We love EDA. They thought our dog commands and then taught us how to train at home using e-collar that has made a huge difference for our family with our very big very energetic and wild mastiff. Not only are we as pet parents happy, but our young kids are happy and so is the dog because now they actually can be in the same space without us being super freaked out that the dog is going to be wild around them or act out his puppy behaviors on them (he's over 120 pounds at a year old). Of course he still needs to be watched when with them but the difference is night and day. My favorite thing about EDAis that they hold group training lessons every two weeks so we get a chance to train our boy with lots of other dogs around and can ask the trainers questions. Firstly, for those who are skeptical about leaving their dog at a board and train: I got my dog back in a happy state. He seemed to really like his trainers and for being an extremely anxious dog, I could tell he was clearly treated well by people who really love dogs. Next, I want to give some back story on my dog Bentley. He was the definition of a dog you wouldn't want to interact with on a walk. Every dog he saw, every person who said good morning, every child on a bike who road by would cause him to go into a barking and growling frenzy. He'd pull on the leash and yank himself and anyone holding onto him around. I knew I had to get him some behavioral adjustment training because it was stopping me from being able to get him outside to exercise regularly. Enter Vince and his team. When I went to pick him up, I didn't know what to expect, I had high hopes, but I'd dealt with my dog's reactivity and aggression for 2 years, so seeing him behave differently was an odd concept. As soon as they brought him out for the go-home demonstration and introduced other dogs into the scenario, I saw a completely different dog than I had left with them. I was able to walk him by another dog without a reaction, and they gave me the tools I needed to correct a reaction when it happens. Before I sent him to the academy, he would have had aggressive reactions 9 times out of 10 in public. Since I've gotten him back, it's been more like 9 times out of 10 he doesn't react. His heel is great, his attentiveness is awesome, and the few times he has reacted negatively, they were minor and I was easily able to correct him. Which leads me to my final point: your dog isn't the only one who will learn. We got a go-home demonstration for over an hour and the team there was so willing to answer our questions about how to work with Bentley at home. They offer group classes for follow-on training and I'm really looking forward to those. I felt like I was going home not only with a dog that had been given a foundation to succeed, but with the knowledge myself on how to maintain and improve what he'd already learned. Have been looking around for a good boarding place since moving to the area last year. Last month my husband & I called Epic Dog Academy to inquire about the process to sign up for a few daycares to give it a shot. Couldn't get through, so left messages and never heard back. It seems most of the reviews are for training so maybe they don't prioritize new boarding customers, which is ok, just would've been nice to have a call back. :) Its a shame we couldn't try it out to see if there was a good fit... but at the same time, I do require reliability and responsiveness out of a boarding facility, so it just wasn't in the cards. read more

Rachel came to our house and groomed our three German Shepherds. She was absolutely amazing. You can tell she loves dogs and takes pride in the small details. We have used other grooming companies and this company takes the cake! Rachel was so kind and patient with our babies. One of the shepherds is long haired and she looked like a show dog after! She dealt with our hip issues and barking non-stop so patiently and lovingly. I'm so amazed by how beautiful they all look. Just had our dog Dakota take part in training with Epic Dog Academy and I'll will tell you first hand these trainers are absolute professionals. Gene is Dakotas handler/trainer and you can tell he absolutely cares about her welfare and training. Dakota had serious obedience issues which would more than likely end in her hurting herself or someone else. After her 2 week in facility training she came back to us ready to take on the world! This company is a little on the pricey side but they never claimed to be cheap. They focus on training that last and more importantly training dog owners to be better parents to their pups. Vince and Olivia run a first class operation at Epic Dog Academy. Their facilities are clean and well maintained their entire staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and you can see they all just love dogs! I can recommend them without hesitation for your dog. We did the two week boarding. Boot Camp in our dog came back to us healthy, attentive and happy. Olivia made sure we didn't leave the facility until we were comfortable with our marching orders to continue the excellent training that they did, it was like night and day obedience with our puppy and we have been able to maintain that level of training and it's really become a fun thing for us to do with our dog a couple times a day. We also plan to board our dog there in the future because they do refresher courses while they're being boarded. After our initial two weeks at the camp, Olivia came to our home to do an in-house follow up training and answer the many questions that we have by the way... Our house is over an hour from Epic Dog Academy so it wasn't an easy thing to do. Again, I recommend them without hesitation. read more

This was a nightmare of an experience. Please read these reviews before considering going to Epic. Joel is a salesman and Epic is a money motivated business. I never would have agreed to an e-collar but Joel presented it like it was a mild attention getter with no pain associated whatsoever, that was not true. My dog yelped at a 39 setting at pick up with the collar and I was corrected by staff not to react. They will click the E-Collar repeatedly until the dog obeys. We called the e-collar company to find out they used the e-collar prongs for a long haired dog and my dog is a short haired dog. Also they used a prong collar on my dog that I never would have agreed to. I was told my dog needed an anxiety behavioral program that was $1,000 dollars more ($4,000 total), yet how does shocking a dog and physically hurting them reduce anxiety? My dog has a knee problem that Epic was aware of and was told not to overwork her and she returned home with a limp and a torn ligament and required two surgeries instead of one. When asked for a refund I was told "no" by Olivia because services were "rendered" even though Joel explained the program is a year long. My dog still has the same lease pulling issues that we are working on with a high quality harness and lease and treat training. Despite sharing these concerns, Epic took no responsibility but offered "one or two" complimentary in-home trainings. I refuse to accept services from a company that mislead me and abused my already once rehomed rescue dog. read more

My carpet cleaning company recommended EDA to help me with training my new puppy, Melody. She was 18 weeks and full of energy. I really only wanted help with potty training and basic commands. So I was very hesitant at the beginning because I have an unruly puppy that I thought had insurmountable issues. She had to stay a little longer than the initial three weeks, but she came back knowing her commands. I've had to do daily practice with her, but she's getting better every day and every step of the way my EDA trainers are available to help me and to teach me to be a good owner. I'm very happy with this purchase and relieved to have a good dog that I can handle. Jean made me feel really comfortable during biweekly training sessions as well as coming to my house and reinforced the basics that allowed my puppy to feel safe and be obedient so she can hopefully be a service dog one day. read more

My experience thus far: my Cane Corso was 5 months when she initially started training. 2 week full commitment which is hard for anyone to give up their fur babies to strangers but a completely transforming experience as my girl got her 9 basic commands down and that's when my homework began as we all know consistency is a must for all of our pups to be successful! Then, there is grooming, I can not be anymore grateful that the groomers treat all the dogs as if they are their own! My girl runs straight to her groomer when she sees her and that is built trust and love! Doggy daycare has been a blessing for us both! I get to run errands and she gets to play and socialize with other pups as well so it's a win-win for all of us! As for boarding, there is truly no amount of accolades that can be given for all they do! My German Shepherd, Bentley needed some behavioral adjustments. He was really aggressive when we got him and would not listen to any commands. He had food aggression so we couldn't get near him and neither could our other dog. After the training he went through an adjustment period and I could see the dramatic change. He was finally getting along with our other dog and we were able to feed him comfortably. I am now able to distinguish from when he was aggressive to when he just wants attention. Megan did a great job and it's always a pleasure seeing her during our group class. He is still a work in progress but with such a great team I know he is just going to continue to excel. She learned all commands and we took her home. A week later Lyla's trainer (Jean) came for home visit. He was very helpful answering our questions and Lyla was happy to see him too. I can't praise this company enough for all they did for our dog Harper and our family! We rescued her and she was so wild and honestly a burden for our family.
