For this reason, you would think that they would not take reservations that begin at closing time. The next day, I called and asked if I could still receive a car with the originally quoted price. I assumed that since I arrived for my reservation the previous day, they would honor my original price. Instead, they said they could still give me a car, but quoted me a price of 3x more than my original reservation. All around a negative experience. Customer service needs to be improved.

He even told me how to bypass the annoying AI chat customer service if I needed to contact them on the Hertz phone number. This guy gets customer service and no issues whatsoever with this location. In and out in 10 min. You do have less selection and the cars are stored in a normal strip mall parking lot. I can't speak for coming here when it's the weekend or more packed. If you have your heart set on the car in your reservation, look elsewhere as the nature of these small locations is you basically just get what's available that day. To try and avoid the usual issues, I even had an executive customer service representative (Laura S.) reach out to this locations manager two weeks prior to my rental to ensure everything was set. None of it mattered. I still arrived and was given a Ford Expedition instead. This has now happened multiple times with different hertz locations, so clearly reservations -- even with corporate involvement -- don't mean much at this location and others. The condition of the vehicle made it worse. It was dirty, worn, three different brand of tires and had over 60,000 miles on it -- not even close to what you expect when paying for that class of vehicle. Here's the part that really pushed it over the edge: I returned the vehicle to the airport location, and somehow I was charged a cleaning fee. That's right -- I was given a dirty vehicle and then charged as if I returned it that way. As an employee stated it's just big and dirt baked on by the Arizona sun. On top of that, trying to contact the location was a joke. Calls were being unanswered or immediately hung up. Between the wrong vehicle, poor condition, lack of accountability, and being hit with an unjustified cleaning fee, I'm done. I've already canceled multiple future reservations in 5 different cities and will be taking my business elsewhere. If you actually expect to receive the vehicle you reserved -- or even a clean one -- I would strongly suggest looking at other rental companies.

Just purchased a car here a week ago. Paid for routine maintenance…read moreoil change, fluids & all that stuff. Drove it to Sedona & the alternator went out on car. Had to pay for the repair there, because towing it back to Mesa would be too expensive. Upon notifying the dealership to see what could be done about it. All I got was I'm sorry we would have been chaeper on the repair. Not taking any financial responsibility at all. I didn't expect the total repair to be paid & even stated so. But taking some ownership of what you sale would have been nice. The lack of professionalism & not standing behind what they sale is a total red flag. STAY AWAY. Bad place to buy a car.
