Great local cafe. Good for studying, lots of space and outlets to charge yout laptop. On top of that the coffee is delicious. Service: Is great. The baristas are always friendly and have a smile. Atmosphere: Great for studying during the weekdays. Gets pretty busy and a little loud on the weekends, especially on saturdays when the chabot flea market is occuring across the street. Typical cafe with wood tables and chairs. Food: I always get the lattes and they are always consistent in quality, which is rare. On saturdays at 11:30, there is actually ramen chef that comes in and serves ramen. Not a lot of ramen shops in the area so this its quite a treat to be able to get ramen so close. read more

The iced mocha is perfection. I'm not really the type of person to try all the drinks on the menu. The one time I got a tea, I was disappointed. It was half blueberry tea with lemonade or something. It looked cool, but tasted like medicine. Won't do that again. However, I won't do that again if I ever go back to Eon. The atmosphere is very nice to study in. I've come here several times to study and thought I've found the perfect place to study. However, the bathroom is an absolute deal breaker. It smells terrible. I don't see how a private bathroom in a cafe can even smell that bad. I don't know if they just don't clean it, or if the staff knows it smells bad and they can't actually bear it either, but it just smells disgusting. B: in the midst of suburbia. I lived in SF for a good while and I studied a lot at coffee shops that had internet. My parents live in Hayward, so when I came home I would try to go to different coffee shops to study. The Starbucks that are out here are not set up for people to sit and study. There are few tables and they are placed too close to the door or line. It's very noisy and it just feels wrong. EON is totally opposite. It's great! The internet works well, the staff is super nice. Its like they're from another planet, or Japan. The coffee is good, and I can actually study there. They also make very good Krill sandwiches (kinda pricy but they taste great). This place is a suburban enigma, and hopefully other businesses will take a hint from these guys and shape up. read more

Nice local coffee shop outside of your normal franchises! Hard to find these now unless you go to a major metropolitan area (ie: Sf, SJ, OAK). Wonderful location!! Walking distance from the community college across the street and has enough parking to accommodate an entire lecture class. Though, good luck with seating. Place has an array of seats and tables available, but not nearly enough to fit a study group comfortably. Outdoor seating is available for the nice sunny days. I never really tried their food selection here, so I can't really comment on it just yet. Not much of a coffee drinker now, but instead turn to different blends of iced tea's available. Staff is always nice and friendly. It's like they get paid extra to always have a smile on their face! Can't really help but be in a good mood after studying a few hours in here. I have found my new favorite coffee shop! I can't believe it's taken me almost a year to finally stop in and try it. I was worried because it's right across the street from the community college, it would be packed with students. Silly me. Each time I've been the staff has been VERY friendly/polite (even though the cashier service can be slow at times). We've tried the White Chocolate Macadamia Latte (iced/MY FAV), the Mexican Mocha (iced), and the Black Forest Mocha (iced) and each one has such rich incredible flavor. This is a small coffee shop across from Chabot college, which brings up the down side - it will get very crowded with students (who tend to take up an entire table to themselves - even if it's a table for four). There is a reasonable amount of seating, and a spacious outdoor area, which is only good when it's nice out. When I went on a Tuesday at 6:00, I got the last free table. The counter staff, however, are amazing. They are always so friendly and know what they are doing. They truly seem to want to help you, which is always nice. Sandwiches there are very good. There is plenty of seating, inside and out and students studying since Chabot College is right around the corner. Its a little small and its not their fault of course but it does suck cause as a once was student... I used to spend hours sitting in coffee shops taking up their space just to write papers so coffee shops near colleges need to be roomy, but all well. The only issue is ... and it could have changed since the last time I've visited E-on, which as been about a good year ago... the coffee isn't all that great. its one thing that stuck out with me everytime I've gone...but hey..I still return... so its not too much of a biggy, its just I don't crave it. Oh, Eon... How I've spent many a day here when I stupidly gave myself breaks that were too long in-between classes. The reason I started going here was not just because it was right across the street from Chabot, but I decided to give a new place a chance (yes, about five years ago). I didn't drink coffee back then, so I tried a hot chocolate. It tasted much better than the chocolate flavored water I was getting at Starbucks, so Eon became an almost daily thing. Fast-forward about five years and not much has changed. I'm back at Chabot and back spending my free time at Eon enjoying their still-delicious beverages and food. I'm assuming the older fella that works there owns the place, and, while not mean per se, he always seems impatient and I've yet to see him smile. The other people that work there are always friendly and chatty, though. All in all, I'd definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to get away from businesses that have locations nearly every two blocks. Oh my gahd. Why did I just find out about this gem of a place? Came here for lunch, got a dutch iced coffee and the turkey pesto panini. It was delicious. My friend ordered the tuna melt. I'm someone who does not like tuna sandwiches. But this tuna melt was bursting with flavors and had me craving it a week later. The combo is nice because they give you the option of chips or an apple and give you a pickle. I love pickles. Their coffee is really good and I'm intrigued with the many different foods they have to offer. Their chai is pretty flavorful as well. The staff are incredibly friendly, the lattes are very well made, the space is moderately sized, and the music they play is never obnoxious. It's a great place to get work done. My new starbucks! The interior is nice. It isn't as loud or chaotic as starbucks. It is mostly college students who are trying to study and do work. The food isn't bad and the price is good too. But I wouldn't recommend the panini because they just use regular toast and the taste is ok. I prefer the sandwiches with a nude cup of coffee or tea. Oh yeah the cheesecake is awesome! I can't believe this cafe is located in my backyard this whole time! I love going to cafes to meet old friends, enjoy a new book and of course get work done (okay, so may be I am one of those 3-4 hour camped customers). Eon Coffee has met all my wants in a cafe, plus more! There is ample seating on weekends and many different seating options: on the couch next to the fake fireplace, on stool/bar like area, booths, single seaters to party tables (as in 4-5 seats) and of course outdoor seating. There's wifi, outlets, and tons of parking! I enjoy the latte frappe (not so much a fan of the hot vanilla latte though) and also the green noodles with chicken, salad and peanut sauce is to die for. I can't say Hayward has many hidden gems, but this one is a winner :) P.S. They play great music! The ramen has great flavor and they even ask for your feedback to improve. I wrote that they should add bamboo shoots and shoyu hard boiled eggs. They're on the right track though! Been here a couple times. Nice coffee shop with a good menu. I'm a smoothie person, so this is what I am judging on. I've taste all their smoothies and they are great. The service is fast and there is enough space and parking to hang for a bit. You can't miss this spot as it is off the main road. This is a really cozy cafe located across the street from Chabot College. Their GreenNoodle salad is amazing, especially when paired with their homemade Thai Peanut dressing! I also enjoy their iced mulberry tea and appreciate that they customize the sweetness. I tried their Pumpkin Steamer from their holiday beverage menu and it was a bit too sweet for my liking. However, I believe they use real pumpkin puree because the texture was thick and tasted pretty much like liquid pumpkin pie. I love Eon! All of the people that work there are super friendly. Their coffee drinks are really yummy and the smoothies are delicious. I'm not big on pastries, but I really like their cheese bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese. Yummmmmmy! I used to visit 2-3 times a week until I moved across town. Now it's part of my family's Sunday routine. I have to admit that it can be a bit crowded at times with all the students from Chabot coming over. I also have to admit that the free concerts sometimes aren't so great... but the thing is that they're free and the performers are volunteering, so what do you expect? Pretty good ambiance here, very quiet compared to other coffee shops, free wifi and plenty of places to plug in. The cappuccino I ordered was alrite, more milk than foam but satisfying overall. Still, I bought an espresso shot to test the quality of the beans - not shabby (see pic). Had a walnut sticky bun too, it was so rich that I couldn't finish the final 1/4.
