Y'all!! Run don't walk to this newly opened restaurant in Elm Village. DH and I went for our anniversary and even on a Monday night it was good that we made a reservation. The ambiance was lovely with tiny lamps on each table.. it feels like a place you want to dress up for but not everyone was. I had a purple rain martini before dinner and DH had a black walnut old fashioned that smelled like pancakes! For dinner, I chose the steak and frites which was delish but when I tell you that my husbands Cajun pork chop meal was AMAZING, I mean every word. It's zesty but not spicy flavor of the red eye gravy paired beautifully with a super crispy tender pork chop that could easily be enough for lunch the next day. At least, that was the plan... however when we took the leftovers home, our elderly cat (who is ravenous all the time due to a thyroid issue) proceeded to eat every last bit of the pork chop. DH was equal parts furious and disappointed because it was SO DAMN GOOD! He even gnawed the bone at the restaurant after cutting it away from the rest of the meat, and THAT part was EVEN better. In exchange for him allowing the cat to continue to naturally live out her days, I'm getting some takeout of the same dish to make up for it. read more

Phenomenal food, atmosphere and vibes! Many have told me they enjoyed eating dinner here so I had to come and try it for myself! Everything was delicious and made to perfection. We started off with the Wagyu meatballs and they were absolutely delicious, I loved the sauce they were drowned in. I ordered a petite filet with mashed potatoes and my husband ordered crab cakes with French fries. Both were so good! I couldn't believe how amazing the French fries were; some of the best I ever had. We also got four different cocktails which were all very good as well and finished off our dinner with the creme brûlée. I went to Epic for a birthday celebration over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the decor and ambiance...open wine display, fully stocked bar(bourbon girly here), dimmed lighting. It was just perfect for the occasion! The drinks were great, the food was good and plentiful and the service was good as well. I ordered the braised short rib and was especially pleased by the portion size. We also ordered meatballs, crab fritters, filet, steak frittes, grilled shrimp, mac & cheese, and broccoli which were all tasty. I'll definitely be visiting again. read more

Today was our first time ever visiting this restaurant and we were absolutely blown away! I was a little nervous about going as it was Valentine's day weekend but the service and food were beyond exceptional despite the restaurant being busy. We were greeted and sat at our reserved table within 5 mins of walking in the restaurant and all the staff was very friendly. Our waiter Jake was patient and gave good feedback about their specialty menu. The restaurant manager and chef came by our table to ask about our experience as well which was lovely. Our food was delicious from appetizer to main course with a reasonable bill to end the night. This restaurant is one of the few I have had lately that was actually worth the hype! The steak was so tender we could cut it with a butter knife and the ambiance of the restaurant was romantic and more of an upscale feel with a great music play list. We will definitely be returning here and recommending it to anyone looking for a good place to eat. read more

I was so excited about the opening, and then I wasn't. The ambiance is clean and elegant...love it. Cute little lamps on the table are a modern touch. The restrooms were nice enough but I loved the graphics on the bathroom doors...swanky. They played elegant music, like Michael Buble and the like. Love that. And they serve all of their steak Pittsburg style (charred). Love that! They're still working out some kinks with the service - a bit disorganized. I was by myself so I sat at the bar. The bartender served my glass of wine without a napkin under it, but a supervisor noticed that and remedied it. I had asked for a glass of water with my wine and that didn't come until I repeated my order. I had the ribeye 104. I was shocked to see how THIN it was! At a steak house! I have a couple of ribeyes from Lidl in my freezer that are thicker than what Epic served. The flavor wasn't rememberable either. I had loaded mashed potatoes as my side and they were warm at best -- not piping hot like I would expect from a steakhouse, but tasty enough. Potatoes hold their heat so they must have been sitting there a while before they were served to me. And I was seated when they opened at 5pm. Disappointing. I'll give them another try but not any time soon. read more

Ambiance was perfect. We were tucked away and even though we were right next others it felt like we were the only ones there. The lights on the table were just right. Service - on point! The whole night. It was not a fast meal - took 2 hours to eat and the time passed so smoothly. We had ahi tuna. It was great. Husband had a black walnut old fashioned and he said it was amazing. They had a cranberry bread/sour dough that I could have made a meal of alone. The meal itself - the filet/ribeye were the best. My Medallions were a little over cooked but they were tender so I kept them. The shrimp was nothing special and the Brussel sprouts were just that. Good, not great. The potato cakes - definitely a nice change from baked potato and cooked just right. The best side on the table were the mushrooms. All 4 of us loved them. I had heard rave reviews about this restaurant so i decided to book a table for my birthday. Service failures started almost immediately. Sat there almost 5 minutes no server. She finally zips by and says she'll be back. Comes back a few minutes. By this we are fully ready to order. We order drinks appetizer and entrees. Appetizer comes out but we never received our drinks. Our drinks are finally brought out after she stops at the table across from us and gives them their drinks and they were seated at least 15-20 minutes after we were already seated. This young lady dropped the ball several times wasn't attentive at all kept going missing for extended periods of time. Please keep in mind this was a random Tuesday evening and the restaurant was not at all busy and we were a party of two. We Had to flag down other staff to assist with our needs. She seemed surprised when she was still tipped accordingly. Entrees eventually came out...I honestly have no complaints about the food surprisingly. My wife's meal was a bit questionable the mixed veggies were horribly cut and uneven causing them to be undercooked and her steak was slightly undercooked. Restaurant itself was clean had a good vibe. Was under the impression it was a high end steakhouse but didn't totally give me that impression upon arrival. We followed what we thought the dress policy meant. Nice shirt and shoes wife wore a lovely outfit we get there I see sweatsuits and dirty work boots on guest. Overall experience was 4 out of 10. Food is what kind of really saved the whole experience. Was not a total fail but I've had better experiences Side note...you have to pay for table bread...no dessert or acknowledgment of your birthday or likely any occasion you may have come to celebrate. read more

I went for a birthday celebration. My friend had called twice for her reservation, but they said they didn't have it when we were all there. This caused us to have to wait an extra hour. The manager was very helpful though, keeping us updated on when another larger party should leave. We sat at a table right next to the kitchen. I didn't care for it bc it was a tight space and every time a server would swing the door open, you could feel the wind making it cold. The ambience is really chill, but some of the music was super loud. We were there so long we heard the same songs like 3 times lol. The shrimp appetizer seemed to be a hit. I don't eat seafood so I didn't try it. Drinks came at a decent time. 2 of the guests didn't like their drinks, but the server came them some extra flavoring to help. It took a while for the food to come, but mine looked good. I got the sirloin with a loaded baked potato, The blue cheese and garlic butter made the steak so good! I enjoyed it. The guests near me enjoyed their food as well. They served one of the guests his salad with no dressing, and it took a bit longer for him to receive it so he didn't want it anymore. Another guest says she asked for a suggestion and the server suggested blackened chicken for the chicken to be seasoned, but it was just burnt. I did feel kind of bad for the server bc those 2 guests kinda gave her a hard time. They do charge an outside dessert fee of $15. Never again! Our reservations were made early in the week for 4 people. When we arrived, they placed us at a table for 6 right at the kitchen door. Since there were multiple empty tables for 4, we asked if we could be moved to one of them. The response was, "Those tables are reserved." Did our reservations not count? Every time someone came out of the kitchen with a tray of food, I felt like something was going to be dropped on my head. The young lady came to take our order and stepped on my foot because there was no space for both of us. Our beverages took forever to arrive. Our friend's first beverage was okay. When he ordered the second one, he waited 20-25 minutes and when the manager walked by, our friend mentioned that he had been waiting 15 minutes for his drink. In less than 5 minutes, he had his drink...but there was significantly less in the glass...like maybe 1/3 less. When it was mentioned to the manager, he blatantly lied and said the drink was exactly what it should be. So why did they look like 2 totally different drinks? Our other friend waited 15 minutes for a ginger ale. She had to remind the waitress twice. Before returning home, I knew something I had eaten did not agree with me. Needless to say, I've had no sleep from being up a good portion of the night. This restaurant is beautiful and we have enjoyed having dinner there in the past but after the experience we had last night, we won't be back! read more

This is a follow up review to a one star review I previously left. I am amending as the owner/manager reached out directly to me with an apology and a promise to use the information in my review to better train the hosting staff. I was extremely appreciative of his quick response and resolution. We dined with them again with our large group and the food was great. We did have some issues with the service and our bill, but nothing unexpected for such a large group. I am recommending this restaurant again- as the food is really good and the atmosphere feels more upscale than most Greensboro restaurants. Give it a try! read more

My old fashion was one of the worse I ever had. I left and went elsewhere while my husband got the food to go. The food was really good and worth a second chance.. Birthday dinner for myself- wanted to try a new place! We went on a Thursday evening and it wasn't too busy. We made reservations prior and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was super nice and let us know about specials and how best to order their steaks. Menu was amazing and literally has something for everyone. I opted for the Hawaiian ribeye and baked potato with a side hour salad with their house dressing. We also ordered the artisan bread for the table. All was great! The ribeye was too fatty for me so I would order differently next time, but all in all great experience and look forward to coming back soon! read more

Went to Epic for a work event in the private dining room. Hate to be corny here but it was epic! The steakhouse bacon appetizer and the shrimp appetizer are both incredible! I have the lobster bisque and it did not disappoint. For the main course I had the bone in ribeye and that steak was perfect. Had the cast iron crust and was seasoned exactly right. I had the chocolate cake for dessert. It was very good. Portions are large and the atmosphere is really great. Definitely will go back with my wife for a date. read more

This is a very beautiful restaurant that I decided to try last minute. They were able to accommodate my last minute reservation which is always nice. I'm surprised as it got pretty busy within 30 minutes of me sitting down. My waiter was very sweet and informative about the menu. I ordered the filet and shrimp medium, which came out more on the medium rare side. They explained that their steak temperatures run on the lower side compared to other restaurants. So I asked them to cook it a little more which turned out to be the medium I was expecting. It was still slightly chewy but the flavors were very good. Overall it's a nice restaurant in a very nice location. I hear their drinks are good but I only had wine with my meal. I would certainly return to try other menu items. read more

While in Greensboro on business, I searched Yelp for a dinner spot with nice ambiance to celebrate my husband's birthday. We chose Epic Chophouse as it was among the top reviewed spots. Tried making reservations online but kept getting no availability, so we called for a reservation the day prior. Upon arrival, the hostess greeted and seated us immediately in a comfortable booth. Atmosphere was fresh and fancy with crisp, white cloths on tables, yet pleasantly comfortable. We settled in as our server approached, introduced herself and took our beverage order. We ordered wine, a cocktail and a basket of bread. Delicious, thick slices of sourdough and wheat berry bread were served warm with butter. The bartender was on point as my wine glass was a nice pour for the price and my husband savored his old fashioned. Our meals were superb! My fillet was perfectly well done and still tender and the potato cakes were a nice alternative to standard side options. The braised short rib was tender and tasty. We ordered the bread pudding, which was truly epic! Service was fantastic from start to finish. We fully enjoyed our Epic experience and will return whenever we're in Greensboro! read more

I want to start this review by thanking our waitress Bree, she was wildly helpful in narrowing down our selections and offering her thoughts on some of the amazing menu options. You do not find service like this anywhere. She was relatable, funny, knowledgeable, and timely in her check ins. The food. Phenomenal! I enjoyed the Pittsburgh style cook on my ribeye, nice and crispy on the exterior, juicy and flavorful on the inside. The garlic's butter was a great addition. The drink menu offered a great variety and some fun music related drinks (Sage it ain't so! And Res hot chilli peppers amongst many others!). My group all really enjoyed their meal and experience. The restaurant's decor is great, overall a next level experience. Our reservation for 6pm was seated timely, around 7pm the lights in the restaurant dimmed for a very intimate experience. My only wish is that we had an Epic Chophouse in Miami, FL where I'm from! 10/10 highly recommend!!! I look forward to coming back next time I'm in town. read more

Epic disappointment. Third time dining here...First time our server misled us about what came with the meal. Second time our meal was very good as was our server. Last night was VERY disappointing. Steak was well done, had ordered medium. Meal was redone: grizzly and not even warm. Was celebrating a birthday-nothing done for that. Was going to spend $300 on gift cards-that's not happening. Stop over selling the appetizers. Kabobs are easy to prepare, but you should already know that. Meal was comped but that was irrelevant. Overall, I was disappointed in our first dining experience at Epic. We ordered an appetizer, lobster bisque, filet, ribeyes, and Mac and cheese, and dessert. The cheese bread was delicious. It reminded me of French bread with a Boursin cheese spread. Everyone at our table loved it. Unfortunately, the lobster bisque had to be sent back as it was over salted. It also lacked any real chunks of lobster which was also disappointing. The fries were also drenched in salt and this is coming from a group that loves well seasoned food. One of our ribeyes had to be returned as it came out rare and the manager returned without an apology and instead offered more fresh fries as if that made up for it. Upon bringing out the same steak you could tell immediately they overcooked it in their efforts to remedy it. It was now medium (supposed to be med rare). The Mac and cheese was a table favorite though. For dessert, we ordered the cookie skillet and waited 35 minutes. 35 minutes for a cookie and vanilla ice cream! We ended up having to ask them to pack it to go and got home to a spongy tasteless cookie. I would suggest they take this off the menu until they get this right. This spot has the potential to be great but there were too many major issues for this to be an enjoyable repeat dining experience. read more

Greensboro has a new upscale dining option that you need to check out. The space is elegantly upscale, yet feels relaxed and comfortable. Service is impeccable. And the food? Excellent. We started with the appetizer shrimp special followed by salads, entrees, and finally desert. Everything was excellent. We particularly loved the crab cakes as they are all lump crab with no filler. You must try these if you like crab cakes. Entree portions are good sized. We all left comfortably full. We finished dinner sharing the three layer chocolate cake which was incredible. Prices are very reasonable with entree options ranging from the low $20's to, well $60+ for steaks. You can have a terrific dining experience for a reasonable price or probably blow your 401-k if you really wanted too. All in all, Epic Chophouse is a great value in upscale dining. read more

A friend and I chose epic chophouse In Greensboro last evening after looking at over 20 different locations to consider. I have been there before any immediately said yes let's do it! I soon had regrets. The atmosphere was beautiful and buzzing for a Saturday evening, the perfect vibe after a hard week and the service was fantastic. Thank you Jared!!! He was very attentive! But the meal fell very flat. I ordered the calamari and they looked so beautiful, fried the way I like them... However, they were plain. No seasoning. No flavor. No zest or satisfying "1st bite." I also ordered the scallops with shoestring, zucchini and potatoes. Again, no flavor, dull, boring, and the scallops were not completely cooked. The searing was inconsistent along with the texture. Not sure what happened last night, but not at all what I had in mind. However, we had an amazing time and enjoyed the company and the atmosphere. read more
