Such an adorable and cozy spot for drinks. Came here on Valentines Day with no reservations and found a seat quickly at the bar downstairs. The vibe is certainly fitting for date nights. The blackberry gin cocktail was super fresh. We ordered a few small plates: spinach dumplings, kale salad, & olives- all very tasteful and vegan friendly. Kudos to the friendly bar tender downstairs who was taking song requests and made everyone feel welcome. Certainly will come back here. read more

By far one of my weirdest experiences. I walked in here for a glass of wine. I literally felt like I walked into a stranger's home. The music - old vinyl sounding record music from the 60s was blaring. Went there recently for a surprise birthday party of 8 people. We had cocktails and apps, and did not stay for dinner. Pros: good ambiance, we were seated in back room of the first floor. The music was engaging, and the noise level was minimal so you could actually hear and talk to each other. The space was lovely, and we felt like we were seated in someone's cozy living room, and not in a bar with other people. Cocktails were good too, with adequate alcohol content and you don't feel like you are paying $20 for a syrupy concoction which does nothing even after 2 drinks. Cons : service was very very spotty. We had to walk up to the bar several times to ask for refills of drinks, water, and food. And even after that it took time for the servers to come around. It is almost felt that because the servers knew they were getting an assured 20% gratuity, they stopped bothering to check on us. They also charged us $40 for cake cutting, even though I had called before hand to confirm that they did not charge for this. The manager at the end of the evening apologized for this sudden charge, but did not offer to take it off the check. Overall, our group had a nice time in each other's company. But we decided not to stay for dinner because of the struggle we had with service. I would recommend it as a good place for a quick decent quality drink. read more

This is a place I head to catch-up with friends for a real conversation and escape the cacophony of other places or to have an intimate date night. Interestingly if you were Ms. Eyre, you will feel quite comfortably in the 19th century, French tavern-ish surroundings. To top that, they have a very good, diverse wine by the glass list that won't exact a high toll on your wallet. The food menu is limited and admittedly, I have not been here to nosh so I cannot be a critic of its quality. The only negative is that the service here can be a little slow. We had ordered the chicken thigh, which was listed under chef's favorite, the soup of the day- lentil soup, and the choice of 3 toast (wild mushrooms; avocado). All came out tasting really good! The chicken thigh came with mashed potatoes and to my surprise, the potatoes were really tasty! It was fluffy and literally melted away in my mouth. I came here for drinks the other night, they have an interesting cocktail list. Most of their wine and cocktails are priced at $15. I'm not sure wine and cocktails should be the same price but it certainly didn't stop me! We also got the cheese plate which was $25. They gave plenty of cheese and plenty of bread which was nice as some places can be stingy. I wish there had been an option for a combo meat and cheese plate though. This is a perfect date spot! I will say, I had the Sukuk Simik which was a spicy beef sausage and Kasir cheese sandwich which was REALLY delicious. But...it didn't have enough of the sausage on it, several bites were missing the sausage. This was disappointing because the sausage was soooo good. I was here last night for a group meeting. I didn't order any food, so my review is more about the general experience that I had there. I ordered only one glass of wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon, which was delicious, though I was surprised by how strong it was. Please note, there is no longer a happy hour here, which I'd been expecting to find, so if you're arriving early, be prepared for a pleasant experience! But the drinks and prices are only the ones on the menu available on their website. When I arrived, I chatted with one of the women tending the bar at the upstairs bar, she was very sweet even though I only ordered a glass of water while I was there. The group meeting took place downstairs, which was a gorgeous little room, lots of dark wood and great mood lighting. Not a huge amount of space, but more than enough for my group of 7 and for several other people who were there too. There is a separate bar downstairs, and the bartender there was really nice and attentive too. It was a great setting for the meeting, quiet enough for an enthusiastic conversation, and almost home-like in its intimacy. There's a back room upstairs, where a different party was going on, and there's a patio too, which I didn't get to see. This place has so much potential to be great, however, the staff has such poor service etiquette that our entire experience was just sub-par. Upon arrival, I had informed the hostess that we had a reservation and she disregarded it because she had a table already available and didn't need to review our reservation. Fine...makes sense. However, the table she wanted to seat us at was outdoors on the busy sidewalk when we specifically made the request for indoors for a more intimate experience. We were seated at a large arrangement, made for 4-6 and we were only a party of 2. Not a problem...I loved the lounge style setup and the extra leg room. That was until mid-way through our cocktail, we were rudely interrupted by the hostess asking, "Hi. I need you to move. We need this table for a party of 6." ......wow..? I completely understand the need to accommodate but being asked to "move" and then without hesitation, picking up our cocktails that we were enjoying and whisking them off to a table in the back without even giving us the chance to consider the request? It was a complete intrusion to our experience but I know that accommodation for 6 is not easy, so we got over it and went on with our evening. Once we were ready to order a few more cocktails and a bite to eat, we found ourselves waiting and having to awkwardly wave and raise our voice to gain the attention of the waitress. She seemed very inconvenienced by our existence and brought the wrong cocktail, which at that point was enough for me to just finish it and cut our time short. Overall, this place is great and the cocktails are great ONLY if you can look past the disgraceful, bare minimum service for a pricey cocktail. read more
