I visited this newly opened Korean restaurant on Saturday at lunchtime. The interior decor is stylish and distinctive, and the seating is spacious and comfortable. Each table has an electronic ordering system with photos, making it easy to choose dishes. The six complimentary side dishes were all quite good, and the staff proactively refilled them. However, the portions were rather small for the price. The food quality was decent overall, but the sizzling beef lacked the smoky grilled aroma I was expecting.

First time visiting Tang Jip. I went on a Sunday night. The inside was quite busy. My table waited 30 minutes to get off the waitlist. Unfortunately some items on the menu sold out and we had to cancel one of our orders as a result. The banchan did not come with refills as the kitchen was underprepared or understaffed. The food was amazing. We got the galbi jjim with extra cheese and rose tteokbokki. Those were my favorite. Restroom was clean but out of paper towels. Parking is adjacent to the building or street.

This place exceeded my expectations. Absolutely delicious, it is a bit pricey but worth it. Yelp had a wait but we were seated as soon as we walked in. Parking is around but that area parking is a nightmare. Love the combo since I like both. Service was fast, we ordered using the table-side ordering system. Fast and easy to pay. The servers brought everything out fast and they were friendly. Very clean and simple. Cute decor.

Great addition to downtown Hayward. We need a good Korean restaurant in this side, and this one has marinated soy crab which the other Korean restaurant in Hayward does not have. We were worried about parking but found plenty in the back but it's right next to an adult store - hmmm:) It seems safe though. The place was modern, and very clean. I can't believe this used to be a Japanese restaurant before Service was top notch, and they asked if we have been there before, if we knew how to eat the raw crab, and explained in good detail what to do. Our favorite was the Rose Tteokbokki, it was soft but not too soft, and the sauce tasted so good. The raw crab was rich, and the extra rice definitely helped. We liked how you can order a combo of soft tofu soup with meat. Small plates but enough so you get variety to share.

We came here for the raw marinated crab! First off, parking is a little challenging. There's a small parking lot, but some street parking, as well. When we entered, we noticed the decor was pretty nice! Restaurant seemed clean and each table had an ordering tablet. We placed our order and within about 10 minutes, all of our food came out hot and fresh (with the exception of the raw marinated crab). -Soy raw marinated crab: comes with rice that has fish roe, seaweed salad, dried seaweed, and maybe some sort of radish. If you order an extra order of this rice it's +$9. The raw marinated crab had a good amount of flavor, and was very fresh. A bit on the pricey side, but I guess it might be straight from Korea. You don't get to pick the size of the crab like some other restaurants in SoCal. -seafood pancake: came out so hot and crispy, lots of seafood. Felt like this was done very well. -seafood soon tofu: came out bubbling hot and remained hot for a long time. Comes with an egg you can crack into it to cook. It came with a lot of tofu and seafood, which made this dish so worth it. We got spicy for heat level and it was perfect for spice lovers! Banchan was very fresh. I really enjoyed the pickled kimchi radish. It has a bit of sweetness I enjoy. The fish cake was sliced into thin pieces. There was also soybean sprouts, japchae (a bit on the plain side), and kimchi. Unfortunately the staff didn't check in with us outside of dropping off our dishes, so we didn't really get Banchan refills, as other reviewers mentioned. Service was otherwise fairly friendly. Overall, Tang Jip is a very solid place for Korean food!

Tang Jip might be my favorite casual Korean spot in the East Bay. Everything hits and the portions are so worth it. You need to get these dishes: Galbijjim - I love how the tender beef complements the salty savory sauce, with bits of rice cakes and pumpkin in the mix! Soy marinated crab, mix it with roe and their rice bowl and it's unreal. I recommend trying the spicy raw marinated crab for elevated flavors. Soon tofu combo: your choice of bbq meats + tofu soup under $30. This would definitely be my go to here. Such a good value set, I really enjoyed my bulgogi and seafood tofu soup. Galbi tang, so comforting and clean tasting with chunks of beef and glass noodles. Plus they don't hold back on the six yummy banchan (side dishes) and are quick with refills, which I love. If you're looking for a spot in the East Bay for comforting Korean food and good variety of dishes, this is your sign.

Bright and clean. Order on the table-side computer which has photos of everything The alcohol says sold out but it isn't. The makeoli all has fructose, sucralose or aspartame unfortunately, though I'm not surprised. It's hard to find at American Korean restaurants. We ordered the dolsat beef. Small amount of meat but a large amount of vegetables-- so I was full at the end and this was healthy. The rice got evenly crisp without being too oily The banchan was pretty good. I'm a no- spice girl and there were 3 dishes for me The dolsot was flavorful without adding gochuchang We will return and try the marinated crab and bulgogi and soup!! Service was friendly and quick

I been to dozens of Korean restaurants and this place easily has the best combination tofu soup I've ever tasted. That very first sip's deep flavor hit me so hard that I could barely believe it. I highly highly recommend trying it out.

This review is PURELY what I ate and I can promise you if I had their other stuff, their recommendation, it will definitely be higher. I know some people give 4-5 stars as easy as handing out handing out pamphlets but a 3 star here from me is not low at all. The thing about this pork soup is that I crave it because of this shop in Korea that sells so I ordered it knowing that it probably wouldn't be as good so I knew what I was getting in to. Now for the real review, the rice is nice the banchan is also very solid, loved their 3 different kinds of kimchi. The soup itself is very clean tasting but I wish there was just a little more pork flavor in the broth. The pork itself was a little tough and dry but I love that it came out boiling. The staff was also really nice a friendly and I love how they use tablets reminds me of ordering food in Korea. Last but not least service and ambiance rarely shifts how many stars I give a place so I try to give the most honest and straightforward reviews that foodies are looking for.

Grilled pork belly has too much fat

We usually buy take out from this restaurant, it's very hard to find a parking spot. There is a small, I should say tiny, parking lot near the restaurant, but it is always full. Kalbi is always a good choice, well seasoned. We also like the grilled pork belly, but after a few tries, we won't order it again because it is TOO fatty!! I can feel my arteries clog up just looking at the amount of fat on these pieces. We will switch to the the bossam, the boiled pork that you eat wrapped in lettuce and pickled radish. It comes in 2 sizes, appetizer or main course. If you like banchan, those Kim chi and pickled veggies, they don't give enough when you order to go. You need to specify you want more... This used to be Sapporo, a Japanese restaurant. The newly decorated Tang Jip looks very nice, well lit. The staff is welcoming and pleasant.

Food - We ordered the Tofu soup + BBQ combo which was a smaller portion - perfect for 2 people. We also got the Galbitang beef stew. The broth was simple yet flavorful and the meat was tender. Service - Pretty good. We got our banchan refilled twice. Ambiance - Really nice inside. They could accommodate big groups/parties.

Wow, the ambiance here is amazing!!! It is so neat, clean and the dishes/plates/utensils are gorgeous!! I don't usually point that out but it was a topic of discussion between me and my friends! We ordered: -spicy pork bulgogi -bulgogi -kimchi fried rice -beef stone pot bibimbap -soy marinated crab They also served us a roasted barley tea? I think, but it was delish! Everything was.. pricey! My personal order was the bibimbap and i don't think it was anything crazy. I've had better and the portion was actually pretty small. The bulgogi was great and so was the kimchi fried rice! The standout for me was the soy marinated crab, but beware it is $40 for ONE portion. It's delicious but it comes with only one rice bowl and a small portion of crab. Minimal interaction with the servers, we did ask for water and we were given a pitcher but not cups lol.

We came here on Valentine's Day around 5pm. No waitlist required but after sitting for 20-30 minutes, there was about 4 parties waiting to dine inside. Definitely come early! We really wanted to try their soy marinated raw crab and hear really good things about their other dishes too. We also ordered the bossam appetizer, and a short rib beef soup that was definitely worth the visit. The bossam appetizer doesn't come with cabbage even though the pics show cabbage on the side. However, it wasn't much of a big difference seeing how we had so much food. Very typical bossam tha was very fulfilling. The main stars of the dinner was the soy marinated crab and the soup. The crab is served with a rice bowl filled with typical Korean sides that you can mix with the raw crab meat. The rest you squeeze the meat by hand using food gloves provided. Overall a very fun and delicious meal! The soup was definitely the highlight of the dinner. It's served with a generous amount of rice and definitely is more delicious served together. The inside was quite spacious, decor was very comfortable, and service was overall great even when it was busy. Overall, great valentines dinner with the girlfriend. 5/5 for sure!

I may be critiquing them harder than others on their papaya salad and Nam Khao because my mom does it best (no bias...). However, their portions are large and the flavors are great all around. If you like rich broth, al-dente noodles, and spotless clean sauce bottles, then come to Pho Seven…read more I came here on a whim because my other spots were closed and I am definitely going to be a returning customer. Pho Seven is found two blocks down from the hesperian Target and in the same plaza as the Lees Laundromat. There is plenty of parking but you may need to walk ever so slightly in order to find this place. The interior was clean and modern while the staff were diligent and kind. It seems like it's family owned and everyone knows each other so it was nice to support a mom and pop shop. As for the food, my only advice to the restaurant is to slightly grill your nem nuong a bit more and you got something that is nearly identical to Brodards. Im super excited to have found a place so close to home that can appease this fixing. Also you can ask for fish sauce instead of the peanut sauce if you're allergic. For the Pho there isnt much more to say besides its solid and will knock a cold right out your body. It was cooked well, rich, and deep. A+ execution from me. Highly recommend, and looking forward to being a regular.

Flavor is delicious and it was an excellent and fast meal. Plenty of parking along the strip. Looking forward to trying everything else. #2 Bun Bo Hue ($14.95 for Large) - Yummy broth and choice of meats. I like the option of omitting pork blood so it's not wasted.

Since my parents live in Hayward I bring my family here very often as well. Hard to find a good HongKong style restaurants unless I go to San Francisco or Oakland but in Hayward area this is it. Food has been consistently good and dimsum is offered in their entire opening hours. I wish they open more than just Thursdays through Sundays.

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.
