We ended up renting a truck from this location after our original location in Sorrento Valley informed us that they didn't have the truck we needed for our trip. Hayden Bartlett worked with Stephen in the Sorrento Valley location and together, they were able to secure us a vehicle and also allowed us to keep the same rate while adjusting the number of days that we needed the truck. Pick up and drop off were easy and we appreciate the great customer service, especially since it was a holiday weekend and the outcome could have been very different. A reservation made well in advance was not going to be met - I get it and understand the nature of the business, but the explanation was due to a "recall" which they had been dealing with for "at least a week." *note it was for a 12-15 seat Van for a wedding event. Calling me back to inform me at 605pm which is after end of business, (the day before I was to pick up at 9am) was a very poor attempt to make any accommodations. I'm not sure how enterprise is as a company and I will never find out after this experience. First off the lady at the front desk was amazing doing easily 3-4 people jobs by her self. However that is the only silver lining to this whole endeavor, I roll in 5 after 8:00 in the morning to pick up a car reservation made almost a week prior. We show up and at least 10-15 enterprise employees leave the building and get in to cars and drive as fast and far away from the building as possible, probably knowing the shit show that seems to accrue on a regular day there. We go inside and wait in the queue they tell me a long with the other 8-10 people waiting to pick up a car that it will be 15-20 minutes until our vehicle is ready. Wait you're telling me that the reservation I made ment nothing, ok sure that's fine I don't mind waiting I understand you are busy. Mind you my husband is waiting our car waiting for me because there was no where to park even though they had an entire empty parking lot blocked off, to I don't know make it feel busy. As I'm waiting a disgruntled guest comes in whom wasn't waiting yelling and throwing a fit got pushed to the front of the line and helped before any one else. Again I can understand but this stuff piles on peoples patience. I finally get helped I'm walked out for what was supposed to be a simple walk around of the car, mind you every other place it's very friendly to do this part I.e. look some one scuffed some paint here, you won't be held liable for that. Nope not here the entire time the conversation was about what I can do the enterprise employee, not what he can do to help me. He had the audacity to scoff when he asked if I wanted to pay for gas though him, like sure I might have found it a convenience to just pay the difference and have them do it but when he come of as just trying to make me feel bad and make a but by saying I'll never find a better gas deal then him, I'd rather spend 9$ a gallon the put money in let alone this mans not to mention this company's pocket. Then he had the audacity to make me second guess my self by condemning me on not getting their permission insurance, I had to go ask my husband even though I know our insurance covers rentals, is cheaper and better. Even if it wasn't go back to the gas section, I'd rather pay 1000$ my insurance than 160$ to this man or company. To top off the whole thing what looked like the manager was more interested in leaving the office and looking at his phone than even lifting a finger to help any one of his employees. Selection at the time was very limited, and not within the criteria of what would work for us, e.g., category we had requested, and for the lengthy driving. I was willing to wait. Unfortunately, this place is VERY UNORGANIZED! they initially charged me a $100 security deposit and the rental fee for 5 days. I called in to request the extension of the rental for an additional 5 days, and this office then charged my card for an ADDITIONAL $200 security deposit and the 5 days. Manager stated it is the policy to have a $300 security deposit. I informed the manager that should have been charged when the car was initially picked up. Very big disconnect with employees and management I will not rent from this location again. No one knows what is going on with the policies in place. read more

Had a rental provided to me by the Honda car dealership down the street while my car was being serviced. This enterprise location had no selection and gave me a crappy Chevy Malibu for my rental. I retutned the car a day later and asked for a courtesy ride back or free lyft or uber ride to the dealership and was told this Enterprise does not provide those services. Then this Enterprise wanted to charge me $7 for returning the car with 1 gallon off the tank when I picked up the night before at half tank full. read more

This is the worst Enterprise dealership I have ever used. They tried to charge me for an extra day even though my car was dropped off on the due date before they opened business for the day. The "Manager" stated she was on duty that day and didn't find my keys until the next day. I have a family member testimony that's a lie. I had to be on a train that day and have tickets to prove I was. They still insisted I was a day late and owe an additional $52. Total scam. The whole thing was beyond frustrating and felt like a scam. We came to rent a cargo van on a friday to drive down to a convention in LA. Pick up was fairly easy, except the fact that he didn't include the $30 insurance even though we had asked for it. We should have double checked the contract but were in a rush to leave. But that stress will come later.. We come back early Monday morning around 9 and get the inspection. John, or Josh, does it and says there's damage to the front bumper. (Which was definitely not us) They look at the before photos are there were already scruffs from the previous driver. So the fact that they're blaming us for it is absurd. The bumper is a cheap plastic thing at the front that just unlocked (probably from the previous renter who did the scuffs) and must have came off more while we were driving on the freeway. My partner literally clicked it back in and that was it. He still wanted to start a claim for it. Then them claiming we didn't sign up for the insurance (when we remember we did because the first guy literally sold us on it and convinced us to get it) John, Josh, whatever, was super frustrated with us as we were frustrated with him. I know he tried to keep his cool and was just doing his job but the whole thing felt shady. Thankfully after fighting it they ended up closing the case a couple days later. When then they send me an invoice after the fact they wanted to charge an EXTRA $500+ because he says we used more miles then what is comes with. Claiming we did 1800 MILES in TWO DAYS. Insane. Again another thing we had to fight but thankfully we spoke to a manager this time and right away she saw something was wrong and said the odometer must be broken. They really need to check these things before giving these cars out and doing a way more thorough inspection of what its previous problems were and are now before claiming the customer did all of this and then trying to charge us a ridiculous amount for their wrong doings. Thankful for the manager for fixing this right away and resolving everything so we did not get charged an extra fee for the "mileage or damage" If we didn't fight this like we did though we would have lost A LOT of money due to the negligence. There was 2 employees in the car rental section. I stepped in at 11:20am, about 6 people were seating around the counter, waiting to get their car... weird. There was 1 person beofre me in line for check-in. It took over 20 minutes for the employee to "sign me in" (!?), no idea what was happening, but it was terribly slow. Then I was asked to wait to get my car. I waited 25 more minutes... The person in charge of "giving cars" was taking 10+ mins per customer (why? nobody sent me to my car, I had to find mine by myself because the office was closing). New the BEST PART: The car (that I booked a week ahead). I got the "last" car. The clerk warned me "it's a bit dirty we didn't have time to clean it" so he gave me 30% off by default. OK... I said I didn't mind if the car wasn't washed as long as it has gas "oh sorry, it's not a full tank you'll have to refill where it's at". Seriously? I'm not satisfied so now the clerk is giving me free gas (bring the car empty). OK... The car: FILTHY (see pictures), stains everywhere, STINKY, (mold and cigarette?) no cruise control, 40K miles on the car, very loud. Disgusting, the dash board was sticky...horrible. A SHAME Enterprise! You can give me any discount you want, my company is paying so I don't care! Now I have to use that disgusting smelly old car and give a ride to my supplier in it??!! My experience with Enterprise Car Sales in Vista CA was such a welcoming and easy experience to buy my first car! I never went to a dealership before and as a young women I was quite nervous! But Josh, Michael and Andy made my time there super easy and walked me through the buying process! I've been without a car for sometime and Uber had been my only form of transportation but it was getting really costly, after I told them about my situation we went straight into action and I was able to get my first car in 2 days after the initial test drive! Literally the worst place ever to rent a car, was given a non-roadworthy and absolutely disgusting car. I recently rented a high-end Porsche 911 Carrera from this location. The bad: My adventure first started when I tried to reserve a car, was told I reserved a Corvette. Was called early in the morning on the day of my reservation and told that they don't actually have that car but they do have a Porsche. I was actually kind of excited because that's obviously a bit of an upgrade. So I went to the location and did the quick once over exterior inspection, and got in the car. The first thing both my girlfriend and I noticed is that the car reeked of cigarettes. It smelled like somebody had been smoking in the car for years. So I went over to the clerk and told him that the car smell terrible and I didn't want to be charge for that when I returned it. He said that he would make a note in the rental agreement, I was never given any proof or sent an email of this update. The Worse: When I was giving the car it had less than a quarter tank of gas, so after driving for about 30 minutes on the freeway I was pretty low and had to stop. At the gas station I noticed that the car externally looked a bit beaten up. Particularly the rocker panels, it looked like they had been replaced and painted poorly with some cheap paint. After I had filled up with gas, I noticed that there was some change on my left side in between the seats. So I reached down and pulled out a couple of coins and license. At about the same time that I pulled out that license, my girlfriend found a BULLET!!! Now let me make this clear, this was not a shell nor a casing but the projectile bullet that is shot out of the barrel of a gun. The non roadworthy: After getting back on the freeway, I noticed that my mirrors were a bit out of whack. So I went to adjust them with the buttons on the driver side door. I pushed one button and nothing happened I pushed a second button and nothing happened. I soon realized that the whole button panel on the driver side door was completely dead and did nothing. So not only could I not roll down either of the windows (even tho my girlfriend could roll hers down from her side) nor could I use the seat presets and most importantly I couldn't adjust my side mirrors. So now i'm driving this car that obviously should not be on the road, and I start getting my check engine and low oil indicators on my dash. My girlfriend and I get to your Destiination and I realize that the car on start up sounds absolutely terrible. Conclusion: After talking it over with some friends, I'm pretty sure this car was used to run drugs. I have left pictures of the Bullet as well as the plates and Vin of the car. I was the 1st in line and yet the gentleman had the audacity to ask " I can help the next in line" umm hi?! Was I invisible? Because there was a pretty standard line... so that was disappointing. 2nd after " checking" me in I was told I needed to wait, and would continue to assist me later. Then, while waiting I saw other people behind me getting their cars right away! Ooh so, I guess I had the "wait" special while everyone else was able to proceed with their appointments right away. Horrible and expensive experience. Check the cars carefully and take pictures. I usually rent from Hertz at the Ford dealership up the street, whenever my own car is being serviced and I get nice, new, spotless cars that smell fantastic and I have never had a problem. Enterprise showed up on my search and I was thrilled because they are one street from me in walking distance. When I arrived for my 48 hour rental, a guy showed me around too quickly (maybe took 60 seconds) on a short Hyundai and I am tall and didn't bend down to look at everything close enough. I trusted them and didn't think too much, when he stated the large chips and scratches on the back were noted and the car was dirty on the inside rim. I trusted them to NOT give me a car with a damaged windshield too low for me to notice at the time of rental. I saw him take pictures and asked me to look at the body, so I didn't look in the corner of the windshield. I drove it one street to my house parking and drove it to a protected lot at my work for two days. I noticed a weird semi-circle line around the sticker on the front low left side, but it looked like part of the sticker adhesive. I didn't think twice because it wasn't a typical windshield crack or chip from a rock.I trusted them. When I returned the car two days later, I was charged for a cracked windshield that I didn't crack. I believe they either switched out the cars too quickly after the last rental, as I also noted dried bird poop on the passenger side door, they did a rush job clean-up, or the glass was defective (see picture). They didn't look or take pictures of the windshield, even though he took.pictures of the body in several spots, and I am paying for it. I was very upset and the office people were as nice as they could be, but I have no proof I didn't do it and they didn't take pictures of the windshield before. Never again, it was a traumatic experience. They need to take pictures of all four sides, including the windshield. It needs to be policy, so this doesn't happen to someone again. read more

My original rental at Escondido location was interrupted by the SDGE battery facility fire on Friday 9/6. I came to vista the following day to pick up a car because I needed repairs on mine. Apparently they had none of the small sedan that I reserved only full size (the website showed my vehicle type available at this location). Instead of honoring my original reservation due to the circumstances, I was charged more for the available vehicle. When I came to drop off the car, I arrived 30 minutes before closing and the office already had a few people waiting to be helped. We could tell they were short staffed so waited patiently when the woman who washes the cars came in and commented in front of all of us "I think it's funny the door says closed at 2pm yet we still have a room full of people". We had all been waiting for 20 plus minutes to be helped! That was so unprofessional and rude. read more

My significant other made a reservation for me to pick up a luxury vehicle for the weekend and when he got to this branch and gave his ID to Ashley to rent the car, the branch Manager said his DL wasn't valid and he couldn't rent a vehicle from them. Mind you it's a valid, not expired DL. It just has a discrepancy on the DL of a crack on it, photo is clearly visible and it's not expired and they refused to accept it. The branch Manager Toni said it was unacceptable. He has rented multiple vehicles at this location prior to the management change. He has even rented vehicles with his license in this exact state before with a prior manager. He had always had exceptional service prior to this experience. When I arrived, they said they could only rent to me and he could not be an additional driver. I asked to speak with Toni. I even had her send a picture of his DL to her regional manager Mya. Mya also refused to accept his DL yet couldn't show us a policy that proved his DL was not acceptable. I continued to rent the vehicle in my name. When I went to return it on Monday evening they had charged me for the whole day cause I rented it in the morning so, since it's was the evening, they charged me a whole extra day. Since that was the case, I asked Ashley if my significant other could return it for me on Tuesday morning. She checked with her manager Toni to make sure that would be okay and Toni approved him to return the vehicle for me. He returned it Tuesday morning as promised and all was fine. Then he received a call from Mya the regional manager to discuss the DL issue. Instead of being understanding and compassionate, she attacked him. We have never been treated so poorly by personal at that branch and we have rented multiple vehicles and spent lots of money doing so!! Mya couldn't provide proof of this so called DL policy that his ID wasn't valid. She then attacked him and asked if he returned the vehicle for me and said she'd be checking the tapes. He told her to get back to him with proof of this policy. I never heard from Mya whatsoever!! A week later, she reached out to my significant other and told him he could no longer rent vehicles from enterprise at all. I contacted Mya and she didn't return my call. I also never heard from the branch. So, I went to customer service to try to get Mya's manager's information. While speaking to them, they informed me that I too can no longer rent from enterprise. I have attached the DL policy from enterprise in San Diego, CA where it clearly doesn't say his DL would be unacceptable. So, we'll be taking this up the chain to get this rectified!! read more

This rental car company at this location is, hands-down, the worst that I've ever encountered within the last forty years of traveling throughout the country as well as in foreign countries. After promising a Toyota RAV 4 wheel drive vehicle on their website and receiving a confirmation, I arrived to be informed that all that had available was a far, far inferior Chevy economy model. The girl that I interacted with was one of the most disrespectful and mean spirited customer service agents that I've had the misfortune to encounter ever. The other 2 young men seemed to defer to her for direction and basically just stood around while there were people waiting to be helped. Since I had been dropped off at this location expecting an easy transaction, I was somewhat desperate, although the complete lack of any concern or apologies, forced me to hire a Lyft and drive all the way to San Diego to find an alternative at the last minute on a Sunday. I was able to find a convertible Mustang at a lower rate with unlimited mileage and no deposit and the customer service agents went out of their way to be friendly, accommodating and respectful. People behind me in line getting their reservations processed with no problem, when I asked why there seemed to be cars for them, enterprise told me that those people didn't book same-day so they got a preference. I stood there while they gave away my car and just watched them do it. They also told me that they were 'saving' some cars in case fire fighters here from out of town needed a last minute vehicle. Pretty sure they just made that up because I was getting pissed. Website will take all your info and schedule a pick up for your rental without anyone checking inventory, ever. Don't ever do business here, awful experience. No regard for customers, no regard for people being in a situation where they have to have a vehicle that day. Really horrible business model. Their manager Toni assured me that they documented all the previous damage to the car and we're trying to get me to leave the car lot as quickly as possible. Then when I return the car the attendant accused me of this tiny dent under the car door that you can barely see!!! There was no way I would have been able to see this dent on the initial walk around unless I got on my hands and knees. Now they are charging me $768 for this dent under the car that I didn't even do! Look at these pics and ask yourself if you would have been able to see that? Passive aggressive staff with a manager to support it! Gill, to Julie and closed with Toni (Manager) each one was progressively worse than the other. I've been an exclusive renter with Enterprise, this location, for over 5 years now. I travel fairly regularly and have always relied on Enterprise for my accommodations. Prior to this situation the worst experience I ever had was not having the correct class available at pick up, so in short nothing really to write home about. Upon pick up for this last rental (with my spouse) we were checked out by Gill; side note that everyone in the office was a new face to me, I just just been there the month prior. Not a huge deal since I know they shift around staff. We did the usual walk around and asked if we wanted insurance, we declined as usual. This time though it was a 10 minute conversation that was pushed to the point of irritation. Gill kept going and going and it was WAY too much. I get it you get a reward for the up sell, I still don't want it! After leaving with the vehicle we discovered the next day that the reservation was switched out of my name, my plus plan was removed from the reservation (rate remained the same but no longer getting points) and an additional driver fee was added; none of this was discussed with us Gill just took it upon himself to add more charges...which I'm sure he benefited from. I attempted to call Sunday, they were closed so I called on Monday morning. First call I got Julie, the most unhelpful person I've had the displeasure of working with in a long time. I asked for a manager and she told me there wasn't one...strange. I pushed the issue and she said maybe there would be one in but she didn't know...red flag! I called back again, few hours later and a manager was there but not available, Julie offered to help and I gave it a go. Explained the Gill situation and the long and short is, Julie defended Gill in saying the system automatically adds the driver fee when a 2nd person is on the contract...not true since every rental I've done is with 2 people and this fee has never been there. She did acknowledge the fee was not imposed for spouses so she would have it removed, I thanked her and moved on. I picked my spouse up from Enterprise after he checked out and I asked if they removed the charge, he said no it was exactly the same as what they originally charged. I called back and again got Julie, explained that we were charged the same and she placed me on hold, came back and said we were being refunded. I asked her to confirm that what happened was, Gill charged the full amount instead of taking off the charge and now they have to refund us back. Julie's response was to ask if we were married, I replied yes (now I'm pi**ed) and she replies "legally". At that point I let her know I wanted to speak with a manager, the line in which she crossed was too far. They made a mistake and instead of owning it decided to challenge if I was married...I've rented with the same person for years, check your records! I was told I would get a call back that day, I didn't. I called the next day and was finally put through to Toni. She was semi familiar but asked me to explain, so I did, basically exactly what was written above. Toni's response is that Gill and Julie were right! Effective March, an additional driver fee will automatically be added for contracts with more than 1 driver (unless your married or parent/child), which was never asked by the way, and the charges being charged are because Gill checked us in on a tablet and we were checked out on a terminal inside...this is total BS, if you've ever rented here you know that is EXACTLY how everyone is checked in and out! I let Toni know that I had already escalated this to corporate and regional yesterday when she didn't respond and that I would let them know what her and I discussed. Toni's response ( the most passive aggressive) was that, the complaint would just come to her and would I like her to call me back: translation, this is the best you're going to get and I don't care. Well Toni, I will not be speaking with you again and will absolutely reach someone above you to discuss the gross mismanagement of customer service at your location! It's unfortunate that these 3 resulted in the loss of my business, I feel I've been loyal and valuable through the years and this experience is enough to walk away and take my business elsewhere. read more
