Came here on Wednesday afternoon around 1pm. Keandre helped me and was super friendly. He even gave me a free upgrade. No people in front of me so no wait. Best part was no upselling or tricks like a lot of the Hertz airport employees. He even told me how to bypass the annoying AI chat customer service if I needed to contact them on the Hertz phone number. This guy gets customer service and no issues whatsoever with this location. In and out in 10 min. You do have less selection and the cars are stored in a normal strip mall parking lot. I can't speak for coming here when it's the weekend or more packed. If you have your heart set on the car in your reservation, look elsewhere as the nature of these small locations is you basically just get what's available that day. At this point, this isn't a one-off issue -- it's a pattern. I reserved a full-size SUV (suburban class) months in advance, which is more than enough time to have the correct vehicle available. To try and avoid the usual issues, I even had an executive customer service representative (Laura S.) reach out to this locations manager two weeks prior to my rental to ensure everything was set. None of it mattered. I still arrived and was given a Ford Expedition instead. This has now happened multiple times with different hertz locations, so clearly reservations -- even with corporate involvement -- don't mean much at this location and others. The condition of the vehicle made it worse. It was dirty, worn, three different brand of tires and had over 60,000 miles on it -- not even close to what you expect when paying for that class of vehicle. Here's the part that really pushed it over the edge: I returned the vehicle to the airport location, and somehow I was charged a cleaning fee. That's right -- I was given a dirty vehicle and then charged as if I returned it that way. As an employee stated it's just big and dirt baked on by the Arizona sun. On top of that, trying to contact the location was a joke. Calls were being unanswered or immediately hung up. Between the wrong vehicle, poor condition, lack of accountability, and being hit with an unjustified cleaning fee, I'm done. I've already canceled multiple future reservations in 5 different cities and will be taking my business elsewhere. If you actually expect to receive the vehicle you reserved -- or even a clean one -- I would strongly suggest looking at other rental companies. read more

I went on line and reserved a car for a week to go to a funeral out of state. About an hour later I called and was guaranteed in person by a human at hertz rental company that my car was waiting for me to pick up. After I got off work I went home and got my son to go and get the car. When we got to the location that was supposed to have the car they took there time ( almost an entire hour) before telling us that they did not have the car we were promised and that they don't have any other cars available. They gave us another location to check out and they didn't have any cars ether. Stay away from hertz car rental sites they rent cars that they don't even have. Hopefully others learn from the problem I had with and go somewhere else. Never will I try to rent a vehicle from Hertz again. Only 1 star because I can't give them a negative 100 stars. read more

Willis heavy set African American front desk very confrontational has very poor customer service I've seen adults handle kids more maturely he doesn't care about getting anyone in a car he acts as if he's doing paying customers a favor. For nearly two years, I've been in and out of rental cars, visiting every Hertz location across the Valley--and this one is by far my favorite. Vanessa has an amazing personality and always greets you cheerfully, instantly brightening your day and making you forget any issues you may have had before walking in. Willis is also fantastic--kind, gentle, and thorough. The previous manager was incredibly chill as well; although I didn't interact with her often enough to learn her name, she was always very nice during our conversations. The new manager seems great too, though I haven't had the chance to speak with him much yet. One thing is for sure--they all definitely know my name as well as my business partner! all of it! The car Zi rented did not run properly , I was in Phoenix Arizona and the AC did not work in the Nissan Altima! I drive it 2 times and didn't dare drive it because of the way it was making noise! I would never ever rent from these people again, the man was nice enough at the Sky Harbor Airport in Tempe AZ but he did not go over anything about the vehicle with me, and where I dropped it off in Tempe on Priest Rd was a joke! the women and men working there were more interested in chatting about their night out then helping customers, they were not helping me in any way at all it was a poor excuse for a car rental business ! I asked nicely if Zi could receive some sort of refund as i didn't put any miles on the vehicle and i made sure what gas I used was out back in , $5.23 is all it took when i stopped at the gas station. Went here a few months ago to rent a car for a road trip back home. Terrible experience. Older/larger "gentleman" in the front was extremely rude and combative. When my car had to get serviced, I needed a rental car ASAP. I booked my Hertz rental car through AAA and when I showed up the same day, they had a car available for me right away. The check-in process took about 10 minutes. Also, even though I booked a Compact car, they gave me an Economy car, as this was the only one available, at no extra charge. The only con was that the car I drove smelled like smoke. When I dropped the car off the next day, the check-out time took less than 5 minutes. It was super easy and convenient. The staff here are friendly and helpful. They took the time to answer any questions I had and I didn't feel rushed. Additionally, when I was arranging a ride to the place where my car was being serviced, they heard me on the phone and immediately offered to give me a ride - this saved me time and money! read more

This location takes over bookings. Taking reservations for vehicles they do not have. I was depending on the car I reserved here for a week long trip I had planned at the Grand Canyon, and had already paid for. When I arrive at 2pm to pick up my car they told me they didn't have it and were "waiting for people to get back in" before they could provide me the vehicle I had reserved. I asked how long I would I have to wait past my reservation time and was told at least several hours. The young man at the front desk took my phone number and promised to call me when my car was ready. No phone call ever came. I called just after 5. The store closes at 530. I was told that my reservation was not going to be honored and that nothing and no one could do anything anything about it. They were so sorry they had over booked. Maybe the VM could call me later. When she was done cleaning cars for other people. Not now when her assistance was desperately needed but after someone else was already receiving service. Car cleaning can wait. Resolving problems with time sensitive reservations cannot. Let's just say this location doesn't provide reliable service. Or, well, service at all. If you need a car, go somewhere else. You won't know if they'll have the car they said they do for you before it's too late. read more

While forced here by the Dealership for lack of loaner cars. You arrive to an already ick feeling of workers that cannot be bothered or have any sense of urgency or customer service except 1. Vanessa seems to work very hard and very attentive to customers. On both occasions upon pick up and return you get to endure the poor customer services as well as hearing them all talk about other customers they have just helped. They are not speaking about their customers in a nice way. Well, upon drop off I realized why. I got to experience a very loud blond woman who is a Manager speaking to someone in a back room. She went on to talk about picking up fleet cars and a WAGONEER full of bullet holes. She spoke of how they were guessing which on was the head shot. So this already ick feeling went to straight ghetto. Now I see why her employees feel it's ok to act like this. Poor leadership here and if everyone spent a little less time talking crap I'm sure speed, customer service and efficiency would increase. Wow read more

My partner and I planned a trip with a rental car from hertz for 12/22-12/30. I booked online through Priceline, and the cost of the trip was covered as a gift and put on neither of our credit cards, but was put under my partners (26) name as the driver. On 12/21, we stopped by to ensure our reservation was all set and asked what we would need for picking up the car / what would be needed paperwork wise etc. We were told the drivers ID and when double checking nothing else was needed the staff looked at us like we were crazy for wanting to make sure. So we left planning to bring drivers ID (We weren't notified then that we needed to bring the physical credit card used to book in person when picking up the car). When we first arrived on the 22nd to pick up the car, the staff couldn't find our reservation at all and acted doubtful of our reservation until they turned their page with the list and saw it on the other side. Once they found our reservation they asked for the drivers ID, which was listed as my partner, so my partner provided the ID and they held on to it. They then told us we needed the card used to originally pay physically in person. Again, this car rental was a gift I didn't purchase myself, and as it was starting to get close to closing, I did not have time to coordinate with the person who purchased or to bring a copy of the original card used to pay. I tried to coordinate with them for a bit, but running out of options and time after giving up on the original card, I asked the staff if I could rebook using MY credit card that I had with me. They said yes, I could, but I had to call a service line number in order to do this, and the person on the phone was actually very helpful. When I came back in to let the staff know the card used for payment was able to be switched to a one I physically had, they then let me know that the person paying HAD to be the registered driver/ the name on credit card had to match The drivers ID. Because it was almost time to close and waiting on the service line phone number had a long hold originally, I accepted it being under my name. The staff was extremely unhelpful and did little to offer any solutions. I probably would have called the hotline number back to switch payments again to my partners card had it not been 5:30 and we were being rushed out. The staff did not explain thoroughly at all what I was charged in addition today when picking up the car, and I was under the impression only one (hertz or Priceline's) would post. Seeing the emailed receipt, I got charged an extra 200$ total fee tacked on for the trip because I am under 25. I was never the registered driver when I booked. I was not planning to drive. I put under my partners name when I originally booked for this exact reason, and he was expected to drive for the whole time. When I called to have the payment switched, the phone operator confirmed with me that the driver would remain to be under my partners name. We absolutely would have put the charge on my partners card had we been aware of any of this information. I felt the staff could have provided even the slightest bit of correct info at any point in time which could have prevented any of these delays and issues. Especially the fact that I asked them if I could rebook with MY credit card, and they said yes, after we first confirmed the original reservation was with my PARTNER listed as the driver. They had my partners ID for the original reservation and told me yes when I asked if I could switch the payment to my credit card. They could have also informed us of this when we came to verify what was needed a day ahead of time. I don't understand why it would give me the option to book online under one payment name and a different drivers name if hertz doesn't allow that. We tried to prevent any issues like this by coming a day ahead, and I feel extremely misled and unhappy with this situation. read more
