Our 25' rental was home for about two weeks. It started off a bit rough but ended very smoothly. We lost a day because we held off on packing it up as we noticed the registration was expired by nearly two months. After phone calls and a trip back to the yard (the kid we rented from struggled to help us), we were told to go ahead and load up and go; if we got any tickets, they would take care of them. On one leg of the trip, there were 5 of us: 3 adults and 2 big dogs. Brother-in-law found the bed up above the cab to be roomy but a tad claustrophobic. We're not sure it can comfortably sleep two adults up there haha. I loved that we had a freezer (I made dog food and froze into packets), fridge and strong AC. The air was on for almost the whole trip (our husky overheats easily). The rig itself was full of contradictions: notes posted said to not work on the vehicle yourself but that you are required to do oil changes at 6k miles (we checked fluids and changed a wiper blade ourselves). Other notes said not to drive off pavement, yet you can get a Cruise America discount at KOAs (which are all located off paved roads). The windshield had a crack in it that we discovered the hard way when rain came in and leaked all over the passenger side. We got a discount of a day for this issue (we wish we got two days for the day we lost packing, but this was appreciated). We returned the vehicle to a guy more knowledgeable than the one we rented from. We let him know the issues we encountered immediately so we wouldn't be charged for them (black water showed full most of the trip even though we didn't really use the toilet, locks on storage door and camper door wouldn't turn easily, wiper fluid didn't spray even after we filled it, etc). Overall, we would definitely rent again from them if we need to take a trip with our girls. Pros: - easy online reservations - lots of storage space - big fridge (used about 4 gal propane in two weeks; not bad!) - microwave - Godzilla motor was powerful (guy said we returned it at 60k miles which is what they blowout at; glad we didn't know that before we left) - dog-friendly!!! - very clean - KOA discounts Cons: - all the contradictory notes - locks struggle in extreme temps - main bed really high (I got bruised up so much that I started sleeping with the girls on the table-bed) - bed above not fully supported; bowed under the weight of an adult - toilet a bit high - rig door didn't open easily - registration not updated (we didn't get pulled over though) - fridge kept going off (we think it wanted to default its energy away from the propane)

We rented the 25' V8, and it accelerated quickly and rode smoothly. We went to Death Valley and Phoenix and had the AC on, and the motor and transmission never fluctuated or got hot at all! She was able to accommodate us in our large 5th wheel at such a short notice! It felt so welcoming and safe and we are so thankful for them! The three ladies in the office didn't hesitate and immediately went to work looking for a larger spot for us. They did, spot #104. And not only did they allow us to move, they didn't charge us the difference for the remaining 3 nights. Customer Service is alive and well here at Escondido RV Resort! And if you nonetheless rent here, I urge you do the following: (1) Thoroughly review and photograph (time stamped) the trailer/vehicle and raise any flaws before you drive away. Otherwise, you might be accused of doing damage you did not do, as we were. (2) If your fully-functional vehicle mysteriously will not hook up to the Airstream trailer, forcing you to rent one of their pricey trucks at the last minute, be suspicious. This happened to us. On our return, we had our vehicle evaluated; it was fine and unlikely to have been the issue. (3) Check to make sure the hot water and heat actually work before you drive away. We did not, and we had no heat or hot water (do not know if it was user ignorance, or the trailer). Either way, we were offered no discount. (4) We received towels and sheets, and nothing else. Ignore the fancy website photos. No plates, cups, utensils, let alone corkscrews or cookware. Bring your own. (5) We wanted to rent the smaller Bambi trailer, but were told only the larger one was available. Unclear now to us if that was the truth, or what stock this company actually has. Caveat emptor.

Kids were riding their bikes all around no problem. Stores near by. Property manager was one of the coolest ones we've ever met. Just all around great experience! We will definitely be back for nearby tournaments!

I would highly recommend that Olive Street RV update their drone video to show the current status of the park. The beautiful looking resort-style is now occupied by permanent and long-term seasonal residents. The back in spot I reserved in February for 2 weeks at the price of $1350 is no longer available. We were assigned a narrow pull-through spot next to a nice trailer who has junk and trash laying around their campsite that was very unsightly. The other trailer next to us is definitely more than 10 years old. Most residents take pride in their sites and keep them clean. The best part of our spot is that there were no sewer hoses outside our door. We did feel safe and the residents did respect the quite hours. We did not use the laundry, the pool, or the WiFi. I would also suggest that Olive Street Trailer Park add their office hours to their website. California is extremely expensive and the economy is ridiculous. I am glad that people have found a nice, safe place to live. I just feel that Olive Street RV needs to reflect their business in an accurate way so that people know they are not going to a beautiful resort for their summer vacation. This are no pretty flowers or grass as residents use it for additional parking.

The level of comfort and home vibe I felt while staying says a lot because this new full time rv way of life has been a tough adjustment for me but woods valley made me feel like "yeah I could for sure do this." I could only afford to pay for one day at a time but if you pay for weekly or monthly, you get a discount. So that's my eventual goal.
