one answered, and it was this way with all the enterprise car locations I called everyone in town!!!! And all of them had nothing!!! Called for about week and finally when they had another car option to switch too, I didn't need it anymore because my car was done with at the repair shop. read more

After a horrible experience at a Ventura Enterprise where we had rented from regularly, and have spent literally thousands of dollars with over the past two years, we were ready to switch to another rental company altogether or postpone our drive to orange county. Not wanting to miss time with our friends down there, though, cuz nothing's hotter than the OC, we decided to give Enterprise one more chance, but definitely NOT to the condescending employees at the other location (uh, sorry, but to get nasty with a customer for not wanting to rent a car with part of the bumper hanging off is NOT an example of how to treat your loyal peeps.) It was short notice on a busy Saturday, Sept 26, transferring the rental to Oxnard right as they were closing, but Aaron Schlabra and his team were soooo friendly, courteous, professional, and awesome at explaining Enterprise's new deposit policies. Returning the car a few weeks later, they were just as warm and welcoming when I returned the car for my partner. While it's extrwmely inconvenient to us because we are too far away to get picked up or hitch a ride home, the awesome attitude and customer-dedicated demeanor of the Oxnard folks has won our business, we just try to schedule to drop one of our cars off to have something to drive home upon rental return. P.S. it would be terrific if the Oxnard team could retrain the Ventura employees in customer service, or at least provide them with a much needed attitude adjustment. read more

I've been renting from this location multiple times over the last few months and never had any issues. My last encounter with this branch has influenced me to avoid bringing my business to them due to lack of security. When employees start doing things that are not supported by policy nor has been implemented on previous encounters; that's a red flag. I am convinced that one of their employees is involved in some fraudulent activity that involves credit/debit card scams. I have expressed the situation and my concerns to the manager and all I ask is that you all actually take the time to do some sort of internal investigation at this branch. Thank you. read more

Fantastic visit with this Enterprise Office! Staying in Camarillo and needing to further my journey into Orange County for work, I initially booked a car rental in the same town. However, reading reviews on Yelp and Google it appeared to be in my best interest to drive to a neighboring city. Changed my reservation to this Oxnard office and hoped for the best. Friday morning pickup with Kate (Katlyn). It was quick, effortless, and above all, professional. Not only did Kate honor my AAA Membership, she also waived the additional two-hour service fee. With my return date on Saturday, the office opens at 9:00am. The software system sees this as added time, not a logistical detail. Even sweeter, my service fee was less than quoted online. Thank you, Kate! PS: I even received a courtesy call Friday afternoon to check on my car and experience. Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Car Rental Near Me - Oxnard, California

So I had to use this company for car rental since my car was in the shop and insurance was paying for it. Where do I start... First, they were supposed to pick me up at 10 15am, the driver didn't show up till 10 45... Once I finally got there, they showed me my car, and had me sign the receive. (I guess in their world this meant me "out of the lot time". Well, the car was completely empty on gas, and the girl had to take it to put some fuel in it, which took additional 30 mins. I have not left the lot till 12pm that Monday. They charged my car $100 deposit, and said it was going to be returned when I drop the car off. I dropped it off following Monday at 11 24. Long story short, the redound has never been issued. The insurance agent told me I had the car for 8 days (since when is it 8 days in a week?) Ah right! Time out shows 10 56am time in 11 24!!!! Only time out was about 12-12 30 When I called Friday before and said my car wasn't ready, they said it's all good. I have had rental cars before and have never experienced such a terrible service. As a matter of fact, I was not the only frustrated customer. It very much looked like all of their cars were out of gas. I wasn't only one who had to wait for them to fuel the car. But they are very fast to put down "time out" the moment you give them your license, make you wait around for 45 min to an hour, and then charge you for an extra day because supposedly you returned the car 30 mins later?! Enterprise isn't my first choice when it comes to car rental services. I had no other choice this time. I needed a car rental on a Sunday and this location was one that was open and closest to me. I was a bit worried at first when they informed me the car I had reserved wasn't available, but they had another car on standby and that I'd be paying the same rate as the car I had originally requested for. Overall, good experience. They're open on Sundays, wide variety of car sizes to choose from and have very friendly staff. read more

Worse experience ever renting from these people. Debit card has no chip, a chip is required. Then the debit card with the chip is considered a prepaid card which it wasn't .Then they would take the card with no chip. Not enough funds so My friend brought her bank issued debit card connect to her checking account. But since she was out of state and the debit card had the inprint of DEBIT in front of it they wouldn't take it. Way to many hoops to rent a car for the day. Lousy communication specially when the field office talked down to the call center. Can't stay in business if you keep changing the rules and so call policies that they weren't able to provide. read more

The management team that over see this store are the rudest and unprofessional people I have encountered at any establishment. I was attempting to retrieve items that were left in a vehicle and they gave me the HARDEST time. They didn't follow up with me, I had to contact them. I also was promised they would communicate information to the location at which I would be picking up my items and they did not. The management let me show up, not relaying information to the staff on site and I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for them to literally give the "ok". When talking to them over the phone they cut you off, don't allow you to speak and mutter things to their colleagues thinking that you are on mute. Rest assured Enterprise has lost me as a customer and I refused to go to ANY other company BUT them prior to this. I understand having a bad day but not following through and treating your customers as if they are nothing is not acceptable. Be mindful when picking this location. read more

It takes a LOT for me to write a bad review but this store has certainly earned one. I get my car serviced on auto center drive and for the life of me can't figure out why they refer anyone to this store/company. Every single time has been a horrible experience and I wish I could say it was just one time/one person having a bad day. The last time it took nearly a week to get 4 extra days off my card because they left the car at the dealership. The manager tells me no one told them. I was standing right there when the service manager at the dealership called to tell them the car was there. It took a call to corporate AND the service manager at the dealership to get it straightened out. More recently..... On Thursday, after waiting for over an hour for someone to pick me up, I finally decided enough is enough. Found another rental company in the area. I was in a rental and on my way to work within 15 minutes of placing the call. Keep your "dealership discount". I got a much nicer car at the same rate and the entire customer service experience was NIGHT and DAY difference. I made sure I communicated this with the dealership as well. Trust and believe if I need to rent a car again, I will not hesitate to call the other company. read more

I reserved a van at 8am. I was advised that the van would be ready by 10am. When I arrived they still didn't even try to prep the van. The "assistant manager" Baylee Gerardo started to look for a van while we waited. She brings a disgusting van. I let her know this is extremely dirty. She replied I know we will have it clean in 20min. She had an attitude because she felt I was complaining. She said you should have reserved it days ago. I told her it's hard to reserve so much in advance due to a funeral. We left the car rental place. When we returned Baylee Gerardo walks out the Enterprise location with keys in hand and says the van is ready. We take the keys and she walks back into Enterprise. I walk to the van to inspect it. The van was still so dirty it had straw wrappers, an old salad box with almond sprinkles all over the seat and floor, water bottles on the floor and it was poorly vacuumed. I couldn't believe they were renting us this disgusting van and that she had the nerve to claim it's ready and clean. I walked back the the Enterprise office and asked her if she can go see how clean this van is. She tells me to wait. I told her make it quick. She showed up to the van and tells us she can have them clean it again. I told her you had plenty of time over 2 hours to clean it. We are also running late. I was so disappointed with this woman's customer service and how she unprofessionally handles this issue. I let her know this is unacceptable. What kind of business claims a car is clean and try's to rent it. She even claimed that she had inspected it. I couldn't believe her incompetence. She then says she feels uncomfortable renting us the van. She didn't apologize or accept the fact this van was not ready to rent. She felt as if nothing was wrong. We were already running really late. She then says I'm going to cancel the rental. Thanks for your horrible customer service and waisting our limited time Baylee Gerardo. You need more training because obviously you have no idea what your doing. We went to another Enterprise. They had a van ready in 15 min. They provided excellent customer service and guess what? The van was actually clean! Take notes Baylee, you need it! You just make excuses and a pathetic attempt at sarcasm with your have a good day as we walk out. I thought really? Difficult to trust a company that gives you a car with low tire pressure, half a tank of gas, and up sells on insurance.

I've rented from this shop off and on and wanted to give props where due. The gentlemen that helped me are kind, efficient and had me out of there promptly. I recently returned a car using the after hours box on Saturday and was charged for Sunday too as I didn't realize they are not open Sundays. When I called to let them know I dropped off the car on Saturday Espesania answered the call. She was kind enough to credit me the extra day without hesitation. I'm grateful. I understand that when you ask for a specific car they usually don't have what you want with any rental. But if your main concern was to rent a rear wheel drive or 4x4 capable and they give you a front wheel drive car that's not good. The lady at counter took my request and gave me something I didn't want. If you can go else where do it. I was well served at this Enterprise. It is my first time getting a rental from them via USAA (I got into a car accident and had to get a rental while my car is in the shop). The driver TJ who picked me up from the auto shop was very nice & personable. He made efforts for conversation rather than it being just all about the business which I appreciated. When I got to Enterprise it seemed busy but I was helped right away. Cameron is the manager I think but he welcomed me too and even offered me coffee from their break room which was thoughtful--I am not a morning person and said I needed more coffee and he let me have some! TJ finished up everything for me in about 15 minutes and he showed me to the car. Made everything very clear to me (I also asked some questions just to be sure about certain things). The car provided to me wasn't super duper clean but then again I am not one to have stupid expectations--sorry to other reviewers that seem to feel like a slightly dirty car is bad service because it's not bad service, that's picky expectations! I had no issues with the Chevy Impala they chose for me. TJ said he could get the car washed but I told him it was totally fine (we're in a drought people!). He even gave me a call just now to make sure that everything with the rental was OK. The only thing I would mention is that I had called on a Friday to make my reservation for the following Monday @ 9AM, when I was done at the shop at 9:10AM I called Enterprise and it seemed like they didn't know to pick me up. I booked a 4-door Ford Focus hatchback for 25 bucks a day. What they offered me was a Dodge Challenger (saying it had a big trunk) or a Dodge Minivan for 45 bucks a day. Enterprise feels like they are doing me a favor by giving me a good rate on a vehicle I didn't want. This happens a lot I think, and not just with Enterprise. I'm just not going to give them a free pass on trading me up to a more expensive vehicle. read more

I rented a vehicle as a "loaner" vehicle since my vehicle was in service at the Ford Dealer. Upon rental, the car was dirty and only had a half tank of gas. The rep kept pushing me to buy their gas as it was cheaper than anything around. She also assured my that their Ford Focus didn't have the problems that most Ford Focuses are having (which is why my vehicle was in the shop). I returned the Focus yesterday and kindly expressed concern to the rep that their Focus in fact had the same shudder upon acceleration problem mine was having, and that perhaps they should have it looked at. I was told that until there is a recall, there were no plans to have the car brough in for service. I was disappointment that they are placing people in a vehicle that has a know issue and weren't willing to do anything about it. To update my review, I received a call today from the manager at the location, John. He informed me he's grounded the Ford Focus I was using and that he was going to look into what should be done about the rest of their fleet that may have the same problem. He also said that he would bring the car into Ford himself to have it checked out. I've given two additional stars, because that is excellent customer service. read more

Well let's just start by saying I have rented from enterprise a lot of times. So on Thursday I secured a truck rental online for Friday through Monday. I get to enterprise and this girl whom I never got her name tells me that I need a major credit card, and that is their new policy for trucks and suvs. But I could rent a car with my chase debit card but not truck. I told her t hen why did it take my debit card online to secure reservation. She had no response. She started to get rude and have an attitude and I did to in response. But that isn't the point. The staff working the counter was nice and really doing all they could to help people as fast as possible. This was my first experience renting a car at all and being under the age of 25 I had no idea how the extra insurance worked or if I had a choice on to have it or not. The kid that gave me the keys to my car couldn't tell me if i had to have it so he said just sign it so I'm covered. Little did I know that my Insurance company covers me for whatever car that I drive. So I didn't need the extra insurance and my insurance company already told them that I didn't need it either. Yet the kid still told me to sign for the extra insurance, that ended up totaling for two weeks and extra $350. At the end of the two weeks, for the basic model that I could get, it was almost $600. I had to have my insurance company call and get the insurance removed since I was told to do something that was not correct. Over all I had a good experience. I work in sales so I understand them trying to get people to sign up for the insurance but don't just add it on when their insurance company already told you they didn't need it. The insurance cost more then the actually cost of renting the car. read more

Never rented a car before and the guys at Enterprice in Oxnard made the experience very positive. We rented a big Mercedes van that fits 12 people. The price was affordable and fair , and we ended up booking it for 3 days. There was a minor scratch on the side of the car when we were returning it, and we encountered no problem and no hassle about it. Customer service is one of the best. My girlfriend and I live in the San Fernando valley and we were running late to the auto shop here. We got to the auto shop around 5:50 pm and enterprise closes at 6. They were able to get a driver out to pick us up and get us a rental for the week. They stayed open waiting for us...not a lot of companies or anyone for that matter does that. Brian at this location is awesome. He even took the time to show us how the car works.
