Really surprised at the low ratings for this Enterprise. They actually did a very nice job with my recent minivan rental. I usually go with Avis but they were sold out and Enterprise had pretty good rates so I figured what the heck. . Upon arrival, the pick up process was very quick and easy. As I was waiting for my bags I walked like 7 steps to the Enterprise counter and within 5 mins I had the keys to the car. The car was parked down the road, about a 3 minute walk away. It was quite easy to pickup the car and be on my way. I got a decently equipped Pacifica and was very happy with it. Overall, I'm going to give them a strong 4 stars. Even though I'm a Avis fan, I'd definitely consider these guys next time. read more

Amazing customer service! Today I came through to return my rental, and the gentleman asked me if my rental experience went well. I don't normally speak up unless something was truly wrong, and I did. My flight came in pretty close to the time I had to be at a wedding, it was raining, I am handicapped, and it was a long way to walk to get the car- so I didn't have time to go back and exchange it for another vehicle. As soon as I opened the vehicle it smelled musty and of cigarette smoke. Regardless of the weather the brakes in the car were more sensitive than getting used to a car would be, and it was raining and the windshield wipers were not very effective. I informed the gentleman of my experience, and I explained that I even took it to the car wash to use the fragrance and vacuum to try to get the smell out- I even opened coffee bean packages to try to absorb the smell- everywhere I drove I had to keep putting the windows down to breathe and got a terrible headache. The manager came out immediately, apologized and took care of the manner immediately! I was so grateful! Every time I come to visit my family I fly through HPN and always use Enterprise, and I was so glad they addressed this and had wonderful customer experience! Will use next time! We left a jacket on the back seat. Called them immediately (30 min after drop-off). They wouldn't return call. Called and left messages for 2 months. Submitted multiple 'Lost and Found' claim tickets that said a rep from the location would follow up. They never did. I eventually got the actual airport staff HR department involved. Then they claimed they didn't find the jacket. This is not a debate. We had two suitcases in trunk and my jacket in back seat. Someone working at this location stole my jacket. When I actually had them on the phone, they were incredibly rude, like I was lying to them. Their handling of this situation was incredibly unprofessional and seems obvious that a worker stole the jacket, when they wouldn't follow up with over 10 inquiries. read more

We rented a car at Westchester Airport in New York, with Enterprise, no third party. When we arrived at 10:30pm, after checking in ahead of time and giving them our credit card number, we found that they had no rental cars available. Neither did any of the other rental car agencies. When we asked how we should get to our destination, 30 minutes away. They shrugged their shoulders. We paid over $100 to get an Uber to the cabin we were staying at. We had no food or water the next day, and still no car. We called enterprise corporate and they didn't offer any help at all, in fact they said it was going to cost us $200 more to return it to the airport, despite the fact they had no cars at the airport. So our now rental car reservation is costing us around $800 between Ubers and enterprise fees, and they downgraded our car to a traverse from a BMW like car. They charged us the same. Not to mention since they are short on cars, they jacked up the prices for all rental cars. They do not care about their customers and do nothing to make things right with them, when they screw up. They made sure to tell us, AFTER THEthat reservations are not guarantees that you will actually get a car. So WARNING: ENTERPRISE WILL SELL A CAR YOU RESERVED OUT FROM UNDERNEATH Update: After all this... when we returned the car to Westchester, they didn't charge us for the $200 different drop place location and for the Ubers. So needless to say we are super appreciative for how helpful the very nice young man was who returned our car. I wish we had dealt with him all along! Awful company. We put a reservation in for a car rental to be ready for when our flight was set to arrive. Our flight was delayed but was expected to be there by 40 minutes after they closed. We called and were assured as other people with the same situation someone would be there two hours after close until 2 am and they had our flight info. When we arrived us along with others were stranded at the airport because they're employees decided to leave When we called the number it was a call center out of the country that said they left for the day and nothing could be done would have to come back in the morning. We were stuck at the airport with two young kids and found a taxi service to being us to NJ for $130!! We called the next day and said we could come back and get the car which we had no way of driving back the opposite direction we were going 45 minutes each way. We had to rely on borrowing a car from someone to complete our vacation Company acknowledged that the person was supposed to of left but really no care or apology. Will never use them again as they are not a reliable trust worthy complaint that lies with employees that clearly make their own rules with no regard for their customers. If they were honest and told us that they were not willing to stay we would have cancelled the reservation and tried to find an alternate way home from the airport way ahead of time not in the middle of the night. People need to be aware that they can't rely on Enterprise! read more

Nothing that was said over the phone was true! DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE!!!!!!! Rented a car and called two days before to confirm and review the reservation. Everything was great!. Car was $539 due at the time of the return And $200 plus 20% deposit due at the time of pick up. At the counter the person going over the information about the car said everything that was said was not true. The car ( at the counter) was $726 due at the time of picking up!!! because he said the deposit and amount for car rental had to be paid in full plus $3 for additional drivers. Fine I was now needing a car so I just got it! Now I'm looking at the charges and I was charge $726 plus $200!!!! And the contract says I will be charged $5 for additional drivers!!! As the saying goes, there needs to be a category of less than one star: My daughter's car broke down. We needed to rent a car in a hurry. She called Enterprise to get a car at Westchester Airport. This phone transaction was at 5:30pm. They confirmed it and SENT HER AN EMAIL, which she had on her phone. We get to the airport at 8:30pm. The employee there says she doesn't have our name. Sorry, no car. We plead with her, we show her THE EMAIL WITH THE CONFIRMATION NUMBER ON IT. Sorry, no car. She's not exactly going to overwork herself either to help us, let's put it that way. She finally offers us a car at DOUBLE THE PRICE, since we are allegedly "walk-ins". ARE THEY KIDDING ME? Avis was 20 feet away. We got a better car at even less than the honest price Enterprise offered us. Is this some sort of scam or something? If it's not a scam, then if this isn't BRUTAL INCOMPETENCE at it's greatest, I don't know what is. When you show the rep at the counter your confirmed email and she still refuses to even lift a finger to help, well.... Enterprise lost a few customers (plus everyone I tell), forever. Enterprise, either change/correct your system, or change that ghastly employee you have there, for gosh sakes, Avis is 20 feet away, and Hertz was 30 feet away. I typically rent cars from Hertz, but due to my last minute need for a vehicle they did not have one available. For the first time I used Enterprise. I will only be renting from Enterprise now. They were quick and got us the car we wanted (a Hyundai Accent). The girl at the front desk was awesome and made me laugh (she gets 5 stars). The reason they only get three is because the guy at the check in made me feel like an idiot. Let me back up a bit....I used to work for ERAC in Texas so I had an idea how the whole process went. When this guy was going around the car I was pointing out all the scratches and paint chips...he told me that only cracks and dents were recorded. That wasn't the way it used to be so I tried to tell him to humor us and mark the scratches, etc down. He wouldn't do it. I told him that I would hold him responsible to his manager if we were charged...he said don't worry about it and handed us our contract. Luckily we were not charged but I still worried. read more

The people at the counter are friendly enough, although the Enterprise "process" of renting a car is sadly not in keeping with the latest and greatest in technology that the rest of the industry offers. This is where Enterprise really falls on its face. Frequent renters are forced to go through the heavy red-tape laden process of filling out paperwork every time as if they are new or one-time renters. For frequent business renters, this is an unnecessary and time wasting activity, not to mention that it slows down the general process of getting a car for everyone else. One of the other issues with this airport that Enterprise doesn't seem to be up to snuff when compared with their competition at this location is keeping track of where their cars are in the moderately small and mixed-use (all rental companies are in the same lot) parking lot. The competition at least tells you which stall your car is in. Enterprise just gave me the keys and asked if I knew where the lot was. Of course, I did know where the lot was, however, I was not expecting to find my car not in an Enterprise stall, but a couple of companies over and in a National stall. I'm not quite certain how you can lose track of where your cars are in such a small lot, but they managed to do it and made me hunt for it. Negative points for time wasting on several levels. Other than these issues, the car was in good order and the people were generally friendly, although not very efficient. read more

Several days later I received a letter informing that there were scratches on the hood and the driver door.... Enterprise asked me to fill out a accident report so that a claim can be claimed on my car insurance... I called to complain and the case is being dropped.. My trip to NY brought me to Westchester County airport, Having lost my luggage i was attempting to have a Delta representative locate it, it was lost in Atlanta but was on the next flight up. Hence me being late to pick up my rental on time. When offered 3 vehicles to choose from i chose a mustang with a bad back, what a mistake. Great car just getting in or out was difficult at best. On the website it says you don't need a major credit card. Then you get there to find out you need a major credit card and they only except a debit card if you have a returning flight. But how can you have a returning flight if there are no returning flights coming to the airport. Unfortunately this violates New York State Business laws. I'll start by saying that I am a frequent renter of Enterprise during the summer months. Due to increased travel needs, I usually rely on them for reliable vehicles and good customer service. Unfortunately my last two rentals in the last two weeks of my travels to this location have sucked. Customer service isn't what it used to, and there doesn't seem to be much uniformity in their rules and renter regulations. Upon returning to pick up a car last week, I was given the wrong vehicle, it wasn't detailed enough to get the cigarette and pet Oder/hair out of the car... Horrible renting experience is the gist of this review. We have rented from this Enterprise location several times. This time I needed extra help because I left the keys with my husband at airport check-in. It was raining and I have difficulty walking but the attendant did not know that. Attendant drove me back to check-in where hubby handed over the keys and we were given out receipt. It will be my first time today renting from enterprise, mount vernon (fingers crossed that it all goes well) but I attempted to rent from enterprise westchester county airport TWICE! And both times i was unable to because of rules i was unaware of. Simple things that could of been looked over. The trip to get there is very long and i was sent back home no negotiations.. no help, nothing offered to me. They just went on to the next customer without even trying to help out. I'll likely choose another rental car company if I return to this airport. When I arrived, 5 pm on a Sunday, a busy time. The Enterprise counter was closed. There was a sign sending us down to the National counter, where the line was much longer than all the other lines. While the National folks were efficient, there was too long a wait. Plus, they had to walk down to the Enterprise counter to get the paperwork, for each customer, separately. Dirty trick not being open when you customers have a reservation. read more

I rented a car from Enterprise at the Westchester County airport, NY, on 12/3. I live in California and i expected that I would have to take a shuttle to the car lot. I was not looking forward to that since it was cold and I was using a cane because of hip surgery. To my delight I found that the car lot was right outside the terminal. Not only that, the car was on and being warmed up. Yeah! So I did not have to get into a cold car. I returned the car at the end of my trip to Stewart airport in Newburgh, NY. Once again the car lot is right across from the terminal. I got out of the car to organize my belongings and before I could finish that process there was a representative from Enterprise at my car. She gave me a receipt and within minutes I was on my way to the terminal across the walkway. Thank you for your excellent customer service. It truly makes traveling so much more enjoyable. First time renting at the airport. Sadly they do not accept cash. This just seemed too easy but I can understand why they would not want to deal with having money there. Anyway, mine was an exception. My situation, dire emergency. Stranded in CT while I live in Orlando, FL. Michael was a life saver. His attitude was not only very professional and courteous but he was beyond patient with me. I needed the use of the phone due to the fact that I do not have a cell phone. He was happy to oblige. Even though the company does not accept cash and I was left waiting around 3 hours until finally reaching family to make a cash deposit into my account by wiring the money, I know Michael was doing everything he could as well as helping me to remain calm. This young man was such a blessing to me during this time and I will never forget how grounded and compassionate he was. Please, let Michael know he is greatly appreciated. Pee-Ew!! Whatever disinfectant spray they use in the cars is unbearable. Makes my stomach turn! And nobody else is willing to ride in the car. This was the 2nd car, the first car didn't have a USB port and we travel for business and switched it. Wish we had just bought an adapter instead. Still smells, but not as bad. After over 4 hours of trying to switch it for the 3rd time at Tuckahoe, Yonkers, LGA, and finally JFK, we found a car, it was a minivan, but a lot less stinkier so we took it. You can not reach the individual desk at each location directly and the toll-free number quotes rates and ready to take reservation for any car you want, but when you get there there's no car. And nobody can help you. All they say at the desk is "don't know why reservation say cars are available. And got to say, each car was dirty with crumbs and stains. It was part of our insurance coverage, otherwise we would surely have gone elsewhere. Would never consider Enterprise if we were on vacation. NEVER!! read more

I always rent from Enterprise when I fly to Westchester and I've always had a great experience. Fast. Efficient. Friendly. This last time I had a 3 day rental. On Day 2, I was rear-ended by a woman who had turned around to yell at her kids at the wrong time. Though I did have to return to the airport to return the car (too late to get to one of the local offices) the staff was sympathetic and helpful. They upgraded me into a bigger car for the duration of the rental at the same rate. They genuinely tried to make a difficult day a little less difficult and I appreciated that. read more

If there was a rating for less than one star, i would give it. Zero Stars is what these people deserve! Their "customer service" representatives are USELESS. I rented a car for ONE DAY. I drove it over the George Washington Bridge ONCE - when i looked at my credit card statement, i noticed i was charged a total of $70 for the Toll tag. The $70 charge was broken down into two charges. First charge on the day of rental for $25. The second charge was incurred about 2 weeks later for $50. I called Enterprise and the woman who answered the phone basically YELLED at me saying there was NOTHING she could do about it and that i needed to call the Port Authority. I tried to explain that it appeared that perhaps my name or info hadnt been removed from that tag rental and i was getting charged for someone else's use. But not wanting to overwork herself anymore than she has to, just keeps saying "call the port authority. call the port authority". Right. Last i checked, i didnt rent the car from Port Authority. Never again will me or anyone at my company or anyone that i know for that matter - rent from Enterprise! read more
