I had taken my vehicle to over six body shops in the area to request an inspection and quote for repairs. Out of all six shops, CARSTAR Lake Forest had the most affordable pricing- even for OEM parts and labor. Compared to other shops in the area, they also had the fastest turnaround time, which was important to me since I didn't have insurance to cover a rental. The process was really simple. I went in, someone assessed my vehicle and provided a printed quote. Since I was going through with insurance, once the claim was filed and the quote was submitted, I scheduled a time to drop off my vehicle. The turnaround was about a week, whereas other shops were saying it'd be roughly two weeks. They were able to continually keep me in the loop regarding repairs via text and calls, so I was really appreciative of the communication. The cherry on top would be the day of pickup. CARSTAR was kind enough to provide a complimentary car washing service, which included the interior as well! This auto body shop definitely goes above and beyond for their customers. I was extremely happy and content with their level of professionalism, workmanship, and customer service. Having a shop that was able to contact me via text (since I am very busy) was a plus!

He initially explained that a flawless, factory-finish repair would require removing the bumper and completely repainting it. Since it was a minor workplace mishap, I really didn't want to go through the hassle or expense of a full overhaul, so I simply asked him if he could just do his best with what was there.Instead of pushing for an expensive repair like most body shops would, Jim offered an incredibly generous and unexpected solution. He told me to just grab some touch-up paint, bring it back, and he would take care of it for free. I was genuinely shocked that any business would offer their time and skilled labor without charging a dime, but true to his word, they did exactly that. The final result looks absolutely amazing, and you can barely tell anything ever happened. I was with my father when he bought a 1963 Pontiac Bonneville convertible sight unseen in 1962. It…read morewas a family car until my parents gave it to me in 1967. Nothing is too good for that car. The car looked great but desperately needed mechanical help. Specifically it was leaking a lot of oil from multiple places, plus a series of other issues. I interviewed a number of providers. What I was looking for was someone that knew what they were doing AND actually cared about their work. When I talked to Manny, I knew he filled the requirements. I reread the 1 star reviews again here on Yelp before I wrote this and have trouble believing them. Here's why: Manny is a truly detail oriented guy. Although everybody makes mistakes, based on my experience, he would always return phone calls. In any event, he went through the car, rebuilt the engine and brakes, serviced the differential, new shocks, new seals, replaced the top raising and lowering mechanism, fixed service little annoying electrical problems, etc. He sent videos all the way through the process. He also called me and asked questions about what I wanted. So I was involved (but, mercifully, not on my back) By way of example on detail oriented and pride in his work, I will describe what he did to fix the brakes: I wanted to keep the drum brakes to preserve the factory spinner hubcaps. He ordered new drums and the car pulled. He ordered a second set and the car still pulled. (Note: the drums were from China and the instructions said to turn them before installing. Really? Repair a new item before installing it?). So he found a disc brake kit that would allow me to keep the spinners. Did not fit. Ordered a second kit from somebody else. Did not fit. Finally, he had a custom kit made and it fit. Car does not pull. How many guys would go through that? I think most would say "good enough". This is not what Manny does. There is a similar story with the carburetor. So now the car runs great. I picked the right guy. Last item: he works on one car at a time. You gotta be patient and wait your turn. it's worth it.

Rating: 4.75/5 I…read morerecently had my Subaru tinted with Llumar FormulaOne "Stratos" series at Tint Plus, and overall, I'm really happy with the experience. From the start, the initial call was helpful, and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. The manager was great--he was patient, informative, and really took the time to walk me through the options. I opted for the higher-end Stratos series, with 70% tint on the windshield and sunroof, and 30% on the sides. I went with the 30% on the sides for a good balance between looks and function, though in hindsight, I might have gone with a 40% or 50% just to reduce the chance of being pulled over. But that's a subjective decision, and I can still see fine at night with the 30%, so it works. After having the Stratos for a while, I'll admit that I didn't notice as much of a difference as I expected between it and a high-quality ceramic film. If I were to do it again, I'd probably consider going with their regular ceramic for the side windows and keep the Stratos on the windshield and sunroof, where it does feel like a noticeable upgrade in terms of heat rejection and clarity. There were some small air bubbles in the tint, particularly on the sunroof, but I gave it a little time. When they didn't go away, I gave the shop a call. They were really accommodating, and the manager had no hesitation in bringing me in to replace the sunroof tint. I appreciate how they handled this--it's hard to get tint perfect every time (unless you're working in a clean room), but they were eager to make sure I was satisfied, which goes a long way in my book. One minor hiccup was that the price I was quoted online was a bit different than what I was told in the shop. The website has some helpful details, but it showed a car sunroof (rather than a small SUV), which resulted in a higher price. Not a huge deal, and I understand that things can get mixed up, especially with a newer website. When I brought it up in-store, they gave me an upfront quote that was just a little higher than expected (maybe around $70 more), but they were clear about it, and they also offer a nice military veteran discount. I didn't push them to honor the online price because I felt the situation was understandable and fair. Another nice touch was that they use professional software for invoicing, which I didn't see at another shop I've worked with in the past. It adds a level of professionalism that I really appreciated. The shop itself was clean and well-organized, with a waiting area and a restroom. I liked that they had a display showing all their tint options, plus a helpful booklet with examples, so I could see how different tints would look in my car before making a final choice. When I came back for the replacement tint, I was told it would take about an hour. However, I didn't hear anything for a few hours, so I called and was informed that the job was actually done and ready. A small communication hiccup, but no big deal--just something to keep in mind. The only reason I'm not giving a perfect 5-star (4.75 out of 5, though I did round up) review is the small price discrepancy, the initial bubble issue, and the slight difference I noticed with the Stratos compared to ceramic, but considering how quickly they addressed everything and how great the overall experience was, I'm still very satisfied. They truly care about customer service, and I'd definitely recommend Tint Plus if you're looking for a quality tint job with fair pricing, professional service, and great attention to detail.
